Dan Wilkinson, mia

Wilkinson signed with the Miami Dolphins Monday. The veteran defensive tackle missed more than two weeks of training camp before agreeing to a three-year deal with the Dolphins. "I was in no big rush," he said. "I'm refreshed, I'm back and I'm excited."

8/13/2006

Junior Seau, mia

Seau will announce his retirement from pro football Monday. The 12-time Pro Bowl and former Miami Dolphins linebacker who also played with the San Diego Chargers during his 16-year NFL career is expected to make the official announcement at a press conference Monday afternoon at Chargers Park.

8/10/2006

Daunte Culpepper, mia

Culpepper received medical clearance to play in Saturday's Miami Dolphins exhibition against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami coach Nick Saban said Thursday. The Dolphins quarterback will be exposed to full contact for the first time since a knee injury ended his 2005 season with the Minnesota Vikings last October.

Seth McKinney, mia

McKinney underwent neck surgery Thursday to repair a disc and is expected to be sidelined 2-3 months. The Miami Dolphins starting guard was sidelined in training camp when he experienced numbness. He had been expected to start after starting 29 games at center the past two seasons.

8/8/2006

Jason Allen, mia

Allen signed a six-year contract with the Miami Dolphins on Monday, reportedly between $8 million and $9 million. The 16th overall selection in the 2006 NFL draft will compete for a starting safety job after playing cornerback for Tennessee.

7/28/2006

Derek Hagan, mia

Hagan signed a four-year contract with the Dolphins and will be with the team for the first training camp workout Saturday.

7/1/2006

Ricky Williams, mia

Williams scored his first CFL touchdown in Toronto's 26-19 loss to British Columbia on Friday night and finished with 97 yards on 18 carries. The running back, suspended from the NFL this season for a fourth positive drug test, was playing in his third CFL regular season game.

6/10/2006

Bennie Anderson, mia

Anderson was released by the Bills on Friday with two years left on his contract. The Buffalo left guard started 15 games last season and would have made $3.15 million over the remainder of his contract.

5/27/2006

Ricky Williams, mia

Leigh Steinberg, Williams' agent, said Saturday his client hasn't yet received permission from the Miami Dolphins to play in the Canadian Football League this season. However, Steinberg expects the Dolphins to allow the former Heisman Trophy winner to suit up for the Argos in 2006. Williams was suspended by the NFL for the entire 2006 season after a fourth positive drug test. He missed Miami's first four games last year following his third positive test.

5/22/2006

Dan Wilkinson, mia

The Lions released defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson on Monday. The defensive tackle was the No. 1 pick overall in the 1994 NFL draft, spending the last three seasons in Detroit after five with the Washington Redskins. He spent his first four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.

5/12/2006

Joey Harrington, mia

Harrington was traded to the Miami Dolphins from the Detroit Lions in exchange for a 2007 conditional sixth-round draft pick.

5/8/2006

Frank Murphy, mia

Murphy signed with the Dolphins on Monday after trying out for the team in a rookie minicamp. The wide receiver was out of football in 2005 after missing most of the 2004 season with a ruptured Achilles' tendon while playing for Tampa Bay. He has eight career receptions and 31 kickoff returns, averaging 21.8 yards per return. Murphy also played for Houston in 2002.

5/1/2006

Jason Taylor, mia

Taylor was stabbed in his left forearm in a road-rage incident Sunday in Davie, Fla. The injury was so minor that Taylor did not even wear a bandage while participating in a charity golf event Monday hosted by Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks. "My wife and I were the victims in an unfortunate incident last night, but we are both fine," Taylor said in a statement issued by the Dolphins.

4/26/2006

Ricky Williams, mia

Williams' appeal of his latest failed drug test was rejected, the league announced Tuesday, meaning the Miami Dolphins running back will miss the entire 2006 season. "I'm disappointed with the decision, but I respect it," Williams said in a statement released by the team. "I'm proud of my association with the National Football League and look forward to returning to the Dolphins in 2007."

4/10/2006

Ricky Williams, mia

Williams and his lawyer met Monday with NFL counsel Jeff Pash, seeking to have the league overturn a positive drug test that could cost him the entire 2006 season. The league, which doesn't acknowledge drug tests until there is a final determination, had no comment on the appeal.

4/5/2006

Deke Cooper, mia

Cooper signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins on Wednesday after spending the last three seasons with Jacksonville. The free safety started 12 games in 2005, with 80 tackles and one interception. He has 190 tackles and three interceptions during his four-year career.

4/4/2006

Damion McIntosh, mia

McIntosh agreed to a one-year deal with the Dolphins on Tuesday, about a month after Miami released him in a cost-cutting move.

3/28/2006

Fred Beasley, mia

Beasley signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins on Monday after spending the first eight years of his career with the 49ers, serving as the lead blocker for three different 1,000-yard rushers.

