The former Southern California running back was selected second overall, between No. 1 Mario Williams and No. 3 Vince Young.
7/13/2006
Mike Karney, nor
Karney signed a four-year extension with the New Orleans Saints on Thursday. The 25-year-old fullback has appeared in all 32 games over the last two seasons, starting 22. Along with his role as a lead blocker, Karney has 16 career receptions for 103 yards and nine carries for 19 yards.

Johnson was acquired by the Saints from the New England Patriots in exchange for defensive tackle Jonathan Sullivan on Monday.

James Allen, nor
Allen will miss next season after rupturing a tendon in his knee on Tuesday. According to New Orleans general manager Mickey Loomis, Allen was participating in non-contact drills when he ruptured his right patella tendon. The Saints' linebacker, who was limited to three games in 2005 because of knee problems, underwent surgery on Wednesday.
5/15/2006
Reggie Bush, nor
Bush underwent an MRI exam on his sore left hamstring Monday after he spent all three days of the Saints' rookie camp limited to watching or participating in half-speed drills. "It feels good, but obviously not 100 percent," said Bush, adding he could not recall having a hamstring injury before. "That's why we're taking precaution."
4/9/2006
Michael Lewis, nor
New Orleans signed Lewis to a three-year contract on Sunday. The special teams star missed most of 2005 after suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 2. Lewis is the Saints' all-time leader in punt return yardage and kickoff return yardage and made the Pro Bowl in 2002 as a returner.
4/6/2006
Bryan Scott, nor
Scott was traded from the Falcons to the Saints on Thursday.
3/23/2006
Mark Campbell, nor
The Saints signed tight end Mark Campbell to a three-year contract. Primarily used as a blocker, Campbell made 19 catches for 139 yards and no touchdowns with Buffalo last season.
3/14/2006
Drew Brees, nor
The Saints won the Drew Brees free-agent sweepstakes, signing the quarterback to a six-year deal worth $60 million, $10 million of which is guaranteed. The signing probably means the end of Aaron Brooks' stay in New Oreleans and could impact the Saints' draft strategy. Brees chose New Orleans over the Miami Dolphins. Looks like the Philip Rivers era is officially about to begin in San Diego.
2/21/2006
Drew Brees, nor
The Chargers are apparently willing to let Brees become a free agent, as San Diego general manager A.J. Smith said the team will not designate the quarterback as either a franchise or transition player. Brees underwent surgery in January to repair a torn labrum suffered in the season finale, and the Chargers didn't want to take a risk on Brees not fully recovering from the injury.
2/3/2006
Deuce McAllister, nor
McAllister is reportedly about two weeks ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation for a torn ACL injury. The New Orleans Saints' running back is in Week 15 of his rehab and began jogging three weeks ago.
1/11/2006
Drew Brees, nor
Both Brees and the San Diego Chargers are interested in coming to terms on a long-term agreement, the quarterback and general manager A.J. Smith confirmed on Wednesday. Brees, who is recovering from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right (throwing) shoulder, could become a free agent this offseason, but it appears both sides are working toward getting him under contract for the foreseeable future. Brees made $8 million in 2005 as the team's franchise player.
1/6/2006
Drew Brees, nor
As anticipated, Brees underwent arthroscopic surgery on Thursday to repair the torn labrum in his right (throwing) shoulder, an injury suffered in last Saturday's season-ending loss to the Denver Broncos. The Chargers' quarterback is expected to require about four months of recover time before he can start throwing again, but he fully expects to be ready for the start of training camp later this summer.
1/2/2006
Drew Brees, nor
Brees dislocated his right shoulder in a loss to the Denver Broncos on Saturday and an MRI on Sunday revealed a torn labrum. The Chargers' quarterback plans to travel to Birmingham, Ala., on Tuesday to get a second opinion from orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews. He likely will undergo surgery this week.
1/1/2006
Drew Brees, nor
Brees left Saturday's San Diego loss to Denver in the second quarter with an injured right shoulder. The Chargers' quarterback dropped back to pass from his own end zone and was blindsided on a blitz by safety John Lynch. Brees fumbled and was hit again while going for the ball. Brees was examined on the sidelines, then was taken into the locker room.
