7/31/2006

Leinart did not report to training camp Sunday as contract negotiations cooled between the Cardinals and their first-round draft pick. Even as he vowed to stay out of the negotiations, coach Dennis Green blamed Leinart's camp for the failure to reach agreement.

Johnson agreed to terms with the Cardinals on Wednesday. Arizona's fifth round pick in the draft, Johnson, an outside linebacker, led Louisville with 72 tackles last season. He also had two sacks, two interceptions and a fumble recovery. Johnson finished his career with six blocked kicks and tied for the national lead with four as a freshman in 2002.

Arizona matched a $17.6 million, five-year offer sheet to Wells on Tuesday, keeping the guard on the roster. Buffalo had tried to sign Wells, but the Cardinals chose to match the offer, which included a $3 million signing bonus.
3/12/2006
Edgerrin James, ari
James signed a four-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals worth $30.5 million, $11.5 of which is guaranteed, in a surprising move Saturday. James will earn $14.75 million in 2006. The former University of Miami star had spent all of his seven seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, who had selected him with the fourth overall pick in the 1999 draft.
2/15/2006
Kurt Warner, ari
Warner agreed to an incentive-laced three-year contract Wednesday that reportedly could be worth $15-22 million. The Cardinals' quarterback had been prepared to sign with another team if Arizona didn't re-sign him. Warner hasn't played a full season since 2001.
2/13/2006
Robert Tate, ari
Tate re-signed with the Cardinals on Monday. Terms were not disclosed. The veteran cornerback played in 13 games for Arizona last season, starting five. Tate had 27 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble. He's also played for Minnesota and Baltimore in his nine-year career.
1/13/2006
Troy Walters, ari
Due to a groin injury, Walters was forced to leave the Colts' practice on Friday, and he has been listed as questionable for Sunday's playoff matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The receiver likely will be a game-time decision this weekend.
12/30/2005
Edgerrin James, ari
As was the case last weekend, James will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Arizona Cardinals, but his playing time will be limited in hopes of avoiding injury and being ready for the upcoming playoffs. The Colts' running back got 16 touches last week, and his carries are expected to be even fewer this time around. Dominic Rhodes and James Mungro will handle the bulk of the rushing load.
12/27/2005
Lamont Reid, ari
Reid has been placed on injured reserve by the Arizona Cardinals, ending his 2005 campaign. The undrafted rookie cornerback, who will miss the rest of the season with a knee ailment, finishes the year with 20 tackles in 10 games.
12/21/2005
Dyshod Carter, ari
Carter has re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals. The cornerback, who spent a few weeks with the club in October before being released, has seen limited action this season, notching two tackles in two games.
Rohan Davey, ari
Davey, who spent a few weeks with Arizona earlier this season before being released, has re-signed with the Cardinals. Reportedly, the new deal includes the last two games of the 2005 campaign, as well as all of 2006. With veteran quarterback Kurt Warner out for the season with a knee injury, Davey will supply the team with some depth at the position, backing up Josh McCown and John Navarre.
12/20/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
According to Cardinals head coach Dennis Green, Warner has a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee, an injury suffered early in Sunday's loss to the Houston Texans. The veteran quarterback is undergoing more tests to determine if surgery is necessary, but regardless, he will be placed on injured reserve and be sidelined for the rest of the season. Josh McCown will take over as the team's top signal caller. John Navarre will serve as the top backup.
Edgerrin James, ari
With home-field advantage throughout the playoffs secured and their perfect record no longer intact, the Indianapolis Colts will treat their final two games of the regular season as preseason contests, according to head coach Tony Dungy. The team does not want to risk any injuries to their regulars, so even though James should be in the starting lineup, his touches will be limited over the next couple of weeks.
12/19/2005
Edgerrin James, ari
James scored his 64th career rushing touchdown Sunday to set the Colts' franchise record, previously held by Lenny Moore (63) of the Baltimore Colts. Although James made history, he was held to a season-low 25 yards in the Colts' 26-17 loss to San Diego, their first of the season.
Anquan Boldin, ari

12/18/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
The Associated Press reports Warner is likely out for the rest of the season after injuring his knee in Sunday's loss at Houston. Warner stayed in the game into the second quarter, finishing the game 14-of-24 for 174 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
12/12/2005
Neil Rackers, ari
As the Cardinals had hoped, Rackers returned to action in Sunday's meeting with the Washington Redskins after missing one game with a partially torn left calf muscle. The kicker was perfect on the day, hitting both of his field-goal attempts and his only point-after try.
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin continued his role as Kurt Warner's favorite target in Sunday's loss to the Washington Redskins, hauling in nine passes for 114 yards. Since returning from a two-game absence (knee), the Cardinals' receiver has 38 catches for 490 yards and two touchdowns in four games, topping the 100-yard mark in each contest.
12/8/2005
Marcel Shipp, ari
Shipp missed last weekend's win over the San Francisco 49ers with a neck injury, but he was back on the field for the Cardinals' practice on Wednesday. 12/7/2005
Neil Rackers, ari
According to Cardinals head coach Dennis Green, Rackers could return to action as early as this Sunday's matchup with the Washington Redskins. A final decision is expected by Friday or Saturday.
12/6/2005
Alex Stepanovich, ari
Due to shoulder problem, Stepanovich has been placed on injured reserve by the Arizona Cardinals. The offensive lineman, who started nine games this season, will miss the remainder of the 2005 campaign. Linebacker Isaac Keys was re-signed to fill the void on the roster.
Isaac Keys, ari
Keys has re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals, filling the roster spot of offensive lineman Alex Stepanovich, who will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury. The linebacker was cut last week to make room for kicker Nick Novak.
12/5/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
Warner completed 29 of 45 passes for 354 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's victory at San Francisco. For the Cardinals' quarterback, this marked the fourth 300-yard passing performance in five games since returning from a groin strain.