3/21/2006

Yeremiah Bell, mia

Bell re-signed with the Dolphins on Tuesday to a one-year contract. The free safety had 21 tackles and three sacks while playing all 16 games last season. He also had 14 special teams tackles, second on the team.

3/20/2006

Will Allen, mia

Looks like the Giants and Dolphins made an exchange in their defensive backfields. The Dolphins signed former Giants cornerback Allen to a four-year contract worth $12 million, $5 million of which is guaranteed. The Giants had signed Sam Madison last week.

Joey Harrington, mia

Lions coach Rod Marinelli said Monday of quarterback Harrington: "At this moment, he's not with us. That's been my decision."

3/17/2006

Joey Harrington, mia

Is the Harrington era over for the Lions? They signed free-agent quarterback Josh McCown to a two-year contract worth $6 million on Thursday and added quarterback Jon Kitna to a four-year deal worth $11.5 million on Tuesday. Releasing or trading Harrington, a former first-round pick who has an 18-37 record as a starter, will save Detroit $5.4 million against the cap.

3/14/2006

Daunte Culpepper, mia

Culpepper's tumultuous stay in Minnesota is complete. The Vikings have agreed to trade Culpepper, pending a physical, to the Miami Dolphins for a second-round pick. Culpepper, a former University of Central Florida quarterback, will play in his home state.

3/8/2006

Junior Seau, mia

Seau was released by the Dolphins in an effort to get under the salary cap. The team will save $2.92 million against the cap with the move.

2/21/2006

Ricky Williams, mia

Williams is appealing a positive drug test, a source familiar with the case said Monday. If the test result is upheld, it would mean a fourth positive test and at least a one-year suspension for the troubled Miami running back. The ruling on the appeal isn't expected until April. Williams served a four-game suspension at the beginning of last year as a result of three positive tests.

2/19/2006

Daunte Culpepper, mia

Reportedly the Minnesota Vikings are gauging interest in Culpepper's services as they consider whether to trade their starting quarterback. The news comes amid reports that Culpepper has asked for a substantial raise after an injury-riddled 2005 season. The seven-year veteran played down speculation about his future, saying he is more interested in getting healthy for his return to the Vikings in 2006.

1/17/2006

Siddeeq Shabazz, mia

Shabazz has signed with the Miami Dolphins. The safety, who was a seventh-round pick in the 2003 NFL Draft (Oakland), spent part of the 2005 campaign with the New Orleans Saints, notching one tackle in two games before being released to make room on the roster for running back Anthony Thomas.

1/12/2006

Teyo Johnson, mia

Johnson has signed with the Miami Dolphins. The tight end, a second-round pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, was in training camp with the Oakland Raiders last summer, but was released before the start of the regular season. He then inked with the Arizona Cardinals, appearing in seven games and hauling in just three passes for 29 yards.

12/30/2005

Ronnie Brown, mia

After watching Brown practice on a limited basis the past couple of days, Dolphins head coach Nick Saban admitted that the second overall pick in this year's draft is not 100 percent. The running back missed last weekend's win over the Tennessee Titans with a sore knee and ankle, and he's currently listed as questionable for Sunday's season finale against the New England Patriots.

12/29/2005

Ronnie Brown, mia

After missing last week's game with an injured knee and ankle, Brown is listed as questionable for the Dolphins' regular season finale against the Patriots.

12/27/2005

Ricky Williams, mia

As anticipated, Williams got the starting nod in Saturday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans, handling the bulk of the Dolphins' rushing load in the absence of injured rookie Ronnie Brown. The veteran tailback took advantage of the opportunity, rushing for a season-high 172 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries.

12/24/2005

Ronnie Brown, mia

Brown was inactive for Saturday's game against Tennessee after sitting out practice all week. The rookie running back is nursing ankle and knee injuries.

12/22/2005

Ricky Williams, mia

Regular starter Ronnie Brown has been unable to practice with the Dolphins this week, and it appears he likely will be unavailable for Saturday's matchup with the Tennessee Titans. If that is the case, Williams is expected to get the starting nod in the backfield and get the majority of the carries for Miami.

Ronnie Brown, mia

Brown has yet to practice with the Miami Dolphins this week, decreasing his chances of playing in Saturday's matchup with the Tennessee Titans. The rookie running back, who officially is listed as questionable on the injury report, is nursing a sore left knee and ankle. He will be a game-time decision.

12/21/2005

Joey Harrington, mia

After taking over for the ineffective Jeff Garcia late in last weekend's contest, Harrington will get the starting nod in Saturday's matchup with the New Orleans Saints, according to Lions interim head coach Dick Jauron. The quarterback began the 2005 campaign atop the depth chart, but lost his job when the veteran Garcia returned from a broken leg. He's appeared in 10 games overall, including nine starts, going 154 of 267 for 1,599 yards, nine touchdowns and 11 picks.

