St. Louis Rams

7/31/2006

Tye Hill, stl

Hill, the Rams' first-round pick, signed a five-year contract on Sunday night after spending the previous two nights in a hotel near Rams Park as negotiations neared completion.

7/21/2006

Marshall Faulk, stl

Faulk will have major reconstructive knee surgery and be sidelined for the 2006 season. The 33-year-old running back hasn't participated in the Rams' minicamps this year and had been contemplating retirement before news of his latest surgery. "We were hoping for the best, but we've been planning for both scenarios," said Rams first-year coach Scott Linehan. "I think reality is setting in for sure that potentially his career is winding down."

6/10/2006

Marshall Faulk, stl

Faulk is not attending the Rams' final minicamp this weekend while contemplating retirement because of knees that have been slow to recover from offseason cleanup surgery. St. Louis coach Scott Linehan said Faulk's agent, Rocky Arceneaux, told him again on Thursday that the running back "wasn't physically ready to go."

3/18/2006

Gus Frerotte, stl

The Rams signed Frerotte to a three-year contract. Frerotte completed 257 of 494 passes for 2,996 yards and 18 touchdowns in 16 games with the Dolphins last season. Frerotte threw 13 interceptions.

3/12/2006

Will Witherspoon, stl

The new-look Rams defense should have at least three different starters this season. The Rams signed former Carolina Panthers linebacker Will Witherspoon, 25, to a six-year deal worth $33 million, including $15 million in guarantees.

3/11/2006

Corey Chavous, stl

Chavous reportedly signed a five-year contract with the St. Louis Rams Saturday. The former Minnesota Vikings safety, 30, had spent four years with the franchise, making the Pro Bowl in 2003.

3/10/2006

Isaac Bruce, stl

Bruce is returning to the Rams five days after his release for salary cap reasons. The four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver agreed to a three-year deal worth $15 million, $6 million of which is for the upcoming season. Bruce has played for only the Rams in his 12-year career, the first of which when the team played home games in Los Angeles.

3/6/2006

Isaac Bruce, stl

Bruce was released by the Rams after the two sides could not agree to a restructured contract. The move saves the Rams $8 million against the salary cap, although they are interested in continuing negotiations.

3/3/2006

La'Roi Glover, stl

Glover, a 10-year veteran who signed with the Cowboys as a free agent in 2002, was cut Thursday. Glover made his sixth Pro Bowl last season, finishing with 26 tackles and three sacks. He has 71 1/2 career sacks, second all-time among defensive tackles behind Warren Sapp's 84 1/2.

1/1/2006

Steven Jackson, stl

Jackson is nursing a hip pointer that, according to interim head coach Joe Vitt, has grown worse this week, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. His status for the Rams' Sunday matchup in Dallas has been downgraded to questionable. Jackson has rushed for 1,046 yards and eight touchdowns in his second NHL season.

12/28/2005

Steven Jackson, stl

Jackson continues to battle a hip pointer, but he fully expects to be in the starting lineup for Sunday's season finale against the Dallas Cowboys. Hobbled by the hip injury, a sore foot and a nasty virus that landed him in the hospital Friday evening, the Rams' running back was limited to just 28 yards on 16 carries in last Saturday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

12/23/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

The Miami Herald reports Frerotte expects to be in the lineup Saturday when Miami hosts the Titans in its last home game of the season. The Dolphins' quarterback, who sprained his right index finger, has been practicing all week. Frerotte is 221 of 429 for 2,606 yards, 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions through 14 games this season.

12/22/2005

Chris Claiborne, stl

Due to a nagging knee problem, Claiborne has been placed on injured reserve by the St. Louis Rams, officially ending his season. The linebacker, who did not play last week, will be replaced in the lineup by Trev Faulk.

Steven Jackson, stl

Nursing a hip pointer and a sore foot, Jackson was held out of practice on Wednesday, but Rams interim head coach Joe Vitt indicated that the move was precautionary. The running back currently is listed as probable on the team's injury report, and he's expected to be in the lineup for Saturday's matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

12/21/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

Frerotte's sprained right index finger has improved significantly over the past couple of days, and the quarterback was able to return to practice with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday. Barring any setbacks, it appears that he will be ready for Saturday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans.

Marc Bulger, stl

With no shot at the playoffs, the St. Louis Rams have decided to place Bulger on injured reserve, officially bringing his 2005 campaign to an end. The quarterback has been sidelined since Week 11, missing the team's last four games with a bruised right (throwing) shoulder. A similar problem forced him to sit out two contests earlier this year.

Tony Fisher, stl

Fisher will step into the Green Bay Packers' starting lineup over the last two weeks of the 2005 campaign, filling the void created when Samkon Gado suffering a season-ending knee injury last weekend. In 12 games this season, Fisher has 135 yards and one touchdown on 47 carries, along with 34 catches for 242 yards and a score.

12/20/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

Frerotte aggravated the sprained index finger on his throwing hand while trying to make a tackle late in the first half of Sunday's win over the New York Jets. The Dolphins' veteran quarterback was unable to return in the third quarter, giving way to backup Sage Rosenfels. The finger was still quite swollen on Monday, putting his availability for Saturday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans up in the air.

Steven Jackson, stl

Jackson saw limited action in the second half of Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, due to a hip pointer. The Rams' running back, who had 82 yards on 16 carries prior to his departure, could miss some practice time over the next couple of days, but he hopes to be ready for Saturday's tussle with the San Francisco 49ers.

12/14/2005

Cam Cleeland, stl

Cleeland has been released by the St. Louis Rams. The veteran tight end signed with the team in early October and appeared in nine games, but hauled in just five passes for 17 yards and a touchdown. Jerome Collins is slated to be promoted from the practice squad to fill the void on the 53-man roster.

Travis Fisher, stl

As anticipated, Fisher will miss the rest of the season with a slight tear in his groin. The cornerback, who has been absent from the Rams' lineup five of the last six games, was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday, officially bringing his 2005 campaign to an end. He will be replaced on the roster by defensive tackle Jeremy Callahan.

