Carson Palmer, cin

Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis declined to say Sunday whether Carson Palmer will play in Cincinnati's next preseason game, leaving the quarterback's status unclear for the season opener. Last week, the Bengals quarterback said he wasn't ready to get into a game and take his first hit. "He wants to make sure he can perform his job the way he knows how to perform it when he steps out onto the field," Lewis said.

8/17/2006

Carson Palmer, cin

The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that Palmer will not play for the Bengals in their preseason game against the Buffalo Bills on Friday. The quarterback has stated that he will not appear in a game until he is 100% recovered from his left knee surger. He tore his ACL and dislocated his knee cap on the first play of a 31-17 playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Jan. 8.

Carson Palmer, cin

Palmer went 4-for-9 for 57 yards and a touchdown pass in the Cincinnati Bengals scrimmage Friday. The Bengals offered Jones a six-year, $40 million contract extension Tuesday. The deal will pay Jones $21 million over the first three years and includes $16.3 million in guaranteed money.

Odell Thurman, cin

Thurman has been suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policies. Thurman became the team's starting middle linebacker as a rookie last season, when the Bengals made their first playoff appearance since 1990. Thurman was excused from the team's minicamp last month for personal reasons.

7/23/2006

Matthias Askew, cin

Officers trying to arrest Askew after a parking violation used a Taser to subdue him and charged him with resisting arrest. The 24-year-old Askew struggled with officers trying to handcuff him Saturday evening and broke away before he was shocked, police spokesman Lt. Tom Lanter said. Askew ignored an officer's warning to move his illegally parked car and then refused to give his identification, Lanter said.

7/13/2006

Ahmad Brooks, cin

The Bengals selected Brooks in the third round of Thursday's supplemental NFL draft. Brooks starred at Virginia for three seasons, but played only six games last season due to injury and was kicked off the team just before spring practice. He was a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference linebacker as a sophomore and a finalist for the Butkus Award given to the nation's top linebacker in 2004.

6/16/2006

Chad Johnson, cin

Johnson pulled groin muscles during Friday's Cincinnati Bengals minicamp and was taken off the field on a cart. The Bengals' minicamp ends Saturday with training camp to open on July 29.

Carson Palmer, cin

Palmer was cleared to throw to receivers during 7-on-7 drills on Thursday. The drill has defensive backs cover receivers, but no one rushes the passer. The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback also briefly ran the offense at the end of practice. "Now we've got a couple of months," Palmer said. "I wish we had a couple of more months for me personally. But when you look at the flip side, if I am ready to play that day, that game can't come quickly enough."

4/21/2006

Anthony Wright, cin

Wright inked a one-year deal with Cincinnati on Thursday and will provide quarterbacking depth for the Bengals while starter Carson Palmer recovers from reconstructive surgery on his left knee. 4/12/2006

Chris Henry, cin

Henry is scheduled to stand trial on May 30 on charges of carrying a concealed firearm. Carson Palmer, cin

1/13/2006

Carson Palmer, cin

According to the doctor that performed the surgery to repair the torn ligaments in Palmer's knee, the injury was "devastating and potentially career ending." However, everything went well in the procedure, and he is confident that the Cincinnati quarterback will make a full recovery. The Bengals currently do not have an exact timetable for Palmer's return, but they are optimisitic that he will be ready for the start of the 2006 campaign.

1/11/2006

Carson Palmer, cin

According to his surgeon, Palmer has multiple ligament tears, including his ACL and MCL, and basically a dislocation of his left knee. As a result, the operation to repair the damage is more complicated and the Bengals' quarterback will need more time to recover from the procedure. He now is expected to be sidelined for at least 8-to-9 months, putting his availability for the start of the 2006 campaign highly in question.

1/10/2006

Chris Henry, cin

The damage in Henry's right knee is not serious, and the Bengals' receiver will not need surgery, according to head coach Marvin Lewis. The rookie was unable to return to Cincinnati's lineup after injuring the knee early in Sunday's Wild Card matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He finished with 31 catches for 422 yards and six touchdowns in 14 regular-season games, serving as the team's third wideout.