12/27/2005
Jamie Martin, nor
Martin will hold on to the Rams' starting job for the season finale against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, interim head coach Joe Vitt announced Monday. The quarterback, filling in for the injured Marc Bulger, got the nod in last weekend's loss to the San Francisco 49ers, going 33 of 41 for 354 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
Jay Foreman, nor
Foreman has signed withthe New York Giants, filling the roster spot of Carlos Emmons, who will miss the rest of the season after aggravating a pectoral injury last week. After spending the last three years with the Houston Texans, Foreman was with the Oakland Raiders in training camp, but was released prior to the start of the 2005 regular season.
12/23/2005
Jamie Martin, nor
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Martin is expected to start at quarterback for the Rams on Saturday although interim coach Joe Vitt isn't confirming the starter. The 35-year-old quarterback has played in six games (three starts) this season and is 72 of 104 for 765 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions. He was sidelined four Sundays ago after suffering a concussion.
12/19/2005
Jeff Faine, nor
Faine tore his right biceps in a 9-7 victory over the Raiders Sunday and will miss the final two games of the season. The Browns' center is expected to be placed on injured reserve and may need surgery.
12/15/2005
Aaron Stecker, nor
Battling soreness in his neck, Stecker shows up as questionable on the Saints' injury report this week. Despite the ailment, the running back was able to practice with the team on Wednesday, and he plans to be ready for Sunday's matchup with the Carolina Panthers. In 12 games this season, he has 289 yards on 77 carries, as well as 23 catches for 210 yards, but has yet to find the end zone.
12/14/2005
Todd Bouman, nor
Bouman will get the nod in Sunday's matchup with the Carolina Panthers, making the fourth start of his NFL career. The 33-year-old quarterback will replace veteran Aaron Brooks, who was benched by the Saints on Wednesday, due to his inconsistency this season.
12/12/2005
Drew Brees, nor
Brees accounted for three scores in Sunday's matchup with the Miami Dolphins, but it wasn't enough, as the Chargers lost the game, 23-21. The quarterback attempted a career-high 52 passes in the contest, completing 35 for 279 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed three times for 11 yards and a score, but was sacked three times and lost a fumble.

Scott has been benched for Monday night's game against the New Orleans Saints. He will be replaced at free safety by Ronnie Heard.
12/7/2005
Mark Campbell, nor
Campbell has missed the Buffalo Bills' last two games with a strained hamstring, but he was able to practice with the team on Wednesday, and there is a good chance he'll be ready for Sunday's tussle with the New England Patriots. The tight end was listed as questionable on the Bills' initial injury report, but he could be upgraded by the weekend.
12/6/2005
Jamie Martin, nor
Martin continues to recover from the concussion he suffered more than a week ago, but even when back to full strength, he won't reclaim a spot in the Rams' starting lineup. According to interim head coach Joe Vitt, the team will stick with rookie Ryan Fitzpatrick going forward, at least until Marc Bulger is able to return from a shoulder injury, which might not happen this season. Martin served as the Rams' third quarterback this past weekend.
12/4/2005
Jamie Martin, nor
Recovering from a mild concussion and blurred vision, Martin did not practice with the St. Louis Rams all week, but he will serve as the team's No. 3 emergency quarterback in Sunday's matchup with the Washington Redskins. Rookie Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the starting nod, with Jeff Smoker handling the primary backup duties.
Az-Zahir Hakim, nor
Battling back and rib injuries, Hakim will not play in Sunday's meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Devery Henderson will see more time behind starters Joe Horn and Donte' Stallworth in his absence.

12/2/2005
Jamie Martin, nor
Martin finally is starting to feel a little better after taking a crushing blow in last weekend's overtime win over the Houston Texans. The Rams' quarterback, who suffered blurred vision and a mild concussion, hasn't practiced with the team this week, but he hopes to be available for backup duty in Sunday's tussle with the Washington Redskins.
Mark Campbell, nor
At this point, it appears Campbell will be forced to miss his second consecutive game. The tight end, who is nursing a strained hamstring, has not practiced with the Buffalo Bills all week and currently is listed as questionable on the team's injury report. Tim Euhus would get the nod if Campbell is unable to go.
12/1/2005
Jamie Martin, nor
Martin was still having problems with blurred vision in his right eye on Wednesday and did not take part in the Rams' practice as a result. The quarterback, who took a blow to the head and was forced to leave last weekend's win over the Houston Texans, should be available for Sunday's meeting with the Washington Redskins, but it likely will be in a backup role. Barring any last-minute changes, rookie Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the starting nod.