12/13/2005

Marc Bulger, stl

Bulger's bruised right (throwing) shoulder continues to improve, but the quarterback has said that he won't return to action this season unless he's back to 100 percent. With three games remaining on the schedule and the Rams' playoff chances dwindling, it appears Bulger's 2005 campaign is all but over. Ryan Fitzpatrick already has been named the starter for this week's matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.

12/12/2005

Marshall Faulk, stl

Faulk's limited role in the Rams' offense continued in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings, as he finished with 25 yards on five carries, along with four catches for 32 yards. However, his performance was good enough to record a milestone, as the veteran became the NFL's career leader in receiving yards by a running back, surpassing Larry Centers, who formerly held the mark. In 12 seasons, Faulk has 6,801 yards on 753 receptions.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, stl

Fitzpatrick definitely looked like a rookie in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, posting a dismal 32.4 passer rating. The Rams' quarterback, who was a seventh-round pick in this year's draft, finished the contest 26 of 45 for 235 yards, five interceptions and no passing touchdowns. He rushed for 16 yards and notched his second rushing TD of the season on five carries.

12/10/2005

Travis Fisher, stl

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Fisher probably will miss the season's remainder due to what's been diagnosed as a slight groin tear.

12/9/2005

Steven Jackson, stl

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Jackson is starting to lose patience over his lack of involvement in the Rams' offense. The running back has had 12 or fewer carries in two of the Rams' last three games and is expressing skepticism over Joe Vitt's desire to have a balanced offense.

Dwight Anderson, stl

Anderson has re-signed with the St. Louis Rams. The cornerback, who was cut just prior to the start of the regular season, takes the roster spot of injured defensive back Terry Fair. Anderson appeared in 12 games in 2004, notching 12 tackles.

12/8/2005

Terry Fair, stl

Bothered by the neck injury he originally suffered late in the preseason, Fair has been placed on injured reserve by the St. Louis Rams, officially ending his 2005 campaign. The veteran cornerback saw limited action in just five games this season, finishing the year with three tackles.

Blaine Saipaia, stl

Saipaia has been placed on injured reserve by the St. Louis Rams, officially bringing his 2005 campaign to an end. The offensive lineman, who is recovering from a concussion, appeared in nine games this season, including three starts. Linebacker Jeremy Loyd was signed to fill the void on the roster.

Steven Jackson, stl

The St. Louis Rams decided to give Jackson the day off on Wednesday to allow him to rest his sore ankle. The move was considered precautionary, and the running back plans to be in the starting lineup for Sunday's tussle with the Minnesota Vikings. He has been listed as probable on this week's injury report.

12/7/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

As anticipated, Frerotte was able to practice with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, and he declared himself ready for Sunday's matchup with the San Diego Chargers. The veteran quarterback was forced to leave last weekend's win over the Buffalo Bills with a mild concussion, but showed up to the team's facilities the next day feeling fine.

12/6/2005

Ryan Fitzpatrick, stl

Rams interim head coach Joe Vitt has decided that Fitzpatrick will remain under center going forward, at least until regular starter Marc Bulger is able to return from his shoulder injury. The rookie quarterback, who made his first NFL start this past weekend, is 40 of 66 for 473 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in two games. He also has a rushing TD, but has been sacked eight times and fumbled twice, losing one.

12/5/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

According to Dolphins head coach Nick Saban, Frerotte was feeling fine when he reported to the team's facilities on Monday morning, a day after leaving a win over the Buffalo Bills with a mild concussion. The veteran quarterback is expected to practice with the team this week and get the starting nod in next Sunday's matchup with the San Diego Chargers.

Dexter Coakley, stl

Coakley suffered a dislocated left ankle and broken leg when he was rolled over from behind in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Washington Redskins. According to Rams interim head coach Joe Vitt, the veteran linebacker will undergo surgery this week and miss the rest of the 2005 campaign. He will be placed on injured reserve.

Torry Holt, stl

Holt surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the sixth consecutive season in Sunday's 24-9 loss to Washington. The Rams' wideout caught six passes for 75 yards in the contest.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, stl

Making his first career start in place of the injured Jamie Martin, Fitzpatrick was 21 for 36 for 163 yards and an interception in Sunday's loss to Washington. The Rams' quarterback was sacked three times and lost a fumble, but also ran for a touchdown, the only St. Louis offensive score of the game.

12/2/2005

Orlando Pace, stl

Pace was forced to leave early in last weekend's overtime victory over the Houston Texans, due to a strained hamstring and hip flexor. The Rams' offensive tackle has responded to treatment over the past couple of days, and barring any setbacks, he will be in the lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Washington Redskins.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, stl

Fitzpatrick has taken all of the snaps with the Rams' first-team offense this week, and on Friday, he officially was named the team's starter for Sunday's meeting with the Washington Redskins. After Jamie Martin was knocked out of last week's game with blurred vision, the rookie quarterback stepped into the lineup and led the team to an overtime victory over the Houston Texans. He finished 19 of 30 for 310 yards and three touchdowns.

12/1/2005

Ryan Fitzpatrick, stl

Jamie Martin did not practice with the St. Louis Rams on Wednesday, as he continues to be bothered by blurred vision. As a result, Fitzpatrick took all the snaps with the first-team offense and is expected to be under center when the team takes the field against the Washington Redskins on Sunday. Stepping in after Martin went down last weekend, the rookie quarterback led the Rams to a comeback overtime victory over the Houston Texans.

11/30/2005

Alex Barron, stl

Barron is scheduled to undergo surgery on Thursday to repair damage to his thumb, an injury suffered in the fourth quarter of Sunday's overtime victory over the Houston Texans. The Rams are unsure how much time the rookie offensive lineman might miss, but his status likely will be updated following the procedure.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, stl

Although nothing is official, it appears the St. Louis Rams are leaning toward giving Fitzpatrick the starting nod in Sunday's matchup with the Washington Redskins. After Jamie Martin was knocked out of last week's game with blurred vision, the rookie quarterback stepped into the lineup and led the team to an overtime victory over the Houston Texans. He finished 19 of 30 for 310 yards and three touchdowns, but tossed one interception and was sacked five times.