Edgerrin James, ari
With Sunday's performance against the Tennessee Titans, James became the third-fastest player in NFL history to rush for 9,000 yards, accomplishing the feat in 93 games. The running back, who had 107 yards on 28 carries in the contest, ranks behind Eric Dickerson (82 games) and Jim Brown (88).
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin caught a season-high 11 passes for 156 yards in Sunday's victory at San Francisco, including a 54-yard touchdown reception. The game was the third consecutive 100-yard receiving effort for the Cardinals' receiver, and his sixth on the season.
Larry Fitzgerald, ari
Fitzgerald caught eight passes for 129 yards in Sunday's 17-10 victory at San Francisco. It was the fourth 100-yard receiving game in the last five weeks for the Cardinals' receiver, and his seventh 100-yard effort on the season.
12/4/2005
Isaac Keys, ari
Keys has been released by the Arizona Cardinals, opening a spot on the roster for kicker Nick Novak, who was signed on Friday to fill in for the injured Neil Rackers. A reserve linebacker, Keys notched just one tackle in three games this season.
12/3/2005
Marcel Shipp, ari
Shipp has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers after being unable to practice all week because of a neck injury. The running back was injured during last week's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
J.J. Arrington, ari
Arrington will start at running back when the Cardinals take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Arrington replaces Marcel Shipp, who is sidelined with a neck injury.
12/2/2005
Neil Rackers, ari
Tests have revealed that Rackers has a partial tear in his left calf muscle, an injury suffered during practice on Thursday. The kicker is expected to miss at least 2-3 weeks. The team is hopeful Rackers will be back before the end of the season, so he won't be placed on injured reserve at this point.
Antrel Rolle, ari
Barring any setbacks, Rolle could return to the Cardinals' defensive backfield in time for a December 11 meeting with the Washington Redskins. The rookie cornerback, who was the eighth overall pick in this year's draft, has been sidelined since undergoing surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee more than two months ago. He did some individual work at the Cardinals' practice on Thursday, but did not take part in team drills.
Nick Novak, ari
Novak has signed with the Arizona Cardinals after working out for the club on Friday. With regular starter Neil Rackers sidelined indefinitely with a partially torn calf muscle, Novak will handle the team's kicking duties for at least the next couple of weeks.
12/1/2005
Neil Rackers, ari
Rackers left the Cardinals' practice facilities on crutches Thursday after injuring his left calf in practice earlier in the day. The kicker will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the damage, but he's expected to miss at least one game. The team will bring in possible replacements on Friday.
Marcel Shipp, ari
Shipp was unable to practice with the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday, due to the neck injury he suffered in last weekend's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The running back currently is listed as doubtful for Sunday's matchup with San Francisco 49ers and will be replaced in the starting lineup by rookie J.J. Arrington if he's unable to go. If Shipp is able to work out with the team over the next couple of days, he could be upgraded, according to head coach Dennis Green.
J.J. Arrington, ari
Arrington got the majority of the reps out of the Cardinals' practice on Wednesday, as regular starter Marcel Shipp was unable to take the field, due to a neck injury. At this point, Shipp is listed as doubtful for Sunday's meeting with the San Francisco 49ers, and if he cannot go, the rookie running back will get the starting nod for Arizona. In 10 games this season, Arrington has 224 yards and two touchdowns on 63 carries, along with 17 catches for 106 yards.
11/29/2005
Edgerrin James, ari
Despite failing to reach the end zone for the first time in seven games, James notched his eighth 100-yard performance of the 2005 campaign in Monday night's victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Colts' running back, who currently ranks second in the league in rushing behind Seattle's Shaun Alexander, also did not have a reception for the first time this year.
11/28/2005
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin matched a season high with 10 catches in Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Cardinals' receiver, who finished with 115 yards, has topped the century mark in five of nine games this season, including two straight.
11/23/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
Warner was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday after completing 27 of 39 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns in the Cardinals 38-28 victory over the Rams on Sunday. A two-time Most Valuable Player with St. Louis, Warner won his first game as a Cardinal and had his first three-touchdown game since Jan. 6, 2002.
Adrian Wilson, ari
Wilson had the first multi-sack game of his career, recording three in the Cardinals 38-28 win over the Rams on Sunday. The four-year veteran only has eight sacks in his entire career.
Bryant Johnson, ari
Johnson continues to be slowed by the shoulder injury he suffered in practice nearly three weeks ago. Barring a miraculous recovery over the next few days, he will not be available for Sunday's matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. In eight games this season, Johnson has 21 catches for 212 yards and one touchdown.
Shawn Lynch, ari
Looking to add some insurance on their struggling and banged-up frontline, the Arizona Cardinals re-signed Lynch on Tuesday. The center was in the team's starting lineup for the regular-season opener, replacing the injured Alex Stepanovich, but was released a short time later. Tight end Teyo Johnson was cut to open a spot on the roster.
11/21/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
Returning to St. Louis to face his former team, Warner helped lead the Cardinals to a 38-28 victory over the Rams on Sunday. The veteran quarterback posted a season-best 115.9 passer rating, going 27 of 39 for 285 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He was sacked only once, but fumbled two times, losing one.
Edgerrin James, ari
James failed to reach the century mark for the first time in six games, rushing for 89 yards on 24 carries in Sunday's victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. However, the Colts' running back, who also had three catches for 18 yards, found the end zone twice in the win, giving him 10 TDs over his last six contests.
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin did not appear limited by the bruised knee that forced him to miss the Cardinals' previous two games, hauling in eight passes for 105 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-28 victory over the St. Louis Rams. The third-year receiver has eight or more catches in four of the eight contests in which he has played this season.
Larry Fitzgerald, ari
Fitzgerald continues to produce for the Arizona Cardinals, notching his sixth 100-yard game of the season -- and third in a row -- in Sunday's victory over the St. Louis Rams. The receiver hauled in nine passes for 104 yards and a touchdown, despite the return of fellow wideout Anquan Boldin, who also topped the century mark and found the end zone.
