8/4/2006
Brodrick Bunkley, phi
Defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley agreed to a six-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, ending the first-round pick's two-week holdout. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because terms weren't publicly disclosed.
8/1/2006
Brodrick Bunkley, phi
Bunkley's plans to have an impact season are decreasing each day the rookie misses practice. Bunkley, the 14th pick in the first round of the NFL draft, still hasn't reached a contract agreement with the Eagles nearly two weeks into training camp. The 6-foot-2, 300-pound defensive tackle already has missed 13 days and almost certainly won't play in Sunday's game against Oakland, even if he signed immediately.
7/28/2006
Jabar Gaffney, phi
Gaffney was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a handgun following a traffic stop last month, county prosecutors said Friday. Gaffney had a permit to carry the weapon in Texas, but not in New Jersey, Camden County prosecutors said. The charge carries a maximum five-year sentence but most first-time offenders get no jail time.
7/22/2006
Jeremy Bloom, phi
Bloom has yet to practice with Philadelphia because of a strained hamstring and is listed as day-to-day. The Eagles' wide receiver and former Olympic skier tweaked his hamstring while working out with quarterback Donovan McNabb in Arizona and underwent an MRI Thursday. "He does have a strained hamstring, and we'll take this thing day by day," Eagles coach Andy Reid said Saturday. "It could take a little bit of time."
7/20/2006
Jamaal Jackson, phi
Jackson signed a seven-year contract extension with the Eagles on Thursday. The 6-foot-4, 330-pound offensive lineman started the final eight games last season at center, replacing the injured Hank Fraley. 5/23/2006
Paul Grasmanis, phi
The Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle retired on Tuesday, ending a 10-year NFL career filled with injuries. Grasmanis joined the Eagles in 2000, and made 126 tackles and 10 1/2 sacks in 54 games in Philadelphia. He played just eight games over the last three seasons, missing most of 2003 and 2005 with a torn Achilles' tendon.
4/27/2006
Dirk Johnson, phi
Johnson, a restricted free agent, signed a one-year contract with Philadelphia on Thursday. The 30-year-old punter played in seven games for the Eagles last season before being placed on injured reserve for a sports hernia. 4/7/2006
Ed Jasper, phi
Jasper signed a one-year contract with the Eagles on Thursday, rejoining the team that drafted him in the sixth round of the 1997 draft. The 33-year-old defensive end recorded 23 tackles and two sacks with the Oakland Raiders last season. He was a free agent before signing with Philadelphia, which he played for during the 1997 and 1998 seasons. Jasper also spent six seasons with Atlanta.

Bartrum was selected to the NFC Pro Bowl roster for the first time Friday as the squad's long snapper. The eight-year backup tight end has been with the Eagles since 2001. Of his 11 career receptions, six have gone for touchdowns.
12/21/2005
Jeff Garcia, phi
Looking to spark the Lions' struggling offense, interim head coach Dick Jauron has decided to bench Garcia in favor of Joey Harrington for at least Saturday's matchup with the New Orleans Saints, and most likely, the rest of the season. Garcia has struggled to get on track after recovering from a broken leg, going 102 of 173 for 937 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions in six games, including five starts. He also added a rushing TD.
12/19/2005
Jeff Garcia, phi
Garcia completed 13 of 21 passes for 138 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions before being replaced by Joey Harringotn early in the fourth quarter of a 41-17 loss to the Bengals Sunday. The Lions' quarterback had started three straight games, all losses.
12/16/2005
Lamar Gordon, phi
Despite a sore ankle, Gordon has been practicing with the Eagles this week without any major problems. The veteran running back, who officially is listed as probable on the injury report, will be available for Sunday's matchup with the St. Louis Rams.
12/15/2005
Darren Howard, phi
Howard will not play in the New Orleans Saints' last three games of the 2005 campaign. The team is claiming a knee injury is the cause for his projected absence, but the defensive end believes that is not the case. Howard, who was the Saints' franchise player the last two years, already has said he won't return to the club in 2006.