11/28/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

Bruce found the end zone for the second consecutive week, hauling in four passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's comeback victory over the Houston Texans. The Rams' 12-year veteran receiver also topped 12,000 yards receiving for his NFL career, becoming just the 11th player in league history to reach the plateau.

Torry Holt, stl

For the second consecutive week, Holt posted double-digit receptions and topped the century mark, hauling in 10 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's overtime victory over the Houston Texans. The Rams' veteran receiver has found the end zone in seven of his last eight games.

Steven Jackson, stl

After rushing for just six yards in a loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week, Jackson got back on track in Sunday's overtime win over the Houston Texans, rumbling for 110 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. It was his first rushing TD since Week 7.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, stl

Making his NFL debut, Fitzpatrick was forced into duty after Jamie Martin was knocked out of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. The Rams' rookie quarterback, who was a seventh-round pick in this year's draft, led the team to a comeback overtime victory, going 19 of 30 for 310 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He was sacked five times.

11/22/2005

Marc Bulger, stl

Even though an MRI on Bulger's ailing right (throwing) shoulder revealed no structural damage, there is more swelling than when the Rams' quarterback sprained the AC joint and missed nearly a month earlier this season. Reportedly, the new injury, which has been diagnosed as a bruise, could keep Bulger sidelined the rest of the 2005 campaign. In addition to the shoulder problem, Bulger suffered a minor concussion when he took a blindside hit in Sunday's loss to Arizona.

Tony Fisher, stl

Returning to action following a two-week absence (broken rib), Fisher was expected to see limited work in Monday night's matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. However, after starter Samkon Gado dropped a pass in the second quarter and fumbled in the third, Fisher got the majority of the touches out of the Packers' backfield the remainder of the game. He finished with 14 yards on four carries, along with four catches for 25 yards.

11/21/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

Frerotte was not expected to play in Sunday's matchup with the Cleveland Browns, but after fill-in starter Sage Rosenfels went 5 of 10 for 14 yards, two interceptions and no touchdowns, head coach Nick Saban decided to turn to the veteran quarterback late in the third quarter. He obviously was still bothered by soreness and swelling in his right index finger, completing just four of his 18 pass attempts for 53 yards.

Torry Holt, stl

Holt was busy on Sunday, hauling in a season-high 11 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown in a 38-28 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams' receiver was playing in his second game since missing three weeks with a bruise and strained posterior cruciate ligament in his knee.

Marc Bulger, stl

An MRI on Bulger's ailing right (throwing) shoulder has confirmed the original diagnosis of a bruise, but no structural damage was found. The Rams' quarterback, who also suffered a concussion when he took a crushing blindside blow from Adrian Wilson late in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals, said he would be sidelined for at least a couple of weeks. Jamie Martin will take over as the top signal caller in his absence.

Tony Fisher, stl

Fisher remains listed as questionable on the Packers' injury report, but as long as he feels good during pregame warmups, he'll be available for Monday night's meeting with the Minnesota Vikings. The running back, who has been sidelined for nearly three weeks with a fractured first rib under his right collarbone, likely will serve as the team's third-down back, allowing Samkon Gado to remain in the starting role and handle the majority of the carries.

Steven Jackson, stl

Jackson turned in his worst performance of the 2005 campaign, picking up just six yards on 12 carries in Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams' running back, who added three catches for 16 yards, also lost a fumble, his third of the season.

11/20/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

Frerotte will serve as emergency quarterback, with Sage Rosenfels getting the starting assignment for today's game against the Cleveland Browns.

11/18/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

Frerotte's swollen right index finger has shown improvement over the past couple of days, and the quarterback was able to make a few throws on the side during Thursday's practice, but he did not take part in any team drills. According to Dolphins head coach Nick Saban, a final decision on a starter for Sunday's meeting with the Cleveland Browns has yet to be made, but he indicated Frerotte could get the nod, even if he doesn't see any action at practice this week.

11/17/2005

Tony Fisher, stl

Fisher took part in portions of the Packers' practice on Wednesday, albeit on a limited basis. The running back, who has been sidelined for nearly three weeks with a fractured first rib under his right collarbone, should be allowed to expand his workouts over the next couple of days, including contact work, according to head coach Mike Sherman. Officially, he is listed as questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Minnesota Vikings.

11/16/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

At this point, it appears Frerotte's swollen right index finger will force him to miss Sunday's matchup with the Cleveland Browns, but the Dolphins plan to give him a few more days to recover before making a final decision. The quarterback, who suffered the injury in last weekend's loss to the New England Patriots, will be listed as questionable on this week's injury report. Sage Rosenfels will get the starting nod if Frerotte is unable to go.

Tom Nutten, stl

Nutten's nagging neck injury has shown no improvement over the past couple of weeks -- in fact, it's gotten worse -- prompting the St. Louis Rams to place the veteran guard on injured reserve, officially ending his 2005 campaign. Bothered by a slightly herniated disc, Nutten will need 6-8 weeks of rest and recovery time, but surgery should not be required.

Moe Williams, stl

As anticipated, Williams underwent arthroscopic surgery on his ailing knee this week, and unfortunately, doctors found more problems than anticipated originally. The damage was repaired, but the running back is expected to miss the rest of the 2005 campaign as he recovers from the procedure. He will be placed on injured reserve by the Vikings in the near future. Williams has battled back problems this year as well.

Larry Turner, stl

Filling the roster spot of guard Tom Nutten, who will miss the rest of the season with a neck injury, Turner has signed with the St. Louis Rams. The offensive lineman signed with the Cincinnati Bengals last month, but was later released.

11/14/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

After failing to top 200 yards passing in five of his previous eight games this year, Frerotte broke through with a season-best 360-yard performance in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the New England Patriots, despite playing the majority of the contest with a sore index finger on his passing hand. The Dolphins' quarterback finished the game 25 of 47 with two touchdowns and one interception. He avoiding being sacked for the second consecutive contest.

Moe Williams, stl

Williams is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery later this week to determine the cause of the discomfort in his ailing knee. The Vikings' running back, who has been dealing with back pain as well, will be sidelined indefinitely. Ciatrick Fason will continue to fill the role as the team's short-yardage back until Williams is able to return.