12/20/2005

Ronnie Brown, mia

Nursing a sore left knee and ankle, Brown likely will be limited in practice this week, as the Dolphins prepare for a Saturday matchup with the Tennessee Titans. If the rookie running back is unable to go come the weekend, the team will turn to Ricky Williams to handle the bulk of the rushing load. He is considered as day-to-day at this point.

12/19/2005

Joey Harrington, mia

Harrington replaced Jeff Garcia in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 41-17 loss to the Bengals and finished with 77 yards and a touchdown on 6 of 7 passing. The fourth-year Lion had a season-high passer rating of 152.1. Harrington had started nine games before being demoted to Garcia's backup.

12/15/2005

Daunte Culpepper, mia

Culpepper, along with Vikings teammates Bryant McKinnie, Fred Smoot and Moe Williams, have been charged with indecent conduct, disorderly conduct and lewd or lascivious conduct for their actions during a boat party in early October. According to reports, crew members on the boat complained that some people took off their clothes and engaged in public sex acts during the cruise. A court date has been set for January 5.

12/14/2005

Seth McKinney, mia

McKinney will seek a second opinion on the knee injury he suffered in last Sunday's win over the San Diego Chargers, but at this point, surgery likely will be necessary. Even if the Dolphins' center isn't forced to go under the knife, it appears he will miss the last three games of the 2005 campaign.

12/12/2005

Keith Newman, mia

Newman was unable to return to the Minnesota Vikings' lineup after spraining his right knee in the second quarter of Sunday's win over the St. Louis Rams. The linebacker, who was replaced by Raonall Smith, will be re-evaluated on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.

Chris Chambers, mia

Chambers turned in his third consecutive solid performance, hauling in eight passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 23-21 victory over the San Diego Chargers. After failing to top the century mark in his first 10 games this season, the Dolphins' receiver has 100 or more yards in each of his last three contests.

12/9/2005

Marty Booker, mia

Booker made it through the Dolphins' practice unscathed on Thursday, prompting the team to upgrade him from questionable to probable on the injury report. Barring any setbacks, he will return to the starting lineup for Sunday's tussle with the San Diego Chargers after missing last weekend's victory over the Buffalo Bills with a strained calf muscle.

Mike Labinjo, mia

The Indianapolis Colts have promoted Labinjo from their practice squad, filling the roster spot of safety Joseph Jefferson, who will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. The linebacker began the year with the Philadelphia Eagles, notching four tackles in five games, including one start. However, he was released by the club in mid-October.

12/7/2005

Keith Traylor, mia

On Tuesday, Traylor underwent surgery to remove tissue from his ailing right knee. The Dolphins' defensive tackle, who has started 11 games this season, but did not play in Sunday's win over the Buffalo Bills, is considered week-to-week at this point. The team hopes to have him back before the end of the campaign.

Zach Thomas, mia

Thomas reported no major problems after returning to practice with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday. The starting middle linebacker, who missed the team's last two games with a shoulder injury and high ankle sprain, plans to be ready for Sunday's meeting with the San Diego Chargers.

Jason Taylor, mia

Tests on Taylor's ailing shoulder revealed no major damage, and the defensive end was able to practice with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday. At this point, it appears he will be ready for Sunday's battle with the San Diego Chargers.

12/5/2005

Jason Taylor, mia

Taylor will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the cause of the discomfort in his ailing shoulder. The Dolphins' defensive end was able to make it through Sunday's comeback victory over the Buffalo Bills, but played the majority of the game with the shoulder in a strap. He is listed as day-to-day.

12/4/2005

Marty Booker, mia

After failing to practice with the Dolphins because of a strained calf muscle, Booker will be inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills. The veteran receiver, who has not recorded a catch in his last two games, will be replaced in the starting lineup by Bryan Gilmore.

Chris Chambers, mia

Chambers had a career day in the Dolphins' comeback win over the Bills. After having his first 100-yard game of the season last week, Chambers had career highs of 15 receptions and 238 yards against Buffalo. His 238 receiving yards are tied for the 18th-most in a single game in NFL history.

12/1/2005

Marty Booker, mia

Nursing a strained calf muscle, Booker has been unable to work out with the Miami Dolphins this week, and he is highly questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills. The veteran receiver, who has not recorded a catch in his last two games, likely will be a game-time decision.

11/30/2005

Zach Thomas, mia

A shoulder injury and high ankle sprain will prevent Thomas from playing in Sunday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills, according to Dolphins head coach Nick Saban. The veteran linebacker, who missed last weekend's win over the Oakland Raiders as well, continues to be listed as week-to-week.

Joey Harrington, mia

Harrington will drop a spot on the Lions' depth chart, as Jeff Garcia has been named the starting quarterback for Sunday's meeting with the Minnesota Vikings, interim head coach Dick Jauron announced on Wednesday. Other than his three-touchdown outing against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10, Harrington has struggled overall this season, prompting the Lions to turn to the veteran Garcia.