1/9/2006

Carson Palmer, cin

Further tests have revealed that Palmer not only ruputred the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, but he has a torn medial collateral ligament as well. According to doctors, both are complete, clean tears, which in most cases means a shorter recovery time. The Bengals' quarterback, who suffered the injury on the team's second offensive play in Sunday's playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, is expected to undergo surgery later this week.

Chris Henry, cin

Henry was unable to return to the Cincinnati Bengals' lineup after hurting his right knee early in Sunday's Wild Card matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Henry missed the Bengals' practice on Wednesday because of a back injury, but he returned to the field on Thursday and reported no major problems. The rookie receiver, who was a third-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, plans to be ready for this weekend's Wild Card matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

12/30/2005

Chris Perry, cin

Perry practiced at full speed on Thursday for the first time since spraining his left ankle in a Week 14 win over the Cleveland Browns. The second-year running back reported no problems following the workout, prompting the Bengals to upgrade him from doubtful to questionable on the injury report for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs.

12/29/2005

Carson Palmer, cin

The Bengals have not yet decided if Palmer will start this Sunday at Kansas City, but the team plans on having him under center for years to come. Cincinnati gave Palmer a six-year contract extension through 2014 on Thursday. Financial terms have not been disclosed.

12/27/2005

Carson Palmer, cin

The Cincinnati Bengals likely will wait until later in the week to decide whether Palmer will get the starting nod in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs. The quarterback most certainly will be limited over the next couple of days, primarily as a precautionary measure, after suffering a slight groin strain in the closing minutes of last weekend's loss to the Buffalo Bills.

12/24/2005

Deltha O'Neal, cin

O'Neal left Saturday's game against Buffalo during Cincinnati's first defensive series with a possible knee injury. The defensive back was able to leave the field without assistance, but went to the locker room for an exam and was not on the field for Cincinnati's next defensive series. He returned to the game in the second quarter.

12/22/2005

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

A sore foot has prevented Houshmandzadeh from practicing with the Bengals this week, but he is confident that he'll be ready for Saturday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills. The receiver, who officially is listed as probable on the injury report, likely will test things out over the next couple of days to determine his availability.

12/21/2005

Chris Perry, cin

Perry already has been ruled out of Saturday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills, due to a sprained left ankle. The injury, suffered in a Week 14 win over the Cleveland Browns, prevented him from serving as Rudi Johnson's primary backup in the Bengals' backfield last weekend. He hopes to be ready for the start of the playoffs.

Chris Henry, cin

The Bengals decided to deactivate Henry for last weekend's win over the Detroit Lions after he was charged with speeding, driving with expired tags, driving with an expired license and possession of marijuana in a traffic stop last Thursday morning. According to head coach Marvin Lewis, the rookie receiver, who was a third-round pick in this year's draft, will be a game-time decision for Saturday's tilt with the Buffalo Bills.

He has led the Bengals to 11 wins and their first division title since 1990.

12/16/2005

Chris Henry, cin

Early Thursday morning, Henry was pulled over in a traffic stop and charged with speeding, driving with expired tags, driving with an expired license and possession of marijuana. The rookie receiver practiced with the Bengals later in the day and is not expected to miss any game action at this point. According to the team, he could face penalties once the case goes through the court system. His court date currently is scheduled for Dec. 28.

12/13/2005

Chris Perry, cin

All tests on Perry's sprained left ankle were negative, but he had his foot in a protective boot at the Bengals' practice facilities on Monday, a day after suffering the injury in a win over the Cleveland Browns. Reportedly, there is a good chance the running back could miss the rest of the regular season, but he hopes to be available for the start of the playoffs. For now, he is considered week-to-week.

12/12/2005

Rudi Johnson, cin

Johnson posted season highs in carries (30) and yards (169) in the Bengals' win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The running back found the end zone on an 8-yard scamper in the first quarter, giving him eight touchdowns over his last five games. The yardage total was the four-highest in his NFL career.