Jabar Gaffney, phi
Gaffney has been limited in practice the past couple of days, due to the ankle injury he's been battling in recent weeks. The Texans' receiver, who has 49 catches for 445 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games this season, currently is listed as probable and should be ready for Sunday's meeting with the Arizona Cardinals.
12/13/2005
Andy Hall, phi
The Philadelphia Eagles have promoted Hall from their practice squad, filling the roster spot of running back Brian Westbrook, who will miss the rest of the season with a foot injury. The second-year player will supply the team with some depth at quarterback, considering starter Mike McMahon is a little banged up after last weekend's action.
12/9/2005
Jabar Gaffney, phi
Gaffney's sore ankle prevented him from practicing with the Houston Texans on Wednesday, but he was back on the field on Thursday and took part in the majority of the workout. Currently, the receiver is listed as questionable for Sunday's tussle with the Tennessee Titans.
12/6/2005
Brian Westbrook, phi
An MRI on Westbrook's ailing foot has revealed a Lis Franc injury, and he will be forced to miss the rest of the 2005 campaign. The running back, who suffered the injury in Monday night's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, is expected to be placed on injured reserve in the near future. Rookie Ryan Moats, Lamar Gordon and Reno Mahe will split carries for the Eagles going forward.
Ryan Moats, phi
Filling in after starter Brian Westbrook was knocked out with a sprained foot, Moats saw his most extensive action of the season in Monday night's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The rookie running back, who was a third-round pick in this year's draft, rushed 10 times, but picked up just 26 yards and lost a fumble, which was returned for a touchdown.
11/30/2005
Jeff Garcia, phi
After missing three weeks with soreness in the leg he fractured earlier this year, Garcia returned to action in last weekend's game against the Atlanta Falcons, replacing the struggling Joey Harrington late in the first half. The veteran quarterback has declared himself healthy enough to reclaim the starting role, and he will do so in Sunday's matchup with the Minnesota Vikings, according to interim head coach Dick Jauron.
11/28/2005
Sean Landeta, phi
Landeta has re-signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, filling the roster spot of Nick Murphy, who was cut after struggling in his only game with the team. The 43-year-old punter was in training camp with the Eagles, but was released prior to the start of the regular season.
Brian Westbrook, phi
On a season-high 21 carries, Westbrook topped the century mark for the first time in 11 games this year, rushing for 117 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's victory over the Green Bay Packers. The Eagles' running back also hauled in four passes for 11 yards, ironically his fewest receiving yards of the 2005 campaign.
Nick Murphy, phi
After averaging just 39.3 yards on seven punts in Sunday's win over the Green Bay Packers, Murphy has been released by the Philadelphia Eagles. The punter will be replaced on the roster by 43-year-old Sean Landeta.
11/25/2005
Tra Thomas, phi
Thomas will miss the remainder of the season after being placed on injured reserve. The Eagles' left tackle has battled back problems since training camp and will undergo disc surgery. Thomas has recorded one tackle in 10 games this season.
Shawn Barber, phi
Barber was activated from the physically-unable-to-perform (PUP) list Friday and is expected to play for the Chiefs at least through the regular season stretch drive. The linebacker, 30, has started 24 games for Kansas City since signing as a free agent in 2003. He's also played for the Redskins (his first four seasons) and Eagles (2002).
11/23/2005
Jevon Kearse, phi
Kearse registered 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in the Eagles 27-17 loss to the Giants on Sunday. This was the most sacks for the Eagles defensive end since he got three on Sept. 26, 2004 against the Lions.
Jeff Garcia, phi
Garcia and Joey Harrington have been splitting snaps in practice this week, but the Lions have yet to officially announce which quarterback will get the start in Thursday's meeting with the Atlanta Falcons. According to head coach Steve Mariucci, a decision already has been made, but it will not be released to the media until shortly before kickoff on Thanksgiving.