11/18/2005
Anquan Boldin, ari
After being limited to individual work the previous day, Boldin practiced at full speed and took part in all team drills during the Cardinals' workout on Thursday. As a result, the receiver has been upgraded from questionable to probable on this week's injury report, and he fully intends to be in the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with the St. Louis Rams. He missed the team's last two games with a bruised knee.
11/16/2005
Bertrand Berry, ari
Berry officially will miss the remainder of the 2005 campaign after being placed on injured reserve by the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday. Initially, the Cards held off on making the move, as they were optimistic that the Pro Bowl defensive end could return from a torn left pectoral muscle before the end of the season. He has been sidelined since suffering the injury November 6 against Seattle.
Anton Palepoi, ari
Filling the roster spot of Pro Bowl defensive end Bertrand Berry, who will miss the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle, Palepoi has signed with the Arizona Cardinals. The defensive lineman has appeared in 32 games since being selected in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft (Seattle), notching 39 tackles, four sacks and a forced fumble.
Jack Brewer, ari
Brewer has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. The safety was in training camp with the New York Giants this summer, but was released prior to the start of the regular season. He takes the roster spot of rookie Sean Considine, who will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign with a dislocated shoulder.
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin was limited to individual drills during the Cardinals' practice on Wednesday, but he reported no problems with the bruised knee that prevented him from playing in the club's last two games. The receiver will work out at full speed with the team on Thursday, and barring any setbacks, he will be available for Sunday's matchup with the St. Louis Rams.
Jeremy Bridges, ari
Bridges, who appeared in three games with Arizona earlier this year before being released, has re-signed with the Cardinals. The guard fills the roster spot of injured offensive lineman Reggie Wells, out for the season with a fractured and dislocated ankle.
11/15/2005
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin has reported improvement in his ailing right knee, and barring any setbacks, he will test out the leg at the Cardinals' practice on Wednesday. If there is no swelling or major soreness the following day, the receiver plans to return to the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with the St. Louis Rams. He has missed the team's last two games with a bone bruise in the knee.
Reggie Wells, ari
Wells will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign after dislocating and fracturing his left ankle in the first half of last Sunday's loss to the Detroit Lions. The right guard will be replaced in the Cardinals' starting lineup by either Jeremy Bridges or Adam Haayer.
11/14/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
Attempting to lead the Cardinals to a comeback victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Warner completed 29 of his 45 pass attempts for a season-high 359 yards, along with one touchdown and no interceptions. In addition, the 34-year-old quarterback avoided being sacked for the first time in five games this season.
Edgerrin James, ari
James displayed his consistency once again in Sunday's 31-17 victory over the Houston Texans, topping the century mark for the seventh time in nine games this season. The Colts' running back rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. Receiver Marvin Harrison and James now have posted 100 yards or more in the same game 21 times, breaking the previous NFL record of 20 held by the Cowboys' Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin.
Bryant Johnson, ari
According to Cardinals head coach Dennis Green, Johnson is at least another week from returning to action, due the shoulder injury he suffered in practice last Thursday. The team expects to be without the receiver's services for Sunday's matchup with the St. Louis Rams.
Larry Fitzgerald, ari
With Anquan Boldin and Bryant Johnson out with injury, Fitzgerald again was forced to step up his game and serve as Kurt Warner's primary target in the Cardinals' passing attack. The receiver did not disappoint, hauling in nine passes for 141 yards and a touchdown. It was his fifth 100-yard outing of the season and second in a row.
11/13/2005
Bryant Johnson, ari
Johnson will not play in today's game against the Detroit Lions.
LeRon McCoy, ari
With Anquan Boldin on the mend and Bryant Johnson out with a bum shoulder, McCoy will get his first NFL start today when the Cardinals take on the Detroit Lions.
11/12/2005
Bryant Johnson, ari
Johnson has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions because of a shoulder injury.
11/11/2005
Bertrand Berry, ari
Berry will not require surgery to repair his torn left pectoral muscle, so the Arizona Cardinals are holding off on placing him on injured reserve, which would officially end his 2005 campaign. However, the defensive end is expected to be sidelined for at least a month, and there is no guarantee that he will be back this season.
Bryant Johnson, ari
Johnson's availability for Sunday's matchup with the Detroit Lions is now up in the air after the receiver sprained his shoulder while trying to catch a pass during Thursday's practice. The Cardinals' wideout, who has been listed as questionable on the injury report, will be evaluated over the next couple of days and likely will be a game-time decision this weekend.
11/10/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
As long as the team is doing well, Warner will remain under center for the Arizona Cardinals for the foreseeable future, according to head coach Dennis Green. The veteran quarterback began the 2005 campaign on top of the depth chart, but suffered a groin injury and forced the team to turn to backup Josh McCown. In the games Warner has started this season, the Cardinals are 0-4. McCown led the team to a 2-2 record when getting the nod.
11/9/2005
J.J. Arrington, ari
Arrington has been nursing a sprained shoulder recently, and he'll likely be limited in practice over the next couple of days as a precautionary measure. The rookie running back, who was a second-round pick in this year's draft, will be listed as questionable on the Cardinals' injury report this week.
11/8/2005
Bertrand Berry, ari
Tests have revealed that Berry has a torn left pectoral muscle, an injury suffered in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Although it has yet to be determined whether surgery will be necessary, the defensive end is expected to miss the remainder of the 2005 campaign. In eight games this season, he has 34 tackles, six sacks and a forced fumble.
Edgerrin James, ari
In Monday night's victory over the New England Patriots, James rushed for more than 100 yards for the sixth time in his last seven games, including four straight. The Colts' running back, who has been consistent all season, finished with 104 yards and a touchdown on 34 carries. He has scored seven times in his last four contests.
Neil Rackers, ari
Rackers has re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals, agreeing to a four-year contract extension. Official financial terms of the new deal were not released. The kicker has yet to miss this season, nailing all 26 field-goal attempts, including 13 of 40 yards or more.