Carson Palmer, cin

Palmer posted a season-low 53.5 passer rating in Sunday's meeting with the Cleveland Browns, completing 13 of his 27 attempts for a career-worst 93 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Before the rough outing, the Bengals' quarterback had recorded a passer rating of 100 or better in 14 of 15 games dating back to last season.

12/11/2005

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

With the Steelers' defense focused on stopping star wideout Chad Johnson, Houshmandzadeh had a solid outing in Sunday's win over Pittsburgh, finishing with five catches for a team-high 88 yards and two touchdowns. The Bengals' receiver has five or more receptions in nine of the 10 games in which he has appeared this season.

Carson Palmer, cin

Palmer posted his fifth three-touchdown game of the season, including his second straight, leading the Bengals to a 38-31 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. The quarterback finished the game with a 101.5 passer rating, going 22 of 38 for 227 yards and no interceptions.

11/21/2005

Chad Johnson, cin

Johnson hauled in eight passes for a career-high 189 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's meeting with the Indianapolis Colts, but despite the effort, the Bengals lost the battle, 45-37. The receiver has topped 90 yards six times this season, including four of his last five games.

Rudi Johnson, cin

The Bengals were forced to go to the air in attempt to get back in Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, limiting Johnson to just 16 carries -- his second-lowest output of the 2005 campaign. However, the running back made the most of his opportunities, rushing for 76 yards -- a solid 4.8-yard average -- and two touchdowns.

Carson Palmer, cin

Palmer topped the 300-yard mark for the second time this season, but his performance wasn't quite enough, as the Bengals lost to the undefeated Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, 45-37. The quarterback finished the game 25 of 38 for 335 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

11/18/2005

Rudi Johnson, cin

As has been the case the majority of the 2005 campaign, Johnson was held out of practice on Wednesday as a precautionary measure, so he could rest his troublesome knee. However, the running back returned to action on Thursday and got in a full workout with the Bengals. He'll practice again on Friday and be in the starting lineup for Sunday's tussle with the Indianapolis Colts.

11/11/2005

Antonio Chatman, cin

Robert Ferguson is still at least a week away from returning to action, so Chatman will remain in the Packers' starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. The receiver, who will be making his third consecutive start, has 27 catches for 326 yards and three touchdowns in eight games this season.

11/7/2005

Anthony Wright, cin

Kyle Boller will resume his duties as the Ravens' starting quarterback in Sunday's matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars after missing the last six games with a hyperextended toe. As a result, Wright, who is nursing a sprained left ankle, will drop a spot on the depth chart and handle the primary backup role going forward.

11/2/2005

Chad Johnson, cin

As a precautionary measure, Johnson was held out of practice on Wednesday, allowing him to rest his bruised left shoulder. The ailment is considered minor, and the receiver is expected to be ready for this weekend's tussle with the Baltimore Ravens. Officially, Johnson is listed as probable on the Bengals' injury report.

10/31/2005

Carson Palmer, cin

After posting a disappointing 53.8 passer rating last week, Palmer got back on track in Sunday's victory over the Green Bay Packers, going 22 of 34 for 237 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. The Bengals' quarterback has a passer rating of 100 or better in all but one game this season.

Madieu Williams, cin

Williams has been placed on injured reserve by the Cincinnati Bengals, officially bringing his 2005 season to an end. The safety recorded 23 tackles and an interception in four games this year, but was forced to undergo surgery on his ailing shoulder last week. He will be replaced on the roster by offensive lineman Steven Vieira.

10/30/2005

Suffering from a groin injury, Henry was able to return to practice on Friday. He is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Packers. Henry will be the Bengals' third option at receiver.

10/24/2005

Antonio Chatman, cin

Chatman will step into the Packers' starting lineup for the next few games, as Robert Ferguson is expected to miss up to a month with a torn lateral cruciate ligament in his left knee, as well as a sprained ankle. In six contests this season, Chatman has 15 catches for 186 yards and three touchdowns.