Marc Bulger, stl

Playing for the first time in nearly a month, Bulger went 28 of 40 for 304 yards, one touchdown and an interception in Sunday's 31-16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams' quarterback, who had missed the team's previous two games with a sprained AC joint in his right (throwing) shoulder, has topped 300 yards passing four times this season.

11/13/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

Bruce will be back in the starting lineup for the first time since Week 3, when the Rams take on the Seattle Seahawks today.

11/12/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

Bruce has practiced this week, and it is looking more likely that the receiver will be able to play when the Rams face the Seattle Seahawks Sunday. Bruce has been sidelined since Week 3 with a toe injury.

Fakhir Brown, stl

Brown was arrested Wednesday in San Antonio on a DWI charge. He is the second Saints player in two weeks to face a DWI charge in San Antonio. Courtney Watson was arrested on drunk driving charges on Oct. 26.

Tony Fisher, stl

Fisher has been declared out for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons because of a fractured rib.

11/10/2005

Torry Holt, stl

Holt has been practicing with the Rams all week and has reported no problems with his troublesome knee, prompting the team to upgrade him to probable on the injury report. The veteran receiver, who has been sidelined for more than three weeks with a bruise and strained posterior cruciate ligament, will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, barring any last-minute setbacks.

Marc Bulger, stl

Sidelined since spraining the AC joint in his right (throwing) shoulder more than three weeks ago, Bulger has been practicing without any restrictions this week, and the Rams plan to have him under center for Sunday's meeting with the Seattle Seahawks. The veteran quarterback is not even listed on the team's injury report.

Tony Fisher, stl

The Green Bay Packers still do not have a definite timetable for Fisher's return, as the running back continues to be sidelined with a fractured first rib under his right collarbone, which is causing discomfort in his right shoulder blade. He has been listed as doubtful for this weekend's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.

11/9/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

As he had hoped, Bruce was able to expand his involvement in the Rams' practice on Wednesday, and barring any setbacks over the next couple of days, he plans to be in the lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Seattle Seahawks, according to interim head coach Joe Vitt. The veteran receiver, who has been sidelined since Week 3 with a nagging turf toe injury, officially is listed as questionable.

Richie Incognito, stl

Slow to recover from surgery to repair a problem with his kneecap, Incognito has been placed on injured reserve by the St. Louis Rams. The rookie offensive lineman, who was a third-round pick in this year's draft, will not play in 2005.

11/8/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

Despite his recent struggles, Frerotte is not in danger of losing his starting job, according to Dolphins head coach Nick Saban. The veteran quarterback has failed to pass for more than 170 yards in any of his last three games and has three interceptions and only one touchdown over that span.

Isaac Bruce, stl

Bruce was able to take part in portions of the Rams' practice on Monday, but his availability for Sunday's meeting with the Seattle Seahawks is still up in the air. The veteran receiver, who has been sidelined since Week 3 with a nagging turf toe injury, hopes to expand his workouts over the next few days.

Torry Holt, stl

Holt reported no major problems with his ailing knee after returning to practice with the St. Louis Rams on Monday. The veteran receiver, who has been sidelined for more than three weeks with a bruise and strained posterior cruciate ligament, will expand his involvement over the coming days in hopes of being ready for Sunday's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

Marc Bulger, stl

Bulger took the majority of the snaps with the Rams' first-team offense at practice on Monday, his first extensive work since spraining the AC joint in his right (throwing) shoulder more than three weeks ago. Barring any setbacks over the next few days, the quarterback will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

11/7/2005

Tony Fisher, stl

Further tests have revealed that Fisher has a fractured first rib under his right collarbone, which is causing discomfort in his right shoulder blade. The running back, who missed Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, reportedly could be sidelined for several more weeks. He was slated to take over as the Packers' primary tailback in the absence of Ahman Green and Najeh Davenport, but the team now will look to Samkon Gado and ReShard Lee to fill the void.

11/6/2005

Moe Williams, stl

Williams is not expected to be available for Sunday's meeting with the Detroit Lions, as he continues to be hampered by a back problem and a sore knee. The Vikings will look to Ciatrick Fason to fill the role as the team's short-yardage back until Williams is able to return.

Tony Fisher, stl

Fisher will not play in Sunday's meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers, due to bruised ribs. In the running back's absence, ReShard Lee and Samkon Gado will split carries for the Green Bay Packers.

Alex Holmes, stl

The Miami Dolphins have promoted Holmes from their practice squad. The undrafted rookie tight end out of USC recorded 10 catches for 95 yards in preseason action. Will Heller was cut to make room on the roster.

11/2/2005

Jeff Wilkins, stl

Wilkins has re-signed with the St. Louis Rams, agreeing to a four-year contract extension. The kicker, who is the club's all-time leading scorer, has converted 81.6 percent of the field goals he has attempted in his career. He's also nailed 298 consecutive extra-point tries, which ranks third-best all-time in NFL history.

Torry Holt, stl

Holt plans to use the Rams' bye this week to rest and rehab his ailing knee. The receiver, who is nursing a bruise and strained posterior cruciate ligament, has missed the team's last two games, but is expected to return to the starting lineup in Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks, barring any setbacks.

11/1/2005

Moe Williams, stl

Williams continues to be hampered by soreness in his back, so he will undergo an MRI early this week to determine the cause of the discomfort, according to Vikings head coach Mike Tice. The running back has been listed as day-to-day for the time being.

10/31/2005

Steven Jackson, stl

Topping the century mark for the first time this season, Jackson turned in the best performance of his NFL career, busting out for 179 yards on 25 carries in Sunday's victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Rams' running back also hauled in two passes for 21 yards and a touchdown. After getting off to a bit of a slow start in 2005, Jackson is averaging 121.3 yards over his last three games.

10/29/2005

Leonard Little, stl

Due to the death of his brother, the Rams, in an "organizational decision," have given Little a week off, meaning the defensive end will not play in Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

10/28/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

Bruce still has not returned to practice with the Rams, prompting the team to downgrade him from questionable to doubtful on this week's injury report. The veteran receiver, who has been sidelined since Week 3 with a nagging turf toe injury, was not expected to play this weekend anyway, especially with a bye looming next week. Fellow starter Torry Holt won't play either, meaning Kevin Curtis and Shaun McDonald will get the nod against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Kevin Curtis, stl

With both Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt not expected to play in this weekend's matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Rams will turn to Curtis and Shaun McDonald to fill the voids in the starting lineup. Curtis has been very valuable this season, hauling in 31 passes for 431 yards and three touchdowns.