Langston Moore, ari
Making his first start of the 2005 campaign, Moore suffered a dislocated shoulder in Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Cardinals expect the defensive tackle to be sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks, meaning Ross Kolodziej will step in and fill the void in the lineup for the time being.
11/7/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
As anticipated, Warner returned to the Cardinals' starting lineup for Sunday's battle with the Seattle Seahawks after missing some time with a strained groin. The veteran quarterback completed 29 of his 48 pass attempts for a season-high 334 yards and a touchdown, but tossed three interceptions, was sacked four times and lost a fumble in the 33-19 loss.
Neil Rackers, ari
Rackers' busy and impressive 2005 campaign continued in Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, as he converted all four of his field-goal attempts and his only point-after try. The Cardinals' kicker has yet to miss this season, nailing all 26 field-goal attempts, including 13 of 40 yards or more.
Larry Fitzgerald, ari
Fitzgerald topped the century mark for the fourth time this season, hauling in eight passes for 102 yards in Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The receiver is quietly putting together a solid 2005 campaign, posting 52 catches for 713 yards and four touchdowns in eight contests.
11/5/2005
Nick Novak, ari
With John Hall evidently fully recovered from a quad injury, the Redskins released Novak on Saturday. Novak hit 5 of 7 field goals and all 15 extra-point attempts in five games for the Redskins.
11/2/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
Head coach Dennis Green has decided to make another switch, naming Warner as the Cardinals' starting quarterback for this week's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. The veteran signal caller lost the top job to Josh McCown after suffering a strained groin in Week 3, but he has since recovered from the injury. In three games this season, Warner is 64 of 101 for 696 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
Anquan Boldin, ari
The Arizona Cardinals still do not have a specific timetable for Boldin's return to the lineup, but reportedly, the receiver could be out up to a month. Boldin, who has 39 catches for 616 yards and three touchdowns in seven games this season, suffered a bone bruise in his right knee and was forced to leave Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
11/1/2005
Dyshod Carter, ari
Carter has been released by the Arizona Cardinals, opening a spot on the roster for receiver Reggie Newhouse, who inked with the club on Tuesday. The cornerback has seen limited action with the Cards this season, notching two tackles in two games.
Bryant Johnson, ari
Anquan Boldin is expected to miss some time with a bone bruise in his right knee, so until he is able to return to action, the Arizona Cardinals will look to Johnson to fill the void in the lineup. The receiver will step in opposite Larry Fitzgerald beginning with this weekend's meeting with the Seattle Seahawks.
Anquan Boldin, ari
Tests on Boldin's ailing right knee have revealed a bone bruise, not a torn meniscus as originally feared. The Cardinals don't have an exact timetable for the receiver's return to the lineup, but he should be back on the field sooner than expected. He will receive treatment and be evaluated on a daily basis.
10/31/2005
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the right knee injury that knocked him out of Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but according to Cardinals head coach Dennis Green, initial tests have indicated that the receiver has a torn meniscus. He suffered the same injury in training camp last season and was forced to miss the first six games of the 2004 campaign. His status will be updated in the next day or two.
10/26/2005
J.J. Moses, ari
Moses has re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals. The receiver/kick returner originally was claimed off waivers from the Chicago Bears late in training camp, but was cut shortly thereafter when the Cardinals inked fellow wideout Reggie Swinton. He fills the roster spot of Charles Lee, who was let go earlier this week.
10/25/2005
Charles Lee, ari
Lee has been waived by the Arizona Cardinals. Buried on the depth chart behind Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin and Bryant Johnson, the receiver saw limited action in six games this season, but hauled in 11 passes for 152 yards. His spot on the roster will be filled in the coming days.
10/24/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
Warner, who has recovered from the groin injury he suffered in Week 3, split snaps with Josh McCown in practice last week, but the Cardinals did not reveal their starter until just prior to Sunday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans. McCown got the nod, while the veteran Warner served as the primary backup.
Edgerrin James, ari
After scoring just one rushing touchdown in his first four games of the 2005 campaign, James has found the end zone six times in his last three contests and currently leads the NFL in rushing yardage. In Sunday's victory over the Houston Texans, the Colts' running back scampered for 139 yards and two TDs on 21 carries, leading the team to a 38-20 win.
Anquan Boldin, ari
After turning in 100-yard performances in three of his previous four games, including two straight, Boldin was held without a catch in Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans. Going into the contest, the Cardinals' receiver had been averaging 7.2 receptions per game this season.
10/20/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
According to head coach Dennis Green, the Cardinals have decided who will be under center when the team takes the field against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, but the starter won't be named officially until just prior to kickoff. Warner, who has been sidelined since Week 3 with a groin injury, returned to practice earlier this week and has been splitting first-team snaps with Josh McCown.
10/18/2005
Edgerrin James, ari
James had his best game of the season on Monday night against the Rams, rushing for 143 yards and scoring three touchdowns. He added three receptions for 16 yards. This was the fourth 100-yard game of the season for the Colts' running back.
10/17/2005
Calvin Pace, ari
Pace required a medical procedure to repair damage to his arm after falling through a window at his home over the weekend. The Cardinals' defensive end, who was a first-round pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, will miss the rest of the season, according to head coach Dennis Green. He will be placed on injured reserve.
10/12/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
Warner was able to practice with the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday, and if his groin continues to show improvement over the coming days, the veteran quarterback is confident that he'll be ready and available when the team resumes play in Week 7. However, there is no guarantee that the starting job will be waiting for Warner upon his return, as Josh McCown has looked good in his absence.
10/10/2005
Edgerrin James, ari
Despite losing his first fumble of the season, James posted solid totals in Sunday's victory over the San Francisco 49ers, rushing for 105 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries and hauling in four passes for 42 yards. The Colts' running back has at least 20 carries and more than 85 yards rushing in each of his five games this season.
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin topped the century mark for the third time in four games, including two straight, hauling in 10 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Carolina Panthers. The Cardinals' receiver now has posted double-digit receptions three times in his three-year NFL career.