11/28/2005

Chris Chambers, mia

Despite dislocating a finger, Chambers turned in his first 100-yard game of the 2005 campaign in Sunday's win over the Oakland Raiders, hauling in six passes for 101 yards. The receiver, who had a season-low 12 yards in the Dolphins' previous contest, has 45 catches for 599 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games this year.

11/25/2005

Junior Seau, mia

Seau is out for the season with a calf injury, but said he plans to return for a 17th season in 2006 even if it's with another team. The Dolphins linebacker played the past three games knowing there was a chance he could rupture his Achilles' tendon because of the calf injury he's had since September. Seau finished the 2004 season on injured reserve with a torn pectoral muscle.

11/23/2005

Joey Harrington, mia

The Detroit Lions have made a decision on their starting quarterback for Thursday's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons, but the information will not be released until shortly before kickoff, according to head coach Steve Mariucci. Both Harrington and Jeff Garcia have been taking snaps with the Lions' first-team offense this week.

Teyo Johnson, mia

Johnson has been released by the Arizona Cardinals. The former Raiders second-round draft pick was expected to step in as a pass-catching threat from the tight-end position after signing with the Cards in mid-September, but he failed to make an impact, notching just three receptions for 29 yards in seven games.

11/21/2005

Zach Thomas, mia

According to head coach Nick Saban, Thomas will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the separated right shoulder that knocked the linebacker out of Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. Thomas was injured late in the first half while trying to make a tackle on rookie quarterback Charlie Frye.

11/16/2005

Daunte Culpepper, mia

The swelling in Culpepper's injured right knee subsided enough for him to undergo surgery on Tuesday, more than two weeks after tearing his anterior cruciate, medial collateral and posterior cruciate ligaments in a game against the Carolina Panthers. The Vikings' quarterback could require up to a year of recovery time, but the team is optimistic that he will be ready for the start of training camp next summer.

11/14/2005

Joey Harrington, mia

With Jeff Garcia still out with soreness in his leg, Harrington got the starting nod for the second consecutive game in Sunday's meeting with the Arizona Cardinals. The Lions' quarterback took advantage of the opportunity, going 22 of 32 for 231 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He was sacked just once after going down 10 times in his previous two games combined.

11/10/2005

Joey Harrington, mia

Jeff Garcia continues to be bothered by soreness in the left leg he fractured earlier this year, so Harrington will get the nod in Sunday's matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, according to Lions head coach Steve Mariucci. Harrington began the year at the top of Detroit's depth chart, but lost the starting gig last month when Garcia returned.

11/8/2005

Cliff Russell, mia

Filling the roster spot of veteran wideout David Boston, who will miss the rest of the season with a nagging knee problem, Russell has signed with the Miami Dolphins. In 16 career games, including one start, Russell has hauled in three passes for 31 yards. He's also averaged 22.4 yards on 39 kickoff returns.

Siddeeq Shabazz, mia

Shabazz has been waived by the New Orleans Saints, opening a spot on the roster for running back Anthony Thomas, who signed with the team on Tuesday. The safety saw action in just two games this season, notching one tackle.

11/3/2005

Junior Seau, mia

Seau returned to practice with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, and barring any setbacks over the next couple of days, he will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. The veteran linebacker has been limited since straining a calf muscle in Week 3 and has been sidelined completely since Week 5.

Joey Harrington, mia

Harrington, who lost his spot in the Lions' starting lineup a couple weeks ago, will get the nod in Sunday's matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Jeff Garcia has been unable to practice this week, due to soreness in the left leg he fractured earlier this year, prompting the team to make the change. In five games this season, Harrington has posted a dismal 55.6 passer rating, going 76 of 143 for 798 yards, four touchdowns and eight interceptions.

11/2/2005

Josh Shaw, mia

Shaw has re-signed with the Miami Dolphins, filling the roster spot of linebacker Eddie Moore, who will miss the rest of the season with a nagging knee injury. The defensive tackle was with the Dolphins earlier this season, but was released a couple of weeks ago after failing to appear in a game.

Eddie Moore, mia

Moore has been placed on injured reserve by the Miami Dolphins, ending his 2005 campaign. Due to a nagging knee ailment, the linebacker saw limited playing time this season, notching just one tackle in five games. He will be replaced on the roster by defensive tackle Josh Shaw.

10/31/2005

Ricky Williams, mia

Williams saw his most extensive work since returning from a four-game suspension, picking up 82 yards on 17 carries in Sunday's victory over the New Orleans Saints. He shared time in the Dolphins' backfield with rookie Ronnie Brown, who finished with 106 yards on 23 rushes.