11/30/2005
Jamie Martin, nor
All tests on Martin's right eye have been negative, and the quarterback has been cleared to return to the field with the St. Louis Rams. He was forced to leave last weekend's win over the Houston Texans after taking a blow to the head late in the first quarter, resulting in blurred vision. Although Martin should be ready and available, it appears the Rams are leaning toward giving rookie Ryan Fitzpatrick the starting nod against the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
Ernie Conwell, nor
Conwell will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair the torn posterior cruciate ligament in his knee on Wednesday. The tight end, who has been sidelined since suffering the injury in a Week 8 meeting with the Miami Dolphins, will be placed on injured reserve by the New Orleans Saints.
Zachary Hilton, nor
Hilton has stepped up his game over the past few weeks in the absence of regular starter Ernie Conwell. The tight end will remain in the starting role the rest of the 2005 campaign, as Conwell has decided to undergo surgery on his troublesome knee.
11/29/2005
Ernie Conwell, nor
Conwell continues to be bothered by discomfort in his ailing knee, and there is a chance he could be forced to go under the knife, which would end his 2005 campaign. 11/28/2005

Filling in for regular starter Marc Bulger, Martin was knocked out of Sunday's matchup with the Houston Texans after taking a blow to the head late in the first quarter. According to Rams interim head coach Joe Vitt, the quarterback had some blurred vision, but the team has ruled out a concussion. He was replaced under center by rookie Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Mark Campbell, nor
After not practicing with the Bills all week because of a strained hamstring, Campbell was inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Carolina Panthers. The tight end, who was replaced in the lineup by Tim Euhus, will be re-evaluated over the next couple of days to determine his availability for Week 13.
Drew Brees, nor
One week after tossing four touchdown passes in a win over the Bills, Brees posted his worst passer rating of the 2005 campaign (35.7), as the Chargers came back to beat the Washington Redskins in overtime on Sunday. The quarterback finished the game 22 of 44 for 215 yards, three interceptions and no TDs. He also was sacked three times.

11/21/2005
Jamie Martin, nor
On Monday, Marc Bulger admitted that he will miss at least a couple of weeks after suffering a bruised right (throwing) shoulder and mild concussion in the second half of Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals. As a result, the Rams again will turn backup Jamie Martin to move up the depth chart and fill the void in the starting lineup.
Drew Brees, nor
Brees was nearly perfect on Sunday, helping lead the San Diego Chargers to a 48-10 thumping of the Buffalo Bills. The quarterback completed 28 of his 33 pass attempts for a season-high 339 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Over his last four games, Brees has 10 TDs and four picks.
Donte' Stallworth, nor
Despite being limited in practice by a nagging shoulder injury all week, Stallworth was in the Saints' staring lineup for Sunday's matchup with the New England Patriots. The receiver, who has been nursing the ailment for several weeks, finished the contest with six catches for 76 yards and two touchdowns.
11/20/2005
Donte' Stallworth, nor
Stallworth will be in the staring lineup today when the Saints take on the New England Patriots.
11/18/2005
Donte' Stallworth, nor
Stallworth was back at practice with the New Orleans Saints on Thursday after sitting out the previous day to rest his nagging shoulder injury. The receiver has been battling soreness the past few weeks, but has yet to miss any game action because of the ailment. He's currently listed as questionable on the team's injury report, but plans to be in the lineup when the Saints take the field against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
11/17/2005
Donte' Stallworth, nor
Stallworth continues to be bothered by soreness in his shoulder, an injury he has been battling for the past few weeks. As a result, the receiver did not practice with the Saints on Wednesday, and he currently appears as questionable on the team's injury report.
11/15/2005
Ernie Conwell, nor
Conwell is not expected to play in Sunday's matchup with the New England Patriots, and he could miss up to three more games, as he recovers from a torn posterior cruciate ligament in his knee. The Saints' tight end recorded 13 catches for 165 yards and a touchdown in eight games this season prior to suffering the injury.
11/6/2005
Az-Zahir Hakim, nor
Hakim practiced with the New Orleans Saints all week and reported no major problems with his bruised ribs. As a result, he will be active and available for Sunday's matchup with the Chicago Bears. He had been listed as questionable on the injury report.