10/23/2005

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

Houshmandzadeh will play on Sunday against the Steelers. The Bengals' wide receiver has been out of the lineup the past two games with a bruised right hand. On the season, Houshmandzadeh has 20 receptions for 248 yards and a touchdown.

10/21/2005

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

Houshmandzadeh's availability for Sunday's faceoff against the Pittsburgh Steelers is still up in the air until game time, although he showed improvement in practice this week.

Chris Perry, cin

The Cincinnati Bengals continue to expand Perry's role in the offensive attack, especially in passing situations. The second-year running back, who was the 26th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, currently leads all players at his position with 27 receptions on the season. In six games, he's rushed for 149 yards on 32 carries -- a 4.7-yard average.

10/20/2005

Rudi Johnson, cin

Johnson has been nursing a knee injury for nearly a month, and the Bengals have been holding him out of practice on Wednesday's as a precautionary measure. The same was the case this week, but the running back returned to the field for Thursday's workouts and fully expects to be in the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Officially, he is listed as probable.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

According to Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, Houshmandzadeh should return to practice this week for the first time since early October, but his workouts still might be limited. The receiver has missed the Bengals' last two games with a bruised and swollen right hand, and he's currently listed as questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers. His status will be updated over the next couple of days.

10/18/2005

Dexter Jackson, cin

Jackson will miss at least a couple of weeks, according to Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden, after aggravating his hamstring injury in Sunday's meeting with the Miami Dolphins. The team will look to Will Allen to fill the void in the lineup until the regular starting safety is able to return.

10/17/2005

Chad Johnson, cin

Johnson notched his second 100-yard outing of the 2005 campaign, hauling in eight passes for 135 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's victory over the Tennessee Titans. The receiver has five catches or more in all but one of the Bengals' six games this season, and in the contest he finished short (three receptions), Johnson had two TDs.

Carson Palmer, cin

Palmer was nearly perfect in Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans, posting just six incomplete passes on the day. The Bengals' quarterback finished the game 27 of 33 for 272 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. His passer rating has been 100 or better in each of Cincinnati's six contests this season.

10/14/2005

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

On Friday, the Bengals downgraded Houshmandzadeh to doubtful for this Sunday's game against the Titans. The wide out is still nursing a hand injury suffered in the Bengals' loss to the Jaguars two weeks ago.

10/13/2005

Rudi Johnson, cin

Johnson plans to return to practice with the Bengals on Thursday after skipping Wednesday's workout to rest a sore knee. The running back, who has been nursing the injury for the past couple of weeks, will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans and is expected to handle the bulk of the carries.

10/12/2005

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

Houshmandzadeh continues to be limited by a bruised right hand and wrist, and he was unable to practice with the Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday. However, the receiver reported improvement and said he is optimistic that he'll be in the lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans. If Houshmandzadeh is forced to miss his second consecutive game, Chris Henry will step into the starting lineup opposite Chad Johnson.

10/10/2005

Duane Clemons, cin

Clemons has resumed workouts with the Cincinnati Bengals after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The defensive end made 14 starts last season, finishing the year with 50 tackles, 6.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

Houshmandzadeh's bruised right hand and wrist were still too sore for him to play in Sunday night's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, landing him on the Bengals' inactive list. The receiver, who was sporting a cast during the week to help keep the swelling down, was replaced in the Cincinnati lineup by Chris Henry. Kelly Washington also saw added playing time as the team's No. 3 wideout.

Chris Henry, cin

With T.J. Houshmandzadeh sidelined with a bruised and swollen hand/wrist, Henry helped fill the void in the Bengals' offensive attack in Sunday's meeting with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The rookie receiver, who was a third-round pick in this year's draft, finished with three catches for 85 yards and his second career touchdown.

10/7/2005

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

Reportedly, Houshmandzadeh has been wearing a cast at times this week to help keep down the swelling in his bruised hand and wrist. As a precautionary measure, the Bengals have kept the receiver out of practice over the last couple of days, but the team is optimistic that he will be available for Sunday's meeting with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He likely will be a game-time decision.