11/22/2005
Donovan McNabb, phi
McNabb has been placed on injured reserve by the Philadelphia Eagles, officially bringing his 2005 campaign to an end. The quarterback will undergo surgery to repair a sports hernia in the coming weeks and be sidelined indefinitely. He had hoped to wait until after the season to go under the knife, but after aggravating the problem in a Week 10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, doctors recommended that the procedure be done sooner rather than later.
Donald Strickland, phi
Strickland has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles to help fill the void created by the season-ending injury to Lito Sheppard. The third-year cornerback began the 2005 campaign with the Indianapolis Colts, but was placed on injured reserve after one game, due to a hamstring ailment. He was later released by the team, allowing him to sign with another club.
Nick Murphy, phi
Murphy has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, filling the roster spot of the struggling Reggie Hodges, who was released by the club on Tuesday. Murphy saw time with the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens in 2004, averaging 43.9 yards on 22 punts, including seven dropped inside the 20-yard line.
Reggie Hodges, phi

11/21/2005
Donovan McNabb, phi
McNabb has decided to take specialist Dr. William Meyers' advice and will undergo surgery to repair his sports hernia in the coming days. He is expected to miss the remainder of the 2005 campaign.
Lito Sheppard, phi
Eagles head coach Andy Reid announced on Monday that Sheppard will be forced to undergo surgery to repair the ankle damage suffered when he got tangled up with receiver Plaxico Burress in Sunday's loss to the New York Giants. The Pro Bowl cornerback is expected to miss the rest of the season. He'll land on injured reserve in the near future.
Greg Lewis, phi
Lewis is nursing a sprained elbow, an injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the New York Giants. The receiver, who hauled in three passes for 64 yards, is considered as day-to-day at this point, according to Eagles head coach Andy Reid.
11/18/2005
L.J. Smith, phi
Smith has a minor sprain of his knee, an injury suffered in Monday night's loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but he was able to return to practice with the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday. Barring any setbacks, the tight end will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with the New York Giants.
11/17/2005
Donovan McNabb, phi
After further evaluation by a specialist on Thursday, it has been recommended that McNabb undergo surgery as soon as possible to repair the damage in his groin/abdominal area. The Eagles' quarterback, who has been bothered by a sports hernia since early in the season, aggravated the problem in Monday night's loss to the Dallas Cowboys and will be sidelined indefinitely. McNabb plans to weigh his options before making a final decision on whether to go under the knife.
11/16/2005
Donovan McNabb, phi
According to head coach Andy Reid, McNabb will be unavailable for Sunday's matchup with the New York Giants, due to the groin injury he suffered in Monday night's disappointing loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles' quarterback, who has been playing with a sports hernia all season, is scheduled to see a specialist on Thursday to determine the next course of action. Mike McMahon will step into the starting lineup in his absence.
Sean Considine, phi
Considine has been placed on injured reserve by the Philadelphia Eagles, due to a dislocated left shoulder. The rookie safety, who was a fourth-round pick in this year's draft, finishes the season with four tackles in six games.
11/15/2005
Donovan McNabb, phi
According to Eagles head coach Andy Reid, McNabb likely will not be ready for Sunday's battle with the New York Giants, due to the groin injury that knocked him out of Monday night's loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The quarterback, who has been playing all season with a sports hernia that will require surgery at some point, was scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday to determine the severity of the injury.
Jeff Garcia, phi
Garcia continues to be bothered by soreness in the leg he broke earlier this year, but once he declares himself ready for game action, he will return to the Lions' starting lineup, according to head coach Steve Mariucci. The veteran quarterback has missed the team's last two contests with the discomfort, allowing Joey Harrington to temporarily claim the top spot. Garcia currently is questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.
L.J. Smith, phi
Despite missing the majority of the team's workouts during the week while recovering from a concussion, Smith was in the Eagles' starting lineup for Monday night's meeting with the Dallas Cowboys. The tight end hauled in six passes for 56 yards before leaving in the fourth quarter with a sprained knee. He will be re-evaluated on Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury.