Larry Fitzgerald, ari
After notching just seven catches in Week 2 and 3 combined, Fitzgerald has been more involved in the Cardinals' passing attack the last two games. Over that span, the second-year receiver has hauled in 16 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns.
10/6/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
As anticipated, Warner has been ruled out of Sunday's matchup with the Carolina Panthers, due to the strained groin he suffered in a game against the Seattle Seahawks nearly two weeks ago. With a bye next week, the Cardinals are choosing not to push the veteran quarterback too quickly and risk further aggravation of the injury. Josh McCown will remain in the starting lineup for the time being.
Gerald Hayes, ari
Hayes has been slow to recover from arthroscopic surgery to repair cartilage and meniscus damage in his knee, prompting the Arizona Cardinals to place him on injured reserve. The linebacker, who has been sidelined since hurting the knee in a preseason meeting with the Dallas Cowboys, will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign.
Antonio Smith, ari
The Arizona Cardinals have promoted Smith from their practice squad, filling the roster spot of linebacker Gerald Hayes, who will miss the rest of the season with a left knee injury. The defensive end was with the club in training camp, but was cut just prior to the start of the regular season. He joined the practice squad shortly thereafter.
Antrel Rolle, ari
According to head coach Dennis Green, the Cardinals will hold off on placing Rolle on injured reserve for the time being. The team is hopeful that the cornerback will recover from his knee surgery quickly and be available to contribute in the closing weeks of the 2005 campaign. Earlier this week, Green indicated that Rolle was likely lost for the season.
10/3/2005
Neil Rackers, ari
Rackers was a busy man in Sunday night's victory over the San Francisco 49ers, nailing a career-high six field goals, including four from 40 yards or more. The Cardinals' kicker is perfect on the season, converting all 16 of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries.
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin tied his season high with eight receptions in Sunday's victory over the San Francisco 49ers and notched his first touchdown of the 2005 campaign. The Cardinals' receiver finished the contest with 116 yards and now has 385 yards receiving in four games on the year.
Antrel Rolle, ari
After further evaluation, ligament damage has been found in Rolle's ailing left knee, and he will be forced to undergo surgery, according to Cardinals head coach Dennis Green. The rookie cornerback, who was the eighth overall pick in this year's draft, will miss the rest of the season.
10/1/2005
Troy Walters, ari
Walters, who has been out with a hamstring problem, returned to practice on Friday and is expected to serve as the Colts' punt returner and fourth wide receiver when they face the Tennesee Titans on Sunday.
9/30/2005
James Darling, ari
James is slated to return to the Arizona Cardinals' starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City after missing the team's last two games with a strained ligament and bruise in his knee. The linebacker made it through Thursday's practice without any problems.
9/29/2005
Robert Tate, ari
Tate has re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals. The reserve cornerback, who was released late in training camp, appeared in 14 games last season, notching 12 tackles and one forced fumble. He saw the majority of his playing time on special teams. Linebacker Lester Towns was waived to make room on the roster.
Antrel Rolle, ari
To determine if surgery is necessary on his ailing left knee, Rolle has traveled to Miami to be evaluated by a specialist. According to Cardinals head coach Dennis Green, if the cornerback is forced to go under the knife as expected, he will be sidelined for at least a month. Rolle already has been listed as out for Sunday's meeting with the San Francisco 49ers.
J.J. Arrington, ari
Arrington has had trouble getting on track this season, especially when it comes to blocking in pass coverage. As a result, the rookie running back has lost his starting spot in the Cardinals lineup to veteran Marcel Shipp.
Nick Novak, ari
Novak is expected to handle the Redskins' kicking duties in Sunday's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, as regular kicker still is not back to full strength after suffering a quadriceps injury in the team's season opener earlier this month. Novak has yet to attempt a field goal in a regular-season NFL game, but he's 2-for-2 on point-after tries.
9/28/2005
Rohan Davey, ari
After being released late in training camp by the New England Patriots, Davey has signed with the Arizona Cardinals. The signal caller will serve as the team's emergency third-string quarterback at least until regular starter Kurt Warner is able to return from the groin injury he suffered last week. Josh McCown will step into the starting role, while John Navarre will handle the primary backup duties.
9/27/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
After an earlier report stated that Warner may miss only this Sunday night's game against the 49ers, new information from team sources says that the veteran quarterback may miss up to a month. The former league MVP suffered a groin injury during a scramble in last Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. Warner will be replaced in the starting lineup by reserve Josh McCown.
9/26/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
Warner was unable to return to the Cardinals' lineup after straining his right groin while scrambling in the second quarter of Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Following the game, the veteran quarterback was optimistic about his chances of playing next weekend, but said a final decision likely would not be made until late in the week. He was replaced in the lineup by Josh McCown. Prior to his departure, Warner was 8 of 13 for 105 yards with no touchdowns.
Edgerrin James, ari
James topped 100 yards rushing for the second consecutive week and scored his first touchdown of the 2005 campaign, helping lead the Colts to a 13-6 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The running back picked up 108 yards on 27 carries and hauled in two passes for 29 yards. His two-yard TD run came in the first quarter.
9/22/2005
J.J. Arrington, ari
After missing nearly a week with a nasty stomach virus, Arrington has resumed practicing with the Arizona Cardinals. The rookie running back is not listed on the team's injury report this week, and he's slated to return to action in Sunday's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. In his NFL debut in Week 1, Arrington had just five yards on eight carries, but added four receptions for 22 yards.
John Bronson, ari
Bronson, who has been sidelined since hurtring his left knee in the Cardinals' season opener, will miss the rest of the season after being placed on injured reserve. The tight end is an undrafted rookie out of Penn State. He will be replaced on the roster by cornerback Lamont Reid.
9/21/2005
Marcel Shipp, ari
With rookie J.J. Arrington sidelined with a stomach virus, Shipp got the starting nod against the St. Louis Rams last weekend, as anticipated. The veteran running back picked up 54 yards on 12 carries and hauled in five passes for 39 yards. Because of Arrington's early season struggles, Shipp likely will remain atop the Cardinals' depth chart again this week and could keep the job the rest of the season.