Shaun McDonald, stl

McDonald will make his second consecutive start in Sunday's meeting with the Jacksonville Jaguars, as the Rams will be without their top two receivers, Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt, who are out with injuries. Kevin Curtis is slated to get the nod opposite McDonald.

10/27/2005

Tony Fisher, stl

Fisher suffered a minor eye injury last weekend and was held out of the Packers' practice on Wednesday as a precautionary measure. The running back, who officially is listed as probable on the injury report, plans to return to the field on Thursday and be ready for Sunday's meeting with the Cincinnati Bengals.

10/26/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

With a bye scheduled for next week, the Rams are expected to keep Bruce on the sidelines for at least one more game, allowing him to recover from his nagging turf toe injury. Officially, the veteran receiver is listed as questionable on the team's injury report, but don't plan on him taking the field against the Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend.

Leonard Little, stl

Due to the death of his brother, Little missed last weekend's win over the New Orleans Saints, and he's not expected to rejoin the Rams in time for this Sunday's tussle with the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, the defensive end should be back in the lineup when the Rams resume play in Week 10, following their bye.

Torry Holt, stl

Prior to the Rams' practice on Wednesday, Holt reported some improvement in his ailing knee, but he did not work out with the team and currently is listed as doubtful for Sunday's matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The receiver, who is nursing a bruise and strained posterior cruciate ligament, was unable to play last weekend and isn't expected to go this Sunday either.

Marc Bulger, stl

Recovering from a sprained AC joint in his right (throwing) shoulder, Bulger made a few tosses during the Rams' practice on Monday and reported no major problems. Despite the progress, the quarterback likely won't play in this weekend's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, especially with a bye looming in Week 9. Expect Jamie Martin to get the starting nod for the second consecutive week.

10/24/2005

Torry Holt, stl

Holt has admitted that in addition to the bruise in his knee, he's also nursing a strained posterior cruciate ligament. The Rams' receiver, who was forced to sit out Sunday's matchup with the New Orleans Saints, will continue to receive treatment on the knee in hoping to return to the field as quickly as possible. His status will be updated in the coming days.

Tony Fisher, stl

Fisher's climb up the Packers' depth chart will continue, as he now takes over the starting role going forward. The running back, who replaced Najeh Davenport as the backup earlier this month, will fill the void created when starter Ahman Green went down with a torn quadriceps tendon -- a season-ending injury. In six games this season, Fisher has 20 yards on 14 carries and 13 catches for 85 yards and a touchdown.

Steven Jackson, stl

Jackson rushed for 97 yards on 20 carries and hauled in two passes for 19 yards in Sunday's 28-17 victory over the New Orleans Saints. The Rams' running back also scored twice, giving him five touchdowns in his last four games.

10/23/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

The Rams officially ruled Bruce out of St. Louis' Week 7 home meeting with the Saints. The team's No. 2 wideout has not played since suffering a toe injury in Week 3 against the Titans.

Torry Holt, stl

The Rams downgraded Holt to questionable on Saturday with a bruised knee, and then declared him inactive on Sunday for the team's matchup with the Saints. The St. Louis wideout played through the pain last Monday in the loss to the Colts, but was limited in practice all week.

10/22/2005

Matt Willig, stl

Willig has been released by the St. Louis Rams. The offensive tackle has seen action in four games this season. To fill his roster spot, the Rams promoted quarterback Jeff Smoker from the practice squad.

10/21/2005

Marc Bulger, stl

Bulger continues to be listed as questionable on the Rams' injury report, but he won't be available for this weekend's matchup with the New Orleans Saints, according to interim head coach Joe Vitt. The quarterback, who sprained the AC joint in his right (throwing) shoulder last weekend, will be replaced in the starting lineup by Jamie Martin.

10/20/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

Bruce still has yet to resume full-speed practices with the St. Louis Rams, but after being listed as doubtful the past couple of weeks, his status has been upgraded to questionable on this week's injury report. However, his sore toe continues to give him problems, and the receiver likely won't be available for Sunday's matchup with the New Orleans Saints. In three games this season, Bruce has nine catches for 136 yards and a touchdown.

10/19/2005

Marc Bulger, stl

Bulger has been diagnosed with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder, and is likely to miss at least two weeks, the second of which is the Rams' bye week of November 6.

10/18/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

As anticipated, Bruce was again inactive for the Rams, missing Monday night's meeting with the Indianapolis Colts, due to a nagging turf toe injury. The veteran receiver, who has been absent from the lineup the last three games, did some limited individual drills at practice last week, but was unable to work out with the team. He was replaced by Kevin Curtis.

Torry Holt, stl

Holt reported last week that his bruised knee was only about 60 percent, but despite the injury, the receiver was in the Rams' starting lineup for Monday night's matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. He finished the contest with six catches for 70 yards and failed to find the end zone for the first time in five games.

Marc Bulger, stl

Bulger sprained his right shoulder early in the second quarter on Monday night and was forced to miss the rest of the game. He hurt the throwing shoulder while trying to make a tackle after he was intercepted, and was later diagnosed with a sprained AC joint. Before leaving the game, the Rams' quarterback was 6-for-8 with 121 yards, one touchdown and an interception.

10/14/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

It is likely that Bruce will be forced to miss his third consecutive game, as he continues to be hobbled by a nagging turf toe injury. The veteran receiver did some limited individual work on the side Thursday, but was unable to take part in any team activities with the Rams. Officially, he is listed as doubtful for Monday night's battle with the Indianapolis Colts.

Moe Williams, stl

Williams remained limited in practice on Thursday, as he continues to work his way back from a sore knee. The running back currently is listed as questionable on the injury report, but the Vikings expect him to be available for Sunday's matchup with the Chicago Bears, barring any setbacks.