11/12/2005

11/10/2005
Jeff Garcia, phi
Garcia hasn't seen much work in the Lions' practices this week, and he will not be in the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, according to head coach Steve Mariucci. The veteran quarterback, who will be replaced by Joey Harrington, started two consecutive games for Detroit before missing last weekend's loss to the Minnesota Vikings with discomfort in the leg he broke during the preseason.
L.J. Smith, phi
Giving him some time to recover from the concussion suffered in last weekend's loss to the Washington Redskins, the Philadelphia Eagles will keep Smith out of practice until at least Friday. The tight end, who currently is listed as questionable on the injury report, has improved over the past couple of days and plans to be in the starting lineup for Monday night's meeting with the Dallas Cowboys.
11/9/2005
Chad Lewis, phi
Lewis has re-signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, filling the roster spot of receiver Terrell Owens, who was added to the suspended list. The team did not retain the veteran tight end for the 2005 campaign after he suffered a foot injury in the 2004 playoffs, requiring offseason surgery. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times in his NFL career.
Hank Fraley, phi
Fraley will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign after being placed on injured reserve by the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday. The center, who is nursing a shoulder problem, will be replaced on the roster by Jamaal Jackson, and second-year offensive lineman Trey Darilek is expected to fill the void in the starting lineup.
Jamaal Jackson, phi
The Philadelphia Eagles have promoted Jackson from their practice squad, filling the void created when starting center Hank Fraley was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder problem on Wednesday. Jackson will supply the team with some depth on the offensive line.
Dedrick Roper, phi
With backup linebacker Jason Short out for the season with a broken leg, the Philadelphia Eagles have signed Roper off the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad to fill the void on their 53-man roster. The 24-year-old Roper has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game.
11/8/2005
Jason Short, phi
For the second consecutive year, Short's season will end early, due to a broken leg. The Eagles' linebacker fractured his fibula in Sunday's loss to the Washington Redskins, and he will be placed on injured reserve. He finishes the campaign with five tackles.
11/7/2005
David Akers, phi
Akers has signed a five-year extension that will keep him under contract with the Philadelphia Eagles through the 2010 campaign. Financial terms of the new deal were not released. As anticipated, the kicker returned to action in Sunday's matchup with the Washington Redskins after missing the team's previous four contests with a torn hamstring.
Jeff Garcia, phi
According to Lions head coach Steve Mariucci, Garcia won't be able to work out with the team until at least Wednesday, and his availability for next weekend's matchup with the Arizona Cardinals is in question. The veteran quarterback started two consecutive games for Detroit before missing Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings with discomfort in the leg he broke during the preseason.
L.J. Smith, phi
Smith was unable to return to the Eagles' lineup after suffering a concussion in Sunday's meeting with the Washington Redskins. The tight end will be re-evaluated on Monday to determine his status. In eight games this season, he has 36 catches for 361 yards and three touchdowns.
Reggie Brown, phi
Brown took advantage of additional playing time in Sunday's loss to the Washington Redskins, as he got the starting nod in place of the suspended Terrell Owens. The receiver, who lined up opposite Greg Lewis, finished with five catches for a team-high 94 yards and a touchdown.
11/6/2005
Brian Westbrook, phi
Westbrook has re-signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, agreeing to a five-year contract extension. Officially financial terms were not released, but reportedly, the new deal is worth around $25 million, including a signing bonus between $9-10 million.
11/5/2005
Reggie Brown, phi
With the Eagles suspending Terrell Owens, Brown is expected to replace him in the starting lineup when the Eagles take on the Washington Redskins Sunday night. The rookie wide receiver has nine catches for 108 yards and no touchdowns so far on the season.
11/4/2005
Donovan McNabb, phi
After missing the Eagles' workouts the previous two days, McNabb returned to practice Friday, and it appears he is on pace to be ready for the weekend. In seven games overall, he has completed 59 percent of his passes for 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions, averaging 290.6 yards per contest.