10/4/2005

Larry Moore, cin

Filling in at center for injured starter Rich Braham, Moore suffered a dislocated knee in Sunday's win over the Houston Texans. The Bengals have placed the offensive lineman on injured reserve, officially ending his 2005 campaign.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

9/30/2005

Rudi Johnson, cin

After missing practice the previous day, Johnson was back on the field with the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday and reported no major problems with his sore knee. The ailment is considered minor, and the running back is slated to be in the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Houston Texans.

9/28/2005

Chris Perry, cin

Nursing soreness in his hamstring, Perry will be limited in practice early this week as a precautionary measure. The Bengals' backup running back plans to be available for Sunday's meeting with the Houston Texans, however. He will be listed as probable.

9/27/2005

Willie Anderson, cin

Anderson will undergo an MRI on Tuesday to determine the extent of the back injury he suffered in last weekend's victory over the Chicago Bears. The Bengals' offensive lineman, who has made 83 consecutive starts, reportedly is nursing just a strain. At this point, he has been listed as questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Houston Texans.

9/26/2005

Chad Johnson, cin

The Chicago Bears were able to limit Johnson to just three catches in Sunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, but the receiver made the most of his touches, finding the end zone twice. He finished with 77 yards on the day, scoring from 18 and 40 yards.

9/25/2005

Chris Henry, cin

With Kelley Washington inactive this week, Henry will step into the number three receiver role for the Bengals when they face the Chicago Bears today.

9/23/2005

Chris Henry, cin

Henry was sidelined earlier this week with a foot injury, but he made it through Thursday's practice unscathed. As a result, the Bengals have upgraded the rookie receiver from questionable to probable for Sunday's meeting with the Chicago Bears. He has four catches for 45 yards in one game this season.

9/22/2005

Doug Johnson, cin

Johnson has been released by the Cleveland Browns, opening a spot on the roster for rookie quarterback Derek Anderson, who was claimed off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday. The veteran signal caller had been listed at third on the team's depth chart this season behind starter Trent Dilfer and top backup Charlie Frye.

9/20/2005

Anthony Wright, cin

Regular starter Kyle Boller is slated to miss at least three more weeks with a hyperextended right big toe, meaning Wright will remain under center for the Baltimore Ravens. Since taking over for Boller in the team's season opener, Wright has gone 44 of 71 for 426 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. He's also been sacked eight times and lost a fumble.

Chris Henry, cin

Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry will be listed as questionable with a foot injury for this Sunday's game against the Bears. Henry acted as the team's third receiver last week against the Vikings. If Henry can not go, reserve wide out Kelley Washington will fill the role.

9/19/2005

Deltha O'Neal, cin

O'Neal had Daunte Culpepper's number in Sunday's victory over the Minnesota Vikings, picking off three of the quarterback's passes. The Bengals' cornerback also added nine tackles defended five other passes in the contest.

Chad Johnson, cin

Johnson hauled in seven passes for 139 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown catch on the second play of the game, in Sunday's 37-8 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Dating back to last season, the Bengals' receiver has topped 100 yards in three of his last eight contests. He's also averaged seven catches per game over that span.

Carson Palmer, cin

Palmer continues to show an increased comfort level in the Bengals' offensive attack. The third-year quarterback, who was the top overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, picked apart the Vikings' defense on Sunday, going 27 of 40 for 337 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. It was the third 300-yard performance of his pro career.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

Houshmandzadeh practiced with his Bengals teammates on Friday, and he is probable for Cincinnati's Week 2 showdown with the Minnesota Vikings. Houshmandzadeh seems certain to be lining up opposite Chad Johnson on Sunday. He was good for five catches for 75 yards in the Bengals' win over Cleveland last week.

9/16/2005

James has returned to the Bengals practice after missing the last two days with a toe injury.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

As a precautionary measure, Houshmandzadeh was held out of practice on Wednesday, as he continues to recover from a bruised right arm and shoulder. The receiver is expected to return to the Bengals' workouts over the next couple of days and be ready for Sunday's meeting with the Minnesota Vikings. Officially, he is listed as probable.