11/4/2005
Joey Thomas, nor
The New Orleans Saints have claimed Thomas off waivers from the Green Bay Packers. The second-year cornerback, who was a third-round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, has recorded 14 tackles in six games this season, including one start.
11/3/2005
Jesse Chatman, nor
Chatman has been released by the New Orleans Saints. The running back did not record a carry with the Saints after being acquired in a trade from the Miami Dolphins last month.
11/2/2005
Az-Zahir Hakim, nor
Hakim did not play in last weekend's loss to the Miami Dolphins because of bruised ribs, but he was back on the practice field with the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday. As no problems are reported over the next couple of days, the receiver should be available for Sunday's matchup with the Chicago Bears. Officially, he has been listed as questionable.
Nate Wayne, nor
Wayne has signed with the Detroit Lions. The 30-year-old linebacker will supply the team with some insurance at the position, considering Teddy Lehman is sidelined with a foot injury and is not expected to play this weekend against the Minnesota Vikings.
Joey Thomas, nor
After being benched in Sunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Thomas has been waived by the Green Bay Packers. The second-year cornerback, who was a third-round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, recorded 14 tackles in six games this season, including one start.
11/1/2005
Ernie Conwell, nor
Further tests on Conwell's sore knee have revealed a torn posterior cruciate ligament. The Saints' tight end, who suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins, is expected to be sidelined for the next 3-6 weeks. In his absence, Shad Meier likely will fill the void in the starting lineup.
Billy Miller, nor
Miller has been released by the Cleveland Browns. After signing with the club in September, the tight end never was able to surpass Aaron Shea and Steve Heiden on the depth chart. He appeared in only three games on the year and did not record a catch.
10/31/2005
Ernie Conwell, nor
Conwell likely will be limited in practice this week after aggravating his sore knee in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins. According to Saints head coach Jim Haslett, the veteran tight end currently is considered questionable for next weekend's meeting with the Chicago Bears.
Joe Horn, nor
Limited by a hamstring injury since Week 3, Horn was back in the Saints' starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Miami Dolphins, as he had hoped. The veteran receiver reported no major problems with the leg after finishing with a team-high seven catches for 99 yards.
Az-Zahir Hakim, nor
Hakim had planned to be ready for Sunday's matchup with the Miami Dolphins, but was among the Saints' inactives, due to a rib injury. The veteran receiver, who was replaced by Devery Henderson, had been listed as questionable going into the contest. In five games this season, Hakim has 17 catches for 293 yards and a touchdown.
Drew Brees, nor
Brees led the San Diego Chargers to a 28-20 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, completing 25 of 43 passes for 324 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. His yardage and touchdown totals both were season highs.
10/28/2005
Joe Horn, nor
Horn continues to be listed as questionable on the Saints' injury report, but after practicing without restrictions the past couple of days, he is confident that he'll be available for Sunday's meeting with the Miami Dolphins. The receiver has not recorded a catch since Week 3, as he's been limited to just a couple of plays over the last four games by a nagging hamstring injury.
Az-Zahir Hakim, nor
Hakim reported no major problems after returning to practice with the New Orleans Saints on Thursday, and barring any setbacks, he will be available for Sunday's meeting with the Miami Dolphins. The veteran receiver, who is nursing a rib injury, officially is listed as questionable, but should be good to go this weekend.
Aaron Stecker, nor
Stecker did not take part in the team portion of practice on Wednesday to rest his sore ankle, but he was back on the field for Thursday's workout and reported no major problems. The Saints' running back, who has been playing with a minor high ankle sprain for more than a month, officially is listed as questionable on this week's injury report, but plans to be ready for Sunday's matchup with the Miami Dolphins.
Donte' Stallworth, nor
Stallworth's sore shoulder limited his work during the Saints' practice on Thursday and currently has him listed as questionable for Sunday's tussle with the Miami Dolphins. If the receiver is able to expand his involvement on Friday, he plans to be in the starting lineup this weekend. His status likely will be updated over the next day or two.
10/27/2005
Joe Horn, nor
Horn was able to work out with the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday, but he remains listed as questionable on the injury report for Sunday's matchup with the Miami Dolphins. The receiver has not recorded a catch since Week 3, as he's been limited to just a couple of plays over the last four games combined by a nagging hamstring injury. He might be a game-time decision again this weekend.