Daunte Culpepper, mia

An MRI exam has revealed that Culpepper has damage to the anterior cruciate, posterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his right knee, injuries suffered in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Carolina Panthers. The Vikings' quarterback will undergo surgery when the swelling in the knee subsides, and he will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign. Depending on his recovery, there is a chance that Culpepper could miss part of next season as well.

Ronnie Brown, mia

Despite sharing touches with Ricky Williams, Brown topped the century mark for the second time this season, rushing for 106 yards on 23 carries in Sunday's victory over the New Orleans Saints. Williams chipped in with 82 yards on 17 carries.

10/28/2005

Olindo Mare, mia

After missing some practice time earlier in the week with a sore left knee, Mare was back on the field on Thursday and participated in all his normal drills. The Dolphins' kicker, who suffered the injury while trying to make a tackle last weekend, is expected to be ready for Sunday's matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

10/26/2005

Olindo Mare, mia

Mare will be limited in practice over the next couple of days, but the Dolphins are hopeful that he will be ready for Sunday's matchup with the New Orleans Saints. The kicker, who hurt his knee while trying to make a tackle last weekend, currently is listed as questionable on the team's injury report.

Marty Booker, mia

Booker's sprained ankle is still a bit sore, and the Dolphins have listed him as questionable for Sunday's meeting with the New Orleans Saints. The veteran receiver was able to practice with the team on Wednesday, so it appears he should be good to go by the weekend. He'll receive treatment and be evaluated on a daily basis.

10/25/2005

Darian Barnes, mia

Filling the roster spot of Heath Evans, who was waived on Monday, the Miami Dolphins have signed Barnes for the rest of the season. Barnes was expected to serve as the Dallas Cowboys' starting fullback going into the 2005 campaign, but was released by the team after missing most of training camp with a sprained ankle.

10/24/2005

Daunte Culpepper, mia

Culpepper turned in one of his better performances of the 2005 campaign, leading the Vikings to a 23-20 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The quarterback, who has struggled for the majority of the season, completed 23 of his 31 pass attempts for 280 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He rushed for 41 yards on seven carries, but was sacked five times as well.

10/23/2005

Joey Harrington, mia

Lions' head coach Steve Mariucci has benched Harrington in favor of Jeff Garcia for Detroit's Week 7 trip to Cleveland. Harrington has started every game for the Lions over the past three seasons, but his 55.6 passer rating this year is the lowest in the league, and the lowest of his four-year career. Dating back to last season, Harrington has been held to one or no touchdown passes in 11 of his last 14 starts.

10/22/2005

Marty Booker, mia

Booker suffered a sprained ankle during Friday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. X-rays came back negative.

10/21/2005

Jason Taylor, mia

Due to swelling and soreness in his ailing foot, Taylor was on crutches following last Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he has yet to practice with the Dolphins this week. With the Dolphins-Chiefs game being moved up to Friday because of Hurricane Wilma, there is a chance the veteran defensive end won't be ready for action. He continues to be listed as questionable on Miami's injury report.

10/19/2005

Joey Harrington, mia

Coach Steve Mariucci will decide between Harrington and Jeff Garcia as his starting quarterback at game time this Sunday when the Lions square off against the Cleveland Browns.

Nick Rogers, mia

Rogers signed on with the Miami Dolphins.

10/18/2005

Cleo Lemon, mia

The San Diego Chargers have traded Lemon and an undisclosed draft pick to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for quarterback A.J. Feeley. Lemon has appeared in just one regular-season NFL game in his two years in the league and has yet to attempt a pass.

10/17/2005

Jason Taylor, mia

Taylor will be on crutches for at least the next couple of days after injuring his foot early in Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Dolphins' linebacker was able to return to the game, but his foot was quite swollen on Monday, according to head coach Nick Saban. His status will be updated later this week.

Ricky Williams, mia

In his first game since 2003, Williams was stifled by the Tampa Bay defense rushing five times for only eight yards. It is the second lowest rushing output in a game in his 71-game career. He did lead the team in receptions on Sunday with six resulting in 22 yards. Williams' time was limited in the second half by a bruised hip, but said the injury will not prevent him from practicing this week.

10/14/2005

Daunte Culpepper, mia

Culpepper, who has been playing with a sprained medial collateral ligament and bursitis in the right knee since the 2005 regular-season opener, has practiced with the Vikings all week without any major problems. The quarterback does not appear on the team's injury report and is slated to be under center for Sunday's matchup with the Chicago Bears.

10/11/2005

Daunte Culpepper, mia

Culpepper reported no major problems after workout out lightly with the Minnesota Vikings on Monday. The quarterback has been playing with a sprained medial collateral ligament and bursitis in the right knee since the 2005 regular-season opener and missed the team's practices last week after receiving a cortisone shot to help ease the discomfort. He plans to be under center when the team takes the field against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Mike Labinjo, mia

Labinjo has been released by the Philadelphia Eagles, opening a spot on the roster for Zeke Moreno, who signed a one-year contract with the team on Tuesday. In five games this season, including one start, Labinjo notched six tackles.