Jevon Kearse, phi
Kearse's sprained right shoulder has responded to treatment over the past couple of days, and he was able to return to practice with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday. Barring any last-minute setbacks, the defensive end will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's battle with the Washington Redskins.
11/3/2005
Jevon Kearse, phi
Tests on Kearse's sprained right shoulder revealed no major damage, but defensive end did not practice with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday and currently is listed as questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Washington Redskins. His availability this weekend will depend on what he can do over the next couple of days.
Jeff Garcia, phi
Garcia should be available for backup duty, if needed, but because of discomfort in the left leg he fractured earlier this year, he will not be in the Lions' starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. The veteran quarterback has made two starts since returning from the injury, but after taking a beating last weekend, he's been unable to practice with the team this week. Joey Harrington will get the nod in his stead.
11/2/2005
David Akers, phi
Akers has been sidelined since Week 3 with a torn hamstring, but after testing out the leg during the Eagles' practice on Wednesday, he is confident that he'll be available for Sunday's matchup with the Washington Redskins. The veteran kicker is just 2 of 5 on field-goal attempts this season, but has nailed 82.5 percent in his NFL career.
Donovan McNabb, phi
McNabb has some soreness and stiffness in his side because of bruised ribs, and he was held out of practice on Wednesday as a precautionary measure. Despite the added ailment, the quarterback said he plans to return to the field in the next day or two and be under center for Sunday's matchup with the Washington Redskins.
Dirk Johnson, phi
Johnson's 2005 campaign has come to an end, as the Philadelphia Eagles have placed him on injured reserve, due to his nagging groin problems. In his absence, Reggie Hodges will handle the punting duties for the club going forward.
Reggie Hodges, phi
Hodges has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, filling the roster spot of punter Dirk Johnson, who will miss the rest of the season with a groin injury. In five games with the St. Louis Rams earlier this year, Hodges averaged 38.0 yards on 22 punts.
11/1/2005
Jeff Garcia, phi
Garcia has admitted that he continues to be bothered by pain in the leg he broke earlier this year, and he'll probably miss some time this week as a result. For now, the veteran quarterback is considered as day-to-day, but he'll likely show up as questionable on the Lions' injury report. Look for his status to be updated on Friday or Saturday, once he's been able to test things out on the practice field.
10/31/2005
Jevon Kearse, phi
Kearse has been diagnosed with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder after going down in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos. According to Eagles head coach Andy Reid, the defensive end will undergo a precautionary MRI on Monday to rule out any serious damage. For now, he has been listed as day-to-day.
10/28/2005
Lito Sheppard, phi
Sheppard was unable to practice with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday after colliding with receiver Greg Lewis during the team's workout the previous day. The Pro Bowl cornerback, who reportedly banged his knee, has been added to the injury report as questionable. He'll likely be a game-time decision for Sunday's battle with the Denver Broncos.
10/26/2005
David Akers, phi
Eagles head coach Andy Reid has changed his tune a bit, saying Akers should return within the next few weeks, not necessarily by Week 9, as had been reported over the past couple of days. The kicker, who continues to recover from a torn hamstring, will not be available for this Sunday's meeting with the Denver Broncos.
10/25/2005
David Akers, phi
Akers plans to expand his workouts over the next several days, and if no problems are reported, he could be available for Sunday's meeting with the Denver Broncos. According to Eagles head coach Andy Reid, the kicker, who has been sidelined since Week 3 with a torn hamstring, will be back in action by Week 9, at the latest.
10/24/2005
Jeff Garcia, phi
Taking over the Lions' starting job from the struggling Joey Harrington, Garcia got off to a slow start in Sunday's meeting with the Cleveland Browns, but got on track in the second half and led Detroit to a 13-10 victory. The veteran quarterback, who missed the first five games of the season while recovering from a broken leg, went 22 of 34 for 210 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He scored a TD on the ground, punching it in from one yard out.