9/14/2005

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, cin

Houshmandzadeh will be included on the Bengals injury report this week and listed as probable with a bruised right arm. He suffered the injury last week against the Browns.

9/12/2005

Anthony Wright, cin

With regular starter Kyle Boller sidelined with a hyperextended right big toe, the Baltimore Ravens will give Wright the starting nod in next weekend's meeting with the Tennessee Titans. The 29-year-old quarterback took over when Boller went down in Sunday night's loss to the Indianapolis Colts, going 19 of 31 for 214 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also was sacked twice and lost a fumble.

Chad Johnson, cin

Johnson temporarily had to leave Sunday's season opener against the Cleveland Browns to get intravenous fluids for the leg cramps he was experiencing during the game. The Bengals' receiver returned to the contest and finished with a team-high nine receptions for 91 yards.

Rudi Johnson, cin

Despite not getting the start after breaking a team rule, Johnson saw plenty of time on the field in Sunday's meeting with the Cleveland Browns. The running back handled the bulk of the carries for the Bengals, finishing with 126 yards and a touchdowns on 26 rushes. He also hauled in a pair of passes for 12 yards.

Kenny Watson, cin

Tests have revealed that Watson has a torn biceps muscle, an injury suffered in Sunday's victory over the Cleveland Browns. The Bengals have placed the third-string running back on injured reserve, officially ending his season. The void on the roster likely will be filled later this week.

Carson Palmer, cin

The Bengals' quarterback, who was the top overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, went 26 of 34 for 280 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

9/11/2005

Rudi Johnson, cin

Johnson will be absent from the Cincinnati Bengals' starting lineup for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Cleveland Browns after reportedly breaking a team rule. The running back, who will be replaced by Chris Perry, still should see plenty of carries in the contest.

Kelley Washington, cin

Washington will be in uniform and available for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Cleveland Browns, despite being sidelined for the past couple of weeks by a nagging hamstring injury.

Chris Perry, cin

Because regular starter Rudi Johnson recently broke a team rule, Perry will get the starting nod for the Bengals in Sunday's regular-season opener against the Cleveland Browns. The second-year running back, who was limited to just two games last season by abdominal, groin and hamstring problems, should see more touches than might have been planned originally.

9/8/2005

Kelley Washington, cin

Washington has seen little-to-no practice time with the Bengals this week, as he continues to be slowed by a nagging hamstring injury. As a result, the team has listed the receiver as questionable for Sunday's season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals, and it is likely that he will be a game-time decision. He had 31 catches for 378 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games last season.

The NFL has suspended Clemons without pay for the first four regular-season games of the 2005 campaign for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

It appears Krenzel has won the No. 3 quarterback spot for the Cincinnati Bengals, after the club cut the other candidate, Casey Bramlet, on Saturday.

9/1/2005

Kelley Washington, cin

Slowed by a nagging hamstring injury, Washington missed the Bengals' team workouts on Wednesday, and it is highly unlikely that he will be available for Friday's preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts. The receiver, who had 31 catches for 378 yards and three touchdowns last season, currently is listed as day-to-day.

8/30/2005

Navies, who was released by the Green Bay Packers earlier this week, has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. The veteran linebacker finished the 2004 campaign with 47 tackles and half a sack in 15 games. He started all but one of the 31 regular-season contests in which he appeared with the Pack.

Ifeanyi Ohalete, cin

Ohalete has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals after being released by the Arizona Cardinals. Following three years in Washington, the safety spent just one season with the Cardinals, notching 71 tackles and one forced fumble in 16 games in 2004. He has missed just one game in his four-year NFL career.

Antonio Chatman, cin

Wide receiver Antonio Chatman was forced to leave the field on a cart Friday night while the Packers were playing a preseason contest against the Patriots. Over the last three seasons, Packer wideouts Donald Driver and Robert Ferguson also suffered neck injuries.