9/19/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
Warner went 29 for 42 for 327 yards in Sunday's loss to the St. Louis Rams, but failed to drive the Cardinals into the end zone. The veteran quarterback threw an interception, was sacked five times and fumbled three times, losing one. He finished with an 82.1 passer rating.
Edgerrin James, ari
James topped the 100-yard plateau for the first time this season, rushing for 128 yards on 27 carries in Sunday's 10-3 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts' running back also hauled in four passes for 39 yards, but he has yet to score a touchdown in 2005.
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin hauled in eight passes for 119 yards in Sunday's 17-12 loss to the St. Louis Rams. The third-year receiver now has topped the 100-yard plateau eight times in 28 career games. However, he has found the end zone just once in his last 13 contests.
9/18/2005
Marcel Shipp, ari
Reportedly J.J. Arrington will be out on Sunday because of a stomach virus that kept him from practicing late in the week, and Shipp could get most of the carries for Arizona if Arrington is on the sidelines. Shipp ran for 10 yards on seven attempts last week against the New York Giants.
J.J. Arrington, ari
Reportedly Arrington isn't expected to play on Sunday for Arizona, because of the stomach virus that kept the running back from practicing late in the week. Most sources thought Arrington would be ready to go against St. Louis, but he may not be on the active roster.
9/16/2005
J.J. Arrington, ari
Arrington is expected to get the starting nod in Sunday's meeting with the St. Louis Rams despite missing Thursday's practice with a stomach virus. The rookie running back is slated to split carries with veteran Marcel Shipp. Making his regular-season debut last weekend, Arrington picked up just five yards on eight carries and hauled in four passes for 22 yards.
9/15/2005
James Darling, ari
Reportedly, Darling will miss at least the Cardinals' next two games after straining a ligament in his knee during the team's season opener against the New York Giants. The linebacker, who also has some bruising in the joint, has been listed as doubtful on this week's injury report.
9/14/2005
Alex Stepanovich, ari
Stepanovich is expected to return to the Arizona Cardinals' starting lineup this week after recovering from surgery on his right (snapping) hand. The center missed the team's regular-season opener last week, but was replaced by Shawn Lynch, who was waived on Tuesday.
Nick Novak, ari
Novak has signed with the Washington Redskins. With regular starter John Hall expected to miss at least Monday's meeting with the Dallas Cowboys because of a strained right quadriceps muscle, Novak is slated to handle the team's kicking duties for the time being. He spent training camp with the Chicago Bears, but was released prior to the start of the regular season.
9/13/2005
James Hodgins, ari
Hodgins will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee early in Sunday's season-opening loss to the New York Giants. The Cardinals' fullback, who sat out all last year with a shoulder injury, will be forced to undergo surgery and be placed on injured reserve.
J.J. Arrington, ari
In his regular-season debut on Sunday, Arrington picked up just five yards on eight carries and hauled in four passes for 22 yards. The Cardinals' rookie running back, who was a second-round pick in this year's draft, split time in the backfield with Marcel Shipp. Arizona's rushing attack was led by quarterback Kurt Warner's 11 yards on the day.
Shawn Lynch, ari
Lynch has been released by the Arizona Cardinals, opening a spot on the roster for linebacker Lester Towns, who re-signed with the club on Tuesday. The center got the starting nod in last Sunday's season opener against the New York Giants, but he became expendable with regular No. 1 snapper Alex Stepanovich returning to action this week.
9/12/2005
Larry Fitzgerald, ari
Fitzgerald had a huge game in Arizona's loss to the Giants on Sunday. He was Kurt Warner's favorite target, hauling in a career-high 13 passes for 155 yards and one touchdown. Arizona should continue to throw the ball often, since their running game may struggle this year (31 yards on 21 carries on Sunday).
9/7/2005
Troy Walters, ari
Just two days after being released by the club, Walters has re-signed with the Indianapolis Colts. The receiver sat out nearly three months with a broken arm last year, but returned late in the campaign and notched one catch for five yards in five games. He also saw action on special teams, averaging 5.7 yards on seven punt returns.
9/6/2005
J.J. Moses, ari
Moses could not make an impression during his brief stint with Arizona, and he has been released by the Cardinals. The receiver/kick returner was claimed off waivers from the Chicago Bears last week, but was cut when the Cardinals inked fellow wideout Reggie Swinton on Monday.
9/5/2005
Reggie Swinton, ari
Two days after his release by the Houston Texans, Swinton signed on with the Arizona Cardinals. The return specialist brought back 16 punts and 18 kickoffs for the Detroit Lions last season, and also logged 18 receptions for 213 yards and a touchdown as a backup wide receiver.
9/4/2005
Reggie Swinton, ari
The Texans released Swinton on Saturday. The return specialist brought back 16 punts and 18 kickoffs for the Lions last season, and also logged 18 receptions for 213 yards and a touchdown.
9/1/2005
Eric Edwards, ari
Edwards continues to recover from the pectoral injury he suffered early in training camp, and the Cardinals expect him end to be ready for the start of the regular season. The tight end has been practicing with the team this week, and barring any last-minute setbacks, he will see some action in Friday's preseason finale against the Denver Broncos.
8/31/2005
J.J. Moses, ari
The Cardinals claimed Moses off of waivers Tuesday after he was released by the Chicago Bears. The return specialist will be expected to replace J.R. Redmond, who was placed on injured reserve on Monday. Last year, he averaged 22.1 yards on 59 kickoff returns and 8.6 yards on 36 punt returns.
8/30/2005
J.R. Redmond, ari
Tests have revealed that Redmond's dislocated left shoulder is a more serious injury that initially thought, and the running back will miss the entire 2005 campaign. Redmond, who was hurt in Friday's exhibition game against the Oakland Raiders, has been placed on injured reserve by the Arizona Cardinals.