10/10/2005

Ricky Williams, mia

Williams will return to practice with the Miami Dolphins this week after serving a four-game suspension for violation of the league's substance abuse policy. The running back, who did not play last season following a brief "retirement," reportedly is in shape and should see some action in this weekend's meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Ronnie Brown, mia

For the second consecutive game, Brown averaged 5.7 yards per carry in Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills, picking up 97 yards on 17 rushes. The Dolphins' rookie running back, who also hauled in a career-high six passes for 19 yards, lost a costly fumble in the closing minutes of the contest, which sealed the Bills' victory.

10/7/2005

Junior Seau, mia

Seau, who has been limited since straining a calf muscle in the Dolphins' Week 3 victory over the Carolina Panthers, was able to practice with the team on Thursday and reported no major problems. Officially, the veteran linebacker has been listed as questionable, but barring any setbacks, he plans to be ready for this weekend's action.

Daunte Culpepper, mia

Culpepper did not practice with the Vikings on Thursday after earlier this week receiving a cortisone injection to help ease the discomfort in his ailing right knee. The quarterback has been playing with a sprained medial collateral ligament and bursitis in the knee since the 2005 regular-season opener, and with a bye this week, decided to get the shot. He plans to be under center when the team resumes play against the Chicago Bears in Week 6.

Randy McMichael, mia

McMichael has signed a four-year contract extension that will keep him with the Miami Dolphins through the 2009 campaign. The new deal reportedly is worth about $18 million, making him the fifth-highest paid tight end in the NFL, trailing only Kansas City's Tony Gonzalez, Baltimore's Todd Heap, Atlanta's Alge Crumpler and San Diego's Antonio Gates.

10/4/2005

Daunte Culpepper, mia

The cause of the soreness and swelling in Culpepper's right knee is a sprained medial collateral ligament and bursitis, according to the Minnesota Vikings. The quarterback has been battling the ailments since the regular-season opener, but he doesn't plan on missing any game action. The knee has limited his mobility, resulting in 20 sacks and 10 interceptions through four games.

10/3/2005

Daunte Culpepper, mia

Culpepper was sacked nine times in Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons, and following the game, he admitted that the soreness in his right knee is limiting his mobility and scrambling ability. The Vikings' quarterback, who has been battling the injury since the season opener, finished Sunday's game 23 of 34 for 250 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He also fumbled twice, losing one.

9/29/2005

Lester Towns, mia

For the second time this month, Towns has been released by the Arizona Cardinals. After being cut just prior to the regular season, the linebacker re-signed with the club on September 13 and appeared in two games, notching nine tackles. He will be replaced on the roster by cornerback Robert Tate.

9/28/2005

Junior Seau, mia

An MRI on Seau's leg has confirmed a strained calf, but no other problems were found. With a bye in Week 4, the veteran linebacker is expected to be ready for the Dolphins' next contest, an October 9 battle with the Buffalo Bills.

9/26/2005

Junior Seau, mia

Seau was forced to leave late in Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, due to a lower leg ailment. Initial reports said the veteran linebacker suffered an Achilles injury, but instead, he is nursing a strained calf. With a bye in Week 4, Seau is expected to be ready for the Dolphins' next contest.

Daunte Culpepper, mia

After getting off to a horrendous start to the 2005 campaign, Culpepper finally got back on track in Sunday's victory over the New Orleans Saints. Through the first two games of the season, the Vikings' quarterback was without a passing touchdown, had been picked off eight times, sacked five times and lost two fumbles. On Sunday, he posted a 140.0 passer rating, going 21 of 29 for 300 yards, three touchdowns and no picks.

Ronnie Brown, mia

Brown rushed for a career-high 132 yards and recorded the first touchdown of his NFL career on 23 carries in Sunday's victory over the Carolina Panthers. The Dolphins' tailback, who was the second overall pick in this year's draft, also added three catches for 15 yards. Reportedly, he played most of the second half with a sore hamstring.

9/20/2005

Daunte Culpepper, mia

According to Vikings head coach Mike Tice, Culpepper is nursing some minor soreness in his right knee, but the ailment has yet to force the quarterback to miss any time. Culpepper was sporting an elastic brace on the knee during Sunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, when he posted a dismal 36.4 passer rating, the worst of his NFL career.

9/19/2005

Daunte Culpepper, mia

Culpepper's 2005 struggles continued in Sunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, as he posted a dismal 36.4 passer rating, the worst of his NFL career. The Vikings' quarterback, who had five turnovers in the team's season opener last week, finished Sunday's game 21 of 37 for 236 yards, a career-high five interceptions and no passing touchdowns. He did rush for a TD, but it was not nearly enough in the 37-8 defeat.