10/23/2005
Jeff Garcia, phi
According to ESPN, Garcia will be the starting quarterback for the Lions in Week 7 against the Browns. He replaces the struggling Joey Harrington, who is the lowest-rated passer in the league. Garcia, who started 10 games for Cleveland last season, has been out of the lineup since breaking a bone in the leg in Detroit's preseason finale in late August.
10/21/2005
Darwin Walker, phi
Sidelined since Week 2 with a bruised quadriceps muscle, Walker has been practicing at full speed with the Eagles this week, and barring any setbacks, he will be available for Sunday's matchup with the San Diego Chargers. In two games this season, the defensive lineman has notched six tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
10/19/2005
Jeff Garcia, phi
Garcia split time in practice with the first-string team with Joey Harrington Wednesday, giving rise to talk that he could tapped as the starting quarterback for this week's game against the Cleveland Browns.
10/17/2005
David Akers, phi
Despite having the bye week to rest his ailing leg, Akers still won't be available when the Eagles resume play against the San Diego Chargers this weekend. However, the kicker, who has been sidelined since Week 3 with a torn hamstring, has vowed to return before the end of the season. Todd France will continue to handle the kicking duties for Philadelphia until Akers can get back on the field.
Jerome McDougle, phi
McDougle has suffered a setback in his recovery from a gunshot wound, and it now appears that he will not be able to return to the field this season. The Eagles' defensive end, who was shot in July, recently underwent an emergency surgery to correct an internal hernia due to adhesions and scar tissue from the previous procedure.
10/13/2005
Jeff Garcia, phi
Although he's already been ruled out for this weekend's meeting with the Carolina Panthers, Garcia has expanded his workouts recently, and there is a chance he could be available for a Week 7 showdown with the Cleveland Browns, his former team. The Lions' veteran quarterback has been sidelined since breaking a bone in the leg in the team's preseason finale in late August.
10/7/2005
Jeremiah Trotter, phi
Trotter has been upgraded from questionable to probable on the Eagles' injury report after working out at full speed with the team on Thursday. The linebacker, who missed Wednesday's practice with a bruised quadriceps muscle, will be in the lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Dallas Cowboys.
Donovan McNabb, phi
Other than some expected lingering soreness, McNabb has reported no major problems this week and been practicing with the Eagles without any restrictions. The quarterback, who is nursing a sports hernia, bruised chest and sore shin, currently is listed as probable on the team's injury report and fully expects to be under center for Sunday's matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.
10/5/2005
Brian Dawkins, phi
An MRI on Dawkins' sore ankle revealed no serious damage, and the Eagles' safety is expected to be ready for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. As a precautionary measure, he was held out of Wednesday's practice, but should be able to work out with the team later in the week.
David Akers, phi
According to Eagles head coach Andy Reid, second opinions on Akers' ailing right leg have confirmed the original diagnosis of a torn hamstring. The kicker already has been ruled out of Sunday's meeting with the Dallas Cowboys, and a timetable for his return has not been set. Todd France will continue to handle the kicking duties for Philadelphia until Akers can get back on the field.
Jabar Gaffney, phi
After missing time in training camp with a staph infection in his groin, as well as recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, Gaffney returned to the Texans' starting lineup in last weekend's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The receiver took advantage of the added playing time, hauling in six passes for 88 yards.
L.J. Smith, phi
With opposing teams focusing their attention on holding Terrell Owens and Brian Westbrook in check, Smith has found himself quite busy in the Eagles' offensive attack. The tight end has 23 catches for 236 yards and two touchdowns over his last three games.
10/4/2005
Brian Dawkins, phi
Dawkins is scheduled to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the ankle injury he suffered in the second half of Sunday's win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles' safety has 19 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one interception and a forced fumble in four games this season.
Darnerien McCants, phi
McCants has re-signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, filling the roster spot of defensive tackle Paul Grasmanis, who will miss the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon. The receiver was cut last week to make room for kicker Todd France.