Torry Holt, stl

After suffering a bruised knee in Sunday's loss to Seattle, Holt sat out the Rams' practice on Friday as a precautionary measure. Although listed as questionable reports suggest that the All-Pro wide receiver will be ready to play this Sunday against the Colts.

10/13/2005

Michael Hawthorne, stl

After losing his starting job in last week's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Hawthorne now is looking for a new team, as he was released by the St. Louis Rams on Thursday. The safety, who signed a free-agent contract with the Rams in April after spending the last two seasons in Green Bay, has 25 tackles and an interception in five games this year.

10/11/2005

Moe Williams, stl

Williams used the Vikings' bye week to rest a sore knee, and barring any setbacks, he will be available for Sunday's meeting with the Chicago Bears, according to head coach Mike Tice. The injury forced the running back to miss the team's Week 4 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Torry Holt, stl

As a precautionary measure, Holt might be limited in practice this week, due to a bruised knee. The Rams' receiver underwent a precautionary MRI on Monday, which revealed no structural damage, and he's been listed as day-to-day. Despite the injury, Holt recorded eight catches for 126 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He plans to be ready for Monday night's meeting with the Indianapolis Colts.

10/10/2005

Torry Holt, stl

Holt scored a touchdown for his fourth consecutive game in Sunday's 37-31 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The receiver stepped up in the absence of veteran Isaac Bruce and finished with eight catches for 126 yards and a score.

Marc Bulger, stl

For the second consecutive week, the Rams were forced to go to the air in a comeback attempt, but again, their efforts came up just short in Sunday's 37-31 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. After throwing for 442 yards last week, Bulger went 26 of 40 for 336 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's contest, notching his third game with 300 or more yards this season.

Tony Fisher, stl

With Najeh Davenport expected to miss the rest of the season after breaking his ankle in Sunday's victory over the New Orleans Saints, Fisher will move up a spot on the Packers' depth chart and serve as Ahman Green's primary backup going forward. In five games this season, the running back rushed just nine times for 18 yards and hauled in 11 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Steven Jackson, stl

Jackson finished Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks with a season-high 139 total yards. On the ground, the Rams' running back rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. He also served as one of Marc Bulger's most frequent targets, adding six catches for 62 yards.

10/7/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

Bruce is not expected to be available for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks, due to the turf toe injury that has kept him sidelined for nearly two weeks. The veteran receiver will be replaced in the starting lineup by Kevin Curtis, with Shaun McDonald seeing an increased role as well.

10/5/2005

Cam Cleeland, stl

Cleeland is expected to practice with the St. Louis Rams on Wednesday after signing with the team a day earlier. The veteran tight end fills the roster spot of Roland Williams, who will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign with a dislocated knee. In 16 games with the Rams last season, Cleeland had seven catches for 57 yards.

10/4/2005

Larry Turner, stl

Turner has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, supplying the team with some much-needed depth on the offensive line. In Sunday's win over the Houston Texans, the team lost backup center Larry Moore for the season to a dislocated knee, and regular starter Rich Braham sprained his knee and is listed as questionable this week. Turner takes Moore's spot on the roster.

10/3/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

After missing practice all of last week with a nagging turf toe injury, Bruce was unavailable for Sunday's matchup with the New York Giants, and reportedly, he could miss at least another couple of games. The veteran receiver was replaced in the Rams' lineup by Kevin Curtis and continues to be listed as day-to-day.

Roland Williams, stl

Williams dislocated his right knee in the first quarter against the New York Giants on Sunday and will miss the remainder of the season. The injury occurred on a two-yard reception in which he was tackled low by Giants cornerback Curtis Deloatch. Williams had recorded three receptions for 21 yards in four games this year.

Marc Bulger, stl

Trying to get the Rams back in the game, Bulger attempted a career-high 62 passes in Sunday's 44-24 loss to the New York Giants. The quarterback completed 40 of those tosses for 442 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw three interceptions. The yardage total actually was the fourth-highest in Bulger's career.

Shaun McDonald, stl

McDonald took advantage of veteran Isaac Bruce's absence to turn in the best performance of his three-year NFL career. Serving as the Rams' No. 3 receiver, the former fourth-round pick hauled in nine passes for 121 yards -- both career highs.

Steven Jackson, stl

Jackson shook off the bruised chest that limited his work in practice last week and was in the St. Louis Rams' starting lineup on Sunday, as anticipated. After falling behind early in the game, the Rams were forced to go to the air, and the running back finished with just 10 carries for 17 yards on the day. He added five catches for 42 yards and a touchdown as well.

10/2/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

With Bruce missing practice on Friday, the Rams have deemed him doubtful for Sunday's game against the Giants. Bruce is suffering from turf toe, and seems likely to sit out the game. Kevin Curtis will start in his place should he not play.

Moe Williams, stl

Vikings running back Moe Williams will be inactive for this week's game against the Falcons. Williams was listed as questionable on the team's injury report with a sore knee. Mewelde Moore will be the starting running back, while Michael Bennett or Ciatrick Fason will take over as the third-down back.

9/30/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

Bruce missed his third consecutive day of practice Friday, and is doubtful for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Moe Williams, stl

Williams was hoping to work out with the Vikings late this week, but after missing practice both Thursday and Friday, he has been downgraded from probable to questionable on the team's injury report for Sunday's meeting with the Atlanta Falcons. The reserve running back is nursing a sore knee, and he reportedly will be a game-time decision this weekend.

Will Witherspoon, stl

After getting a second opinion on his ailing right knee, Witherspoon was cleared to return to practice with the Carolina Panthers on Thursday. The linebacker, who missed last week's matchup with the Miami Dolphins, reported no major problems following the workout and seemed optimistic that he would be ready for this weekend's action. Officially, he is listed as questionable.

Kevin Curtis, stl

It appears more and more that Isaac Bruce will not be in uniform this Sunday, as he battles a turf toe injury. That will open the door for Curtis to make the start against the New York Giants this Sunday.

Steven Jackson, stl

Although he didn't take part in the entire workout, Jackson was back on the practice field with the St. Louis Rams on Thursday after missing some time earlier in the week to rest his bruised chest. The running back remains listed as questionable on the team's injury report, but he is expected to be ready for Sunday's matchup with the New York Giants, according to head coach Mike Martz.