Joey Harrington, mia

Harrington threw a career-high five interceptions in Sunday's embarrassing 38-6 loss to the Chicago Bears and was replaced in the lineup by rookie Dan Orlovsky when the game was well out of hand in the fourth quarter. Prior to his departure, the Lions' quarterback was pressured by the Bears' defense all game, finishing 19 of 37 for 196 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked twice.

9/15/2005

Ronnie Brown, mia

Brown banged his left shoulder in the Dolphins' season-opening win over the Denver Broncos, and due to lingering soreness, he shows up on this week's injury report as probable. However, the injury is considered minor, and the rookie running back took part in all non-contact drills without any problems on Wednesday. In his regular-season debut last weekend, Brown picked up 57 yards on 22 carries and hauled in one pass for four yards.

9/13/2005

Lester Towns, mia

Towns has re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals after being released by the club earlier this month. The linebacker, a seventh-round pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, has 197 tackles, one interception and two forced fumble in 55 games, including 30 starts -- all coming with the Carolina Panthers.

Teyo Johnson, mia

Johnson has signed with the Arizona Cardinals after being released by the Oakland Raiders earlier this month. The tight end takes the roster spot of injured fullback James Hodgins, who will miss the rest of the season with a torn ligament in his knee. In 24 career games since being selected in the second round of the 2003 NFL Draft, Johnson has 23 catches for 259 yards and three touchdowns.

9/12/2005

For the first time in 22 games, Culpepper failed to throw a touchdown pass, as the Vikings lost their season opener to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-13, on Sunday. The quarterback went 22 of 33 for 233 yards, but was picked off three times and lost two fumbles. He was sacked twice as well.

Marty Booker, mia

Booker topped the 100-yard plateau for the first time in 11 games, hauling in five passes for 104 yards in Sunday's season-opening victory over the Denver Broncos. One catch by the Dolphins' receiver went 60 yards for a touchdown.

9/10/2005

Donnie Jones, mia

The Dolphins elevated Jones from its practice squad on saturday and placed veteran punter Matt Turk on injured reserve. Jones, who played for Nick Saban at LSU, averaged 45.2 yards per punt this preseason. He played in six games with Seattle last year but was waived in late November after averaging just 38 yards per punt.

9/9/2005

Derrius Thompson, mia

Thompson has been released by the Miami Dolphins after reaching an injury settlement with the club. Nursing a hamstring problem, the receiver was placed on injured reserve last week. He finished the 2004 campaign with 23 catches for 359 yards and four touchdowns.

Randy McMichael, mia

McMichael has been sentenced to three months probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanor criminal trespass. The charge stems from an incident in July when the Dolphins' tight end reportedly gave his wife a bloody nose in an argument. He originally faced public drunkenness and family violence battery as well, but those two charges were dropped as part of a plea bargain.

9/6/2005

Kelly Campbell, mia

Campbell has been waived by the Minnesota Vikings, opening a spot on the roster for Koren Robinson, who agreed to a two-year contract with the team on Tuesday. Campbell was expected to serve as a backup receiver this season, but missed most of training camp with a strained quadriceps muscle, likely the primary reason for his release.

9/3/2005

Teyo Johnson, mia

Johnson was released by the Oakland Raiders on Saturday. A second-round pick by Oakland in 2003, the tight end accounted for just 23 catches in 24 games over the past two seasons.

9/2/2005

David Bowens, mia

Bowens has been diagnosed with a bruised right knee, an injury that forced him to leave in the second quarter of Thursday's preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons. Precautionary X-rays were negative, and the Dolphins have listed the defensive end as day-to-day.

9/1/2005

Joey Harrington, mia

Harrington did not practice with the Lions on Wednesday, and there is a good chance that he'll skip Friday's preseason finale against the Buffalo Bills, due to a minor groin injury. The quarterback, who aggravated the ailment in Monday night's loss to the St. Louis Rams, said he is not in danger of missing the start of the regular season.

Kelly Campbell, mia

Campbell has been sidelined for most of training camp with a strained right quadriceps muscle, but he has been showing gradual improvement recently. Despite the progress, the Vikings already have ruled out the receiver for Friday's preseason finale. In 16 games last season, he had 19 catches for 364 yards and a touchdown.

8/30/2005

Zach Thomas, mia

After missing a few days with a slightly sprained ankle, Thomas returned to practice with the Miami Dolphins on Monday. The team doesn't plan to take any chances with the linebacker, and it's likely that he'll be held out of Thursday's preseason finale as a precautionary measure. Rookie Channing Crowder likely will get another starting nod in his absence.

Larry Chester, mia

Chester had been optimistic that he would be ready for the start of the regular season, but he'll miss at least the first six weeks after being placed on the physically unable to perform list by the Miami Dolphins. The defensive tackle played in just two games last season before missing the rest of the campaign with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. He continues to recover from that injury.