8/24/2005

Shayne Graham, cin

Graham took part in some of the Bengals' workouts on Tuesday, albeit on a limited basis. The kicker has been taking it easy recently, as he continues to battle a nagging groin injury. As a precautionary measure, he likely won't play in Friday's preseason meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles.

8/20/2005

Doug Johnson, cin

Johnson did not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Detroit Lions because of a sore shoulder.

8/18/2005

Doug Johnson, cin

According to Browns head coach Romeo Crennel, Johnson likely will not play in Saturday's exhibition game against the Detroit Lions, due to tendinitis in his shoulder. The quarterback has been sidelined most of the week with the ailment and currently is listed as day-to-day. Johnson is slated to serve as veteran Trent Dilfer's primary backup this season, but rookie Charlie Frye will fill that role until Johnson is back in action.

8/17/2005

David Pollack, cin

Pollack has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, agreeing to a five-year contract. A defensive end during his time in college at Georgia, Pollack is expected to shift to linebacker in the NFL. He was the 17th overall pick in this year's draft.

8/4/2005

Odell Thurman, cin

Thurman signed a five-year deal with the Bengals on Tuesday, ending his five-day holdout from training camp. The contract is worth a total of $4 million, with $2 million of that accounted for in his signing bonus. Cincinnati selected the linebacker out of Georgia in the second round of this year's draft. In two seasons with the Bulldogs, Thurman logged 9.5 sacks, 120 tackles and 66 assists. He also accounted for a pair of interceptions.

6/22/2005

Chad Johnson, cin

Johnson worked out with the Bengals last week and showed no ill effects from the arthroscopic surgery on his ankle that he underwent a month ago. The purpose of the procedure was to remove bone chips from the ankle, and the wideout reported no pain while running routes last week. Johnson is coming off three straight 1,000-yard seasons that saw him haul in a combined 24 touchdowns.

6/21/2005

Khalid Abdullah, cin

Abdullah has been waived by the Cincinnati Bengals. The linebacker, who was a fifth-round pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, had 10 tackles in 16 games during his rookie season, but missed the entire 2004 campaign with a dislocated ankle.

Craig Krenzel, cin

The Cincinnati Bengals have claimed Krenzel off waivers from the Chicago Bears, who cut ties with the 23-year-old quarterback last week. A fifth-round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, Krenzel appeared in six games with the Bears last season, going 59 of 127 for 718 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions. He fumbled eight times, losing six.

6/20/2005

Doug Johnson, cin

The Browns signed Johnson to a one-year deal on Monday, and the veteran backup is expected to hold down the No. 2 spot at quarterback behind Trent Dilfer this year. Johnson spent the first four years of his career in Atlanta before serving as the third QB in Tennessee in 2004. He has a 2-9 record in 11 NFL starts.

6/14/2005

Craig Krenzel, cin

Krenzel, a fifth-round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, was waived by the Chicago Bears on Tuesday. The quarterback won his first three NFL starts, marking the first time a Bears QB had done so in 40 years. He injured his ankle against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day and his season ended when he was placed on the injured reserve on December 7. For the season, Krenzel completed 59 of 127 passes for 718 yards. He threw three touchdowns and six interceptions.

5/13/2005

5/3/2005

Kevin Hardy, cin

The Bengals released Hardy on Tuesday, a move that likely signals the team's intention to put 2005 first-round draft pick David Pollack into the starting lineup. Hardy played in all 32 regular-season games for Cincinnati over the past two seasons, starting 30 of those contests and logging 101 tackles, 60 assists and 5.5 sacks from the middle and strongside linebacker positions. The nine-year NFL vet began his career in Jacksonville and also made a stop in Dallas in 2002.

David Pollack, cin

A standout defensive end at Georgia, Pollack was the 17th overall pick in the 2005 draft. He set a UGA record with 36 career sacks, but Cincinnati intends to convert him into a pro linebacker.

4/28/2005

Rashad Bauman, cin