9/29/2005

Moe Williams, stl

Williams is battling some minor soreness in his right knee, so the Vikings decided to hold him out of practice on Wednesday as a precautionary measure. The running back is slated to work out with the team over the next couple of days and be ready for Sunday's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. Officially, he is listed as probable.

Steven Jackson, stl

Jackson has been unable to practice with the St. Louis Rams this week, due to the bruised chest he sustained in last weekend's meeting with the Tennessee Titans. The running back currently is listed as questionable on the team's injury report and a final decision on his availability might not come until just prior to Sunday's battle with the New York Giants. He has 201 yards and a touchdown on 49 carries in three games this season.

Richie Incognito, stl

Incognito has signed with the St. Louis Rams, agreeing to a four-year contract. The offensive lineman, who was a third-round pick in this year's draft, isn't quite ready to contribute, as he continues to recover from surgery to repair a problem with his kneecap.

9/28/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

At this point, it does not appear that Bruce will be ready for Sunday's meeting with the New York Giants, due to the turf toe injury he suffered last weekend. The Rams' veteran receiver has yet to practice with the team this week, and he's been listed as doubtful on the injury report.

9/26/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

Bruce suffered a turf toe injury in the second quarter on Sunday and was unable to return to the game. While he is optimistic that he'll be ready for Week 4, these types of injuries usually tend to linger, so stay tuned for updates on his progress. Before leaving the game, Bruce had one catch for 11 yards.

Torry Holt, stl

Holt didn't have a catch in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans, but his final stat line was impressive nonetheless. The Rams' receiver hauled in nine passes for a season-high 163 yards, including a 32-yard touchdown grab.

Marc Bulger, stl

Bulger posted a 128.9 passer rating in Sunday's 31-27 victory over the Tennessee Titans, going 21 of 28 for 292 yards and three touchdowns. Despite the impressive totals, the Rams' quarterback struggled at times, throwing an interception, taking four sacks and fumbling three times, losing two.

Steven Jackson, stl

Jackson suffered a bruised chest Sunday against the Titans and missed most of the third quarter due to the injury. X-rays showed no broken bones and he was able to return to the game. He finished the game with 12 rushes for 42 yards.

9/20/2005

Fakhir Brown, stl

Brown was unable to take the field with the Saints in Monday night's meeting with the New York Giants, due to swelling and soreness in his knee. The cornerback, who suffered the injury in a collision during a workout on Saturday, was replaced in the starting lineup by Jason Craft.

9/19/2005

Dwaine Carpenter, stl

Carpenter has been waived by the San Francisco 49ers, opening a spot on the roster for veteran offensive lineman Anthony Clement, who inked with the team on Monday. The reserve defensive back accounted for one tackle through the first two games of the 2005 campaign.

Remy Hamilton, stl

Hamilton has been released by the Detroit Lions after missing his only point-after attempt in Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears. With a bye in Week 3, the Lions expect regular kicker Jason Hanson to be back in time for their next game, making the fill-in Hamilton expendable. Guard David Loverne was signed to fill the void on the roster.

9/18/2005

Kevin Curtis, stl

Curtis is expected to play for St. Louis Sunday, despite an ankle injury that bothered him this week. The wide receiver had a solid Week 1 in San Francisco, catching seven passes for 63 yards for the Rams.

Remy Hamilton, stl

The Detroit Lions activated kicker Remy Hamilton and placed Jason Hanson on the inactive list before Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. Hamilton was signed to the practice squad on Friday, as insurance against Hanson's hamstring injury. He was cut last month by the St. Louis Rams.

9/13/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

After banging his right (throwing) hand on a helmet early in Sunday's victory over the Denver Broncos, Frerotte underwent a precautionary X-rays on Monday, and all test results came back negative. The Dolphins' starting quarterback has been diagnosed with a bruised index finger, and he plans to be ready for the team's Week 2 meeting with the New York Jets.

9/12/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

Despite an unimpressive preseason, Frerotte was under center for the Dolphins as they took the field in Sunday's season opener against the Denver Broncos. The veteran quarterback looked solid, completing 24 of his 36 pass attempts for 275 yards and two touchdowns. He tossed one interception and avoided being sacked in the 34-10 victory.

Torry Holt, stl

Holt hauled in 10 passes for 125 yards, but failed to fined the end zone in Sunday's season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The Rams' receiver has topped 100 yards receiving in four of his last six regular-season games dating back to the 2004 campaign.

Marc Bulger, stl

Bulger was busy trying to get the Rams back into Sunday's season opener against the San Francisco 49ers, but his efforts were not enough, as St. Louis lost the game, 28-25. The veteran quarterback threw 56 passes on the day, completing 34 for 362 yards and two touchdowns. He was sacked seven times and picked off once.

9/10/2005

Matt Turk, stl

The Miami Dolphins placed Turk on injured reserve with a groin injury Saturday, ending the punter's 2005 season before it even began. To take Turk's spot, the Dolphins elevated fellow punter Donnie Jones from its practice squad.

9/3/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Saturday that Dolphins head coach Nick Saban has named Frerotte as the starting quarterback for the season opener against the Denver Broncos.

8/31/2005

Terry Fair, stl

Fair was back with the St. Louis Rams Tuesday afternoon, shortly after being released from the hospital. The veteran cornerback was held overnight for observation after suffering a sprained neck in the team's Monday night preseason matchup with the Detroit Lions. According to head coach Mike Martz, Fair will take a few days off, but he should be available for the start of the regular season, barring any setbacks.

Jerametrius Butler, stl

The St. Louis Rams have placed Butler on injured reserve. The cornerback suffered a torn posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on the first day of training camp and decided to undergo surgery. He will miss the entire 2005 season.

8/30/2005

Terry Fair, stl

Fair was placed on a stretcher, carted off the field and taken to a hospital after spraining his neck when his head hit running back Kevin Jones' thigh on a tackle in Monday's preseason meeting with the Detroit Lions. All tests were negative, and the veteran cornerback likely will be released from the hospital on Tuesday. For now, he has been listed as day-to-day.