Alex Stepanovich, ari
Stepanovich, who started all 16 games in 2004, has missed the last couple of weeks after undergoing surgery on his right (snapping) hand earlier this month. Barring any setbacks, the Cardinals' center should return to practice next week, but he might be forced to slide over to guard, at least until his hand has had a chance to fully heal.
8/29/2005
Antonio Cochran, ari
Cochran has been released by the Seattle Seahawks. The defensive end has spent his entire career with the Seahawks after being selected in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL Draft. In 16 games last season, he recorded 36 tackles, one interception, three forced fumbles and a career-high 6.5 sacks.
Rohan Davey, ari
Davey has been released by the New England Patriots. The quarterback, who has been with the team since being selected in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL Draft, lost out to rookie Matt Cassel in the competition for the third spot on the depth chart. In seven career games, he is 8 of 19 for 88 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
8/27/2005
J.R. Redmond, ari
A dislocated left shoulder forced Cardinals' return man J.R. Redmond to leave Friday night's game against the Raiders in the first quarter. After fumbling the punt, Redmond recovered the ball, but was hit hard on the play. Redmond, who is in line to make a contribution only as a return man, undoubtedly would have loved to have a better showing against his former Raider teammates.
8/26/2005
Troy Walters, ari
Walters has nearly recovered from the hip flexor injury that forced him to miss the Colts' last two preseason contests, and he is expected to see some time in Saturday's exhibition meeting with the Denver Broncos. The receiver currently is listed at fourth on the team's depth chart behind starters Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne, as well as No. 3 Brandon Stokley, who hopes to be fully recovered from a shoulder injury by the start of the regular season.
8/24/2005
J.J. Arrington, ari
Despite the return of a healthy Marcel Shipp, Arrington will remain in the starting tailback role to begin the 2005 regular season, according to Cardinals head coach Dennis Green. The running back was a second-round pick in this year's draft.
8/22/2005
Troy Hambrick, ari
Hambrick has been released by the Arizona Cardinals. The running back, who signed a two-year contract earlier this year, was limited in training camp by a foot injury.
8/19/2005
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin has been limited over the past couple of weeks with a broken nose, but he plans to make his 2005 debut when the Cardinals take the field in Saturday's exhibition game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The third-year receiver is expected to line up opposite Larry Fitzgerald in Arizona's starting lineup, bumping Byrant Johnson to the No. 3 role.
8/18/2005
Gerald Hayes, ari
Initially, the Cardinals had hoped that Hayes would miss just a couple of weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to repair cartilage and meniscus damage in his knee. However, following the procedure, the linebacker has been ruled out for at least eight weeks, according to head coach Dennis Green.
8/17/2005
Marcel Shipp, ari
Shipp has been practicing with the Cardinals this week, and there is a chance he could see some action in Saturday's exhibition meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs. The team has been cautious with the running back, who missed all of last season with a broken leg and dislocated ankle.
J.J. Moses, ari
Moses has signed with the Chicago Bears, agreeing to a two-year contract. The receiver is expected to claim the team's return duties with Jerry Azumah recovering from hip surgery and R.W. McQuarters now with the Detroit Lions.
Gerald Hayes, ari
Hayes has cartilage and meniscus damage in his knee and will be forced to undergo arthroscopic surgery in the next couple of days. The Cardinals' linebacker, who suffered the injury in the first half of Saturday's exhibition win over the Dallas Cowboys, is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks, according to head coach Dennis Green. A better timetable for his return will be determined after the procedure.
8/16/2005
Alex Stepanovich, ari
According to Cardinals head coach Dennis Green, the team does not know when Stepanovich will be able to resume his duties as starting center, and there's a chance that he might not be ready for the start of the regular season. The offensive lineman, who started all 16 games in 2004, will not be able to practice for at least a couple of weeks after undergoing surgery on his right (snapping) hand last week.
8/15/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
Although he stayed in the lineup until just midway through the second quarter, Warner made the most of his time on the field, making his debut with the Arizona Cardinals in Saturday's exhibition game against Dallas. The veteran quarterback, who signed a one-year, $4 million contract this offseason, completed 14 of 19 pass attempts for 151 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown connection with Larry Fitzgerald. He did not throw an interception and avoided being sacked.
8/12/2005
Anquan Boldin, ari
After missing nearly a week with a broken nose, Boldin is back on the field with the Arizona Cardinals. The receiver originally was expected to be sidelined for 2-3 weeks, but got clearance from the team's medical staff and worked out on Thursday. He will be back to full strength by the start of the regular season.
8/9/2005
Antrel Rolle, ari
On Tuesday, the Arizona Cardinals signed their first-round draft pick Antrel Rolle to a six-year contract -- financial terms of the deal were not released. The Cardinals were eager to get the rookie cornerback in camp to help bolster their defensive backfield. Rolle was the second defensive back taken in the 2005 draft, and the eighth pick overall.
8/5/2005
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin is expected to miss two to three weeks after breaking his nose in practice on Thursday. The Cardinals' receiver, who had 56 catches for 623 yards and one touchdown in 10 games in 2004, plans to be ready for the start of the regular season.
Eric Edwards, ari
Edwards should be back on the field by the start of the regular season after further tests revealed his pectoral injury is not as serious as first thought. The Cardinals' tight end, who is expected to start for the team this year, could have missed the entire 2005 campaign if the muscle and/or tendon was completely torn.
8/4/2005
Marcel Shipp, ari
The Cardinals activated Shipp from the physically unable to perform list on Wednesday, allowing the running back to return to practice for the first time this year.
Eric Edwards, ari
Projected as the starting tight end for the Cardinals this year, Edwards suffered a partial tear in his pectoral muscle. The injury could sideline Edwards for the entire season.
8/3/2005
Troy Hambrick, ari
The Cardinals have placed Hambrick on the active-physically unable to perform list, though he is eligible to come off that list at any time during training camp. The running back has been unable to participate in training camp due to a foot injury. Hambrick played in 10 games for Arizona last season, finishing with 63 rushes for 283 yards. The five-year NFL veteran has found the end zone just 10 times in his pro career.