10/26/2005
Jamal Jones, nor
Jones has been released by the Green Bay Packers, opening a spot on the roster for Andrae Thurman, who was claimed off waivers from the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday. Due to numerous injury problems, the Packers promoted the receiver from their practice squad earlier this month, but he did not record a catch in two games. He averaged 20.0 yards on four kickoff returns.
10/25/2005
Az-Zahir Hakim, nor
Hakim has been listed as questionable by the Saints for this Sunday's game against the Dolphins. The wide receiver left last Sunday's loss to the Rams with a non-specific rib cage injury.
10/24/2005
Az-Zahir Hakim, nor
Hakim continues to take advantage of added playing time in the absence of Joe Horn, who has been sidelined for the majority of the last month with a strained hamstring. In Sunday's loss to the St. Louis Rams, Hakim hauled in six passes for a team-high 100 yards and a touchdown. The Saints' receiver also averaged 20.0 yards on five kickoff returns and 9.0 yards on five punt returns.
10/23/2005
Joe Horn, nor
Horn has landed on the Saints' list of inactives for the team's Week 7 matchup with the Rams due to his strained hamstring. The injury will keep the starting wideout off the field for the third time this season.
10/21/2005
Jamie Martin, nor
Regular starter Marc Bulger will not play in Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints, according to Rams interim head coach Joe Vitt, meaning Martin will get the nod. After Bulger sprained the AC joint in his throwing shoulder last weekend, Martin came on and went 17 of 21 for 134 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
Joe Horn, nor
Horn remains listed as questionable on the Saints' injury report, so technically there is a chance he could be ready by Sunday. However, due to his strained hamstring, the receiver has not practiced at all this week, so it appears he will miss his third game in the last four weeks. If that is the case, Az-Zahir Hakim will step into the starting lineup opposite Donte' Stallworth, while Devery Henderson will move up a spot on the depth chart as well.
10/20/2005
Aaron Stecker, nor
Despite a sore Achilles and the high ankle sprain he's been trying to shake off for nearly a month, Stecker was able to work out with the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday, and he should be ready for Sunday's meeting with the St. Louis Rams. The Saints have officially listed the running back as questionable, but he could be upgraded if no problems are reported over the next day or two.
Donte' Stallworth, nor
Despite nursing a minor hamstring ailment, Stallworth practiced with the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday and does not show up on the team's injury report. He is expected to be in the starting lineup for Sunday's battle with the St. Louis Rams, barring any last-minutes setbacks.
10/18/2005
Jamie Martin, nor
Martin came in during the second quarter for the injured Marc Bulger on Monday night against the Colts and finished the game under center. With Bulger going down with a sprained shoulder, Martin was called upon and went 17-for-21 for 134 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the Rams' loss.
Joe Horn, nor
According to Saints head coach Jim Haslett, Horn will have to show significant improvement over the next few days if he hopes to play in this weekend's matchup with the St. Louis Rams. After a two-week absence, the receiver returned to the team's lineup last Sunday, but was forced to leave after aggravating his troublesome hamstring.
Donte' Stallworth, nor
As a precautionary measure, Stallworth likely will be limited in practice this week, as he is nursing a sore hamstring. However, the injury is considered minor at this point, and the receiver plans to be in the Saints' lineup for Sunday's meeting with the St. Louis Rams. In six games this season, he has 28 catches for 406 yards and one touchdown.
10/17/2005
Joe Horn, nor
Horn was back in the Saints' lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons after missing the team's previous two games with a strained hamstring. However, the receiver's return was a brief one, as he aggravated the injury early in the contest and did not play the rest of the day. He'll be re-evaluated on Monday to determine his status and availability for Week 7.
Aaron Stecker, nor
Stecker shook off the high ankle sprain he's been nursing for nearly a month to log 16 carries in Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The running back finished with 86 yards on the day, splitting time in the backfield with veteran Antowain Smith. The two are replacing Deuce McAllister, who is out for the season with a knee injury.
10/14/2005
Ernie Conwell, nor
Conwell has been listed as questionable on the Saints' injury report after being forced to leave last weekend's loss to the Green Bay Packers with a back injury. However, the tight end made it through Thursday's practice without any major problems and should be in the lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Atlanta Falcons.