8/29/2005

Matt Turk, stl

Turk underwent a precautionary MRI after slightly pulling his right groin while warming up for last weekend's preseason game. The Dolphins will limit the punter's work this week and plan to hold him out of Thursday's exhibition finale against the Atlanta Falcons. He should be ready for Week 1 of the regular season.

8/27/2005

Adam Timmerman, stl

After missing the first two preseason games while nursing a foot injury, Rams offensive lineman Adam Timmerman is expected to return to his starting position this Monday against the Lions.

8/17/2005

Jerametrius Butler, stl

After getting a second opinion from a specialist in New York, Butler has decided to undergo surgery to repair the torn posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The Rams' cornerback, who suffered the injury on the first day of training camp, is expected to require about four months of recovery time. As a result, he'll likely miss the entire 2005 campaign, according to head coach Mike Martz.

8/15/2005

Gus Frerotte, stl

Although nothing is official at this point, it appears Frerotte has the lead in the competition for the Dolphins' starting quarterback job this season. The veteran signal caller hasn't posted mind-blowing stat lines in the team's first two exhibition contests, but he's done enough to outplay A.J. Feeley, who started the majority of the 2004 campaign.

8/12/2005

Jerametrius Butler, stl

Tests on Butler's ailing right knee have revealed a torn posterior cruciate ligament. The Rams' starting cornerback can either try to rehab the knee and try to play through the injury, or he could undergo season-ending surgery. According to head coach Mike Martz, Butler is leaning toward fighting through it.

8/11/2005

Alex Barron, stl

After missing the first two weeks of training camp, Barron finally has signed with the St. Louis Rams, agreeing to a five-year contract. The offensive lineman, who was a finalist for the Outland Trophy following his senior season at Florida State, was the 19th overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.

8/7/2005

Todd Steussie, stl

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed Steussie, roughly seven weeks after releasing him to make salary cap room. In his first year with the Buccaneers in 2004, the 35-year-old veteran lost his starting job at right tackle to Kenyatta Walker.

8/6/2005

Matt Willig, stl

Willig signed a one-year contract with the St. Louis Rams on Saturday. The offensive lineman, who spent the last two seasons with Carolina, won a Super Bowl with the Rams in 1999.

7/31/2005

Jerametrius Butler, stl

Butler was missing from Rams' practice sessions on Thursday due to a bruise on his right knee. He is expected to miss a week with the ailment.

7/28/2005

Tercero has been released by the St. Louis Rams. The offensive lineman started four games last season, but missed the rest of the campaign with a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

7/26/2005

Tom Nutten, stl

The Rams re-signed Nutten to a one-year deal on Tuesday, and the guard will return for his eighth season in the NFL. Monetary terms of the contract were not disclosed. St. Louis coaxed Nutten out of retirement prior to the start of the 2004 campaign to help along an offensive line decimated by injuries. He ended up seeing action in eight games, making six starts. For his career, the former seventh-round pick has played in 69 games (63 starts).

7/23/2005

Jerome Collins, stl

Collins signed a three-year deal with the St. Louis Rams on Friday. The rookie reportedly will receive minimum salaries of $230,000 in 2005, $310,000 in 2006 and $385,000 in 2007.

6/22/2005

Todd Steussie, stl

Steussie has been excused from the Buccaneers' three-day mandatory minicamp that began on Tuesday. The veteran tackle likely will be released in the coming weeks in a move to create more room for Tampa Bay under the salary camp, and the team does not want to risk an injury during camp. Steussie has missed just one game in his 11-year NFL career, but he made just five starts last season for the Bucs after losing his job to Kenyatta Walker.

6/10/2005

Fakhir Brown, stl

After failing to report to any of the team's voluntary offseason programs due to unhappiness with his current contract, Brown was present on Friday for the first day of the Saints' mandatory two-day camp. The cornerback still has one-year remaining on his existing deal. Brown saw action in all 16 games for New Orleans last season, starting the team's final 10 contests. He set career highs in most major defensive categories, including tackles (53) and interceptions (2).

6/9/2005

Jay Williams, stl

The Rams released Williams on Thursday, less than two and a half months after the team signed the defensive end to a three-year, $2.65 million contract. The Dolphins had let Williams go in late February with one year remaining on his deal with Miami, and St. Louis picked him up at the end of March. The 10-year NFL veteran spent the first five seasons of his career with the Rams before making stops at Carolina and Miami. He has not missed a game since the 1996 campaign.

6/8/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

Bruce did not take part in the Rams' mini-camp last weekend after heart tests revealed a slight abnormality. After further evaluation, the veteran receiver has been cleared to resume full workouts. The ailment never was considered serious, and the move to keep him out temporarily was precautionary.

6/3/2005

Isaac Bruce, stl

As a precautionary measure, Bruce is not expected to participate in the remainder of the Rams' mini-camp this weekend after heart tests revealed a slight abnormality. The receiver will be evaluated further over the next several days to determine the extent of the ailment. At this point, neither Bruce nor the Rams believe it is anything serious.

5/4/2005

Will Witherspoon, stl

Witherspoon has re-signed with the Carolina Panthers, agreeing to a one-year, $1.43 million contract. The linebacker, who had been a restricted free agent, has started every one of the Panthers' games over the past two seasons. He finished the 2004 campaign with 103 tackles, four interceptions and three sacks -- all career highs.

5/2/2005

Richie Incognito, stl

Incognito, who was a third-round pick in this year's NFL Draft, underwent surgery to repair a problem with his kneecap last week. According to St. Louis Rams head coach Mike Martz, the rookie offensive lineman will need up to six months of recovery time before he will be ready to take the field.

4/28/2005

Terry Fair, stl

Fair, a former first-round pick who has battled injuries and not played in the NFL since 2002, signed a one-year contract Thursday with the St. Louis Rams. The cornerback has played in 52 career games, recording 235 tackles and seven interceptions. He has battled leg injuries for most of his career and last played for Carolina in 2002.

4/26/2005

Adam Haayer, stl

Haayer has signed with the Arizona Cardinals, supplying the team with some depth on the offensive line. The tackle spent last season with the Minnesota Vikings, playing in four games, including one start.