Will Poole, mia

Not expected to return until at least mid-season, Poole has been placed on the physically unable to perform list by the Miami Dolphins, officially ruling him out of the first six weeks of the regular season. The cornerback continues to recover after undergoing surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, an injury suffered during the Miami Dolphins' mini-camp in May.

8/25/2005

Zach Thomas, mia

8/24/2005

Darian Barnes, mia

Barnes was slated to serve as the Dallas Cowboys' starting fullback this season, but the 25-year-old has been released by the team after missing the majority of training camp with a sprained ankle. Lousaka Polite has been lining up with the first-team offense and will handle the majority of the blocking-back duties going forward.

8/22/2005

Joey Harrington, mia

According to Detroit Lions head coach Steve Mariucci, Harrington is not in danger of losing his starting job, despite the offseason addition of veteran signal caller Jeff Garcia. Harrington finished the 2004 campaign 274 of 489 for 3,047 yards, 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 16 games.

8/19/2005

Lester Towns, mia

8/17/2005

8/15/2005

Junior Seau, mia

Seau, who continues to recover from the torn pectoral muscle that ended his 2004 campaign, returned to practice with the Miami Dolphins last week, albeit on a limited basis. The veteran linebacker is expected to expand his workouts over the next several days, and barring any setbacks, he could see action in the team's preseason meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers next week.

Kelly Campbell, mia

Campbell is expected to be sidelined at least the majority of this week after aggravating his strained right quadriceps muscle last weekend. The receiver, who missed Friday's exhibition meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs, likely will miss the Vikings' next preseason contest as well.

Ronnie Brown, mia

After missing the first three weeks of training camp in a holdout, Brown has signed with the Miami Dolphins, agreeing to a reported five-year contract. Although official financial terms were not released, the rookie running back, who was the second overall pick in this year's draft, is expected to receive nearly $20 million in guaranteed money. Brown is scheduled to report to camp on Monday.

8/8/2005

7/28/2005

Lance Schulters, mia

David Bowens, mia

The Dolphins signed Bowens to a one-year contract extension on Friday that will keep the sixth-year defensive end in Miami through the 2006 campaign. In his first year as a starter, Bowens played in all 16 games and logged seven sacks and three forced fumbles for Miami last season. He has been with the Dolphins for the past four seasons after coming over from Green Bay prior to the 2001 campaign.

7/19/2005

Ricky Williams, mia

Williams will be eligible to join the Miami Dolphins for the start of training camp after being reinstated by the NFL. The running back, who retired last summer, still faces a four-game suspension from the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy, so he likely won't be available until at least Week 5 of the regular season. In addition, he'll face some competition from Ronnie Brown, the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft.

7/12/2005

Randy McMichael, mia

McMichael was charged with simple battery and criminal trespass after reportedly giving his wife a bloody nose during a domestic dispute early Saturday morning. 7/8/2005

Ricky Williams, mia

After rumors circled earlier this year that Williams had dropped to 195 pounds -- or 30 pounds below his regular playing weight -- the Dolphins' running back reportedly is back up to 215, as he prepares for the start of training camp and the 2005 campaign. Williams is returning to the club after announcing his retirement last summer and skipping the entire 2004 season.

6/16/2005

Lance Schulters, mia

Unable to agree to terms on a restructured contract, the Titans cut Schulters on Thursday. The team had hoped the 30-year-old starting safety would take a pay cut after missing all but three games last season due to a severely sprained left foot. By releasing Schulters now, Tennessee will be able to spread his cap hit over the next two seasons.

Travares Tillman, mia

Tillman will undergo arthroscopic surgery later this week to repair minor cartilage damage in his left knee. The Miami free safety suffered the injury during practice on Saturday. He is expected to be out of action for 4-6 weeks, but should still be available for the start of the Dolphins' training camp on July 24. Tillman signed with Miami in early March after spending the previous two seasons in Carolina. A broken arm limited him to six games in 2004.

6/10/2005

6/8/2005

Tim Bowens, mia

The Dolphins waived Bowens on Wednesday after he failed a physical, and it's likely that the 11-year veteran will retire. Bowens, who has been with Miami his entire career, played in just two games last season due to a herniated disc in his back. 6/4/2005

L.J. Shelton, mia

5/16/2005

As anticipated, Poole underwent surgery on Monday to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, an injury suffered during the Miami Dolphins' mini-camp earlier this month. The cornerback, who played in 15 games as a rookie last year, primarily on special teams and in nickel packages, likely will miss the entire 2005 campaign.

5/11/2005

Will Poole, mia

Tests confirmed that Poole did suffer a torn ACL, an injury that he sustained in practice. The Miami cornerback will be scheduled for surgery as soon as the swelling subsides, which the team hopes will be in another week or two. If the surgery and subsequent rehab go well, there is a chance Poole could return sometime in October. Poole played in 15 games as a rookie last year, primarily on special teams and in nickel packages.