Aaron Stecker, nor
Stecker continues to be slowed by a high ankle sprain, an injury originally suffered late last month. However, the running back was able to practice with the Saints on Thursday, and he plans to be available for Sunday's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. Officially, he has been listed as questionable for the contest.
10/13/2005
Joe Horn, nor
Horn made it through Wednesday's practice unscathed, and following the workout, he vowed to play in Sunday's meeting with the Atlanta Falcons. Nursing a strained hamstring, the Saints' receiver has missed the team's last two games and currently is listed as questionable on this week's injury report. In three games this season, Horn has 15 catches for 220 yards and a touchdown.
10/12/2005
Drew Brees, nor
Brees might be limited in practice early this week after getting kicked in the calf during Monday night's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the ailment is considered minor, according to Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer, and the quarterback will be under center when the team takes the field against the Oakland Raiders this weekend.
10/11/2005
Joe Horn, nor
Horn admitted that he could have played in last weekend's loss to the Green Bay Packers, but the Saints did not want to take any chances with him aggravating his strained hamstring any further. The veteran receiver will continue to receive treatment over the next few days, and barring any setbacks, he plans to be in the lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Atlanta Falcons.
Jesse Chatman, nor
The Miami Dolphins have traded Chatman to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a future conditional draft pick. The running back, who was inactive for all five of the Dolphins' games this season, will supply the Saints with some depth following the season-ending knee injury to starting tailback Deuce McAllister. He rushed for 392 yards and three touchdowns on 65 carries in 15 games with the Chargers last season.
10/10/2005
Az-Zahir Hakim, nor
Despite battling a sore knee, Hakim got the starting nod for the Saints in Sunday's meeting with the Green Bay Packers, filling in for Joe Horn, who was out with a strained hamstring. The receiver took advantage of the added playing time, hauling in five passes for 108 yards. He also averaged 5.0 yards on four punt returns.
Deuce McAllister, nor
An MRI on McAllister's right knee has revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament. The Saints' running back, who suffered the injury in Sunday's blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers, will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign. The club will turn to Antowain Smith and Aaron Stecker to fill the void in the backfield going forward.
10/9/2005
Joe Horn, nor
Horn had planned to return to the Saints' starting lineup this weekend, but he will miss his second consecutive game, due to a strained hamstring. Without the veteran receiver's services, the Saints will look to Devery Henderson to fill the void opposite Donte' Stallworth in Sunday's matchup with the Green Bay Packers. Az-Zahir Hakim also should see an increased role this week.
Devery Henderson, nor
With Joe Horn out with a strained hamstring and Az-Zahir Hakim likely limited by a sore knee, Henderson is expected to start opposite Donte' Stallworth in Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. In three contests this season, the second-year receiver has seven catches for 144 yards.
10/7/2005
Az-Zahir Hakim, nor
Limited earlier this season by a hamstring injury, Hakim now is bothered by a sore knee, which prevented him from working out with the Saints earlier this week. The receiver returned to practice on Thursday, however, and barring any setbacks, he plans to be available for Sunday's matchup with the Green Bay Packers. Officially, Hakim is listed as questionable.
10/6/2005
Joe Horn, nor
Still listed as questionable on the Saints' injury report, Horn was able to return to practice with the team on Wednesday and reported no major problems with his strained hamstring. The receiver, who missed last weekend's win over the Buffalo Bills, is confident that he will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Green Bay Packers.
Jamal Jones, nor
The Green Bay Packers now have lost two receivers for the rest of the season -- starter Javon Walker and rookie Terrence Murphy -- prompting the team to promote Jones from the practice squad. The undrafted wideout will be listed fourth on Packers' depth chart behind starters Donald Driver and Robert Ferguson, as well as No. 3 Antonio Chatman.
10/3/2005
Joe Horn, nor
Horn was inactive on Sunday due to a sore left hamstring. He was planning on playing against the Bills, but was ineffective during New Orleans' pregame warmups and could not take the field.
Deuce McAllister, nor
McAllister rumbled over the Bills' normally stout defense on Sunday, picking up 130 yards on 27 carries and also making two receptions for 16 yards. The running back's average of 4.8 yards per carry was his best mark of the season.