Marcel Shipp, ari
Shipp has yet to participate in Arizona's training-camp workouts this summer, and the running back remains on the active-physically unable to perform list. The incumbent starter, who missed all of the 2004 season with a broken left fibula and dislocated left ankle, has been sidelined by a hamstring injury that occurred during offseason workouts. Shipp played in all 16 games for the Cardinals in 2003, making 11 starts and rushing for 830 yards on 228 carries.
8/2/2005
Wendell Bryant, ari
The Cardinals released Bryant on Saturday, officially cutting ties with the player who they selected with the 12th overall pick in the 2002 draft. Bryant logged just 1.5 sacks in 29 career games (nine starts) with Arizona, without a single forced fumble or recovery. He played in just three regular-season contests last season, recording a single lone tackle. Head coach Dennis Green said that Bryant no longer was a good fit for the team.
8/1/2005
Edgerrin James, ari
James reversed his original position on Monday and now says he plans to be with the team when Indianapolis travels to Tokyo to face the Falcons in the American Bowl on Saturday. James originally indicated that he would not make the trip amidst speculation that his decision was due to his aversion both to preseason games and flying. When asked again on Monday if he had decided to go to Japan, James said that he "didn't have a lot of options."
Anquan Boldin, ari
The Cardinals reached an agreement with Boldin on Sunday on a four-year contract extension that could keep the emerging star in Arizona through the 2010 campaign. The wideout still has two years remaining on the original deal he signed after Arizona selected him in the second round of the 2003 draft. Including the final two years of his current deal, Boldin stands to make as much as $23.5 million over the next six seasons.
J.J. Arrington, ari
Arrington agreed to terms with the Cardinals on a four-year rookie contract on Sunday, just hours before the team officially opened its 2005 training camp. Monetary details of the deal were not disclosed. Arizona made Arrington its second-round pick this past April. He was the fourth running back to come off the board, and the first to follow the '05 draft power trio at running back of Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson and Carnell "Cadillac" Williams.
7/30/2005
Elton Brown, ari
The Arizona Cardinals signed Brown, a fourth-round pick in the 2005 draft, to a three-year contract on Friday. Terms of the deal were not announced.
7/27/2005
Edgerrin James, ari
James is expected to be among the players who will report to Rose-Hulman Institute Wednesday for the opening day of Colts training camp, though he indicated that he would not join the team when it travels to Japan to open the preseason in Tokyo against the Falcons on August 6. James signed a one-year, $8.1 million deal in the offseason as the club's franchise player, but his unhappiness over a lack of progress towards a long-term deal fueled speculation of a holdout.
7/25/2005
J.J. Arrington, ari
Reportedly, the Cardinals' starting tailback job for the 2005 campaign is Arrington's to lose, even though the rookie has yet to sign a contract. The second-round pick out of California will have to beat out Marcel Shipp, who missed all of last season with injury.
6/25/2005
Chris Lewis, ari
The Arizona Cardinals released Lewis on Friday. The quarterback from Stanford spent the entire 2004 season on Arizona's practice squad after signing as a rookie free agent.
6/9/2005
Edgerrin James, ari
In a recent interview with ESPN.com, James said that he has no intention of holding out of any regular-season games despite his unhappiness over not being offered a long-term contract. The Colts slapped the franchise tag on their star running back in the offseason, and James is scheduled to make a base salary of $8.1 million in 2005. James already has missed a mandatory three-day minicamp this offseason, as well as all voluntary summer school workouts.
6/7/2005
Harold Morrow, ari
Morrow, who was released by the Baltimore Ravens earlier this year, has signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals. The free-agent fullback appeared in 15 games last season, but spent the majority of his time on special teams.
6/2/2005
Marcel Shipp, ari
Shipp has resumed working out with the Arizona Cardinals, and barring any setbacks, he will be at full strength by the start of training camp. The running back has been recovering since breaking his left fibula and dislocating his left ankle in a scrimmage last August. He spent the entire 2004 campaign on injured reserve.
5/25/2005
Kurt Warner, ari
Head coach Dennis Green has anointed Warner as the Cardinals' starting quarterback heading into the 2005 campaign. Green indicated that the seven-year NFL veteran will bring leadership to Arizona, as well as an understanding of the type of offense that Green employs. Warner started nine games for the Giants last season before losing his job to rookie Eli Manning. Over the past three seasons, the former Arena Leaguer is 5-11 as a starter for St. Louis and New York.
Charles Lee, ari
Lee has signed with the Arizona Cardinals, agreeing to a one-year contract. The receiver, who will compete for a backup job in 2005, spent the last two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, hauling in 48 passes for 639 yards and two touchdowns.
5/20/2005
Edgerrin James, ari
James was a no-show for the first day of the Colts' mandatory minicamp on Friday. The running back, who signed a one-year franchise tender with the team in March, has expressed his desire either to receive a long-term deal or be traded. James' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has declined to comment at this time on his client's status. James posted 2,031 combined rushing and receiving yards last season, and scored nine touchdowns.
5/19/2005
J.J. Moses, ari
Moses has been released by the Houston Texans. In three NFL seasons, the receiver has failed to make a catch, but seen extensive time on special teams. He has averaged 22.5 yards on 121 kickoff returns and 7.3 yards on 77 punt returns in 32 career games.
5/11/2005
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin reported to Arizona headquarters on Tuesday and worked out with the team for the first time this offseason, and the wide receiver said he will not hold out when the Cardinals open training camp in July. Boldin had skipped minicamp at the end of April and did not participate in any of the club's voluntary workouts earlier this year due to unhappiness with his current contract. He is in the third year of the four-year agreement that he signed as a rookie in 2003.
4/30/2005
Anquan Boldin, ari
Boldin failed to show up Friday as the Cardinals opened mini-camp. The receiver, who also skipped the team's voluntary workouts earlier in the week, is looking to rework his contract. He is scheduled to make a base salary of $380,000 in 2005.
