Oakland Raiders

8/13/2006

Randy Moss, oak

Moss is expected to make his return to the Metrodome Monday for the Oakland Raiders preseason game against his former team. The Minnesota Vikings traded the All-Pro wide receiver and 1998 NLF draft pick to Oakland before last season. "It's going to be something special," Moss said of his return. "Hopefully, the Metrodome will sell out because I'm coming back, but I'm a Raider now."

7/26/2006

Michael Huff, oak

Huff signed a $22.5 million, five-year contract with the Raiders on Tuesday that guarantees the safety $15 million. The seventh overall pick in this year's draft agreed to the parameters of the deal Monday night, but didn't sign it until minutes before Tuesday's afternoon practice on the Raiders' first day of training camp. "He's a very athletic guy, a very smart guy, you can give him a couple of different things and he picks them up very well," coach Art Shell said.

7/25/2006

Robert Gallery, oak

Gallery's move back to left tackle was temporarily put on hold Monday when the Raiders placed the third-year offensive lineman on the physically unable to perform list. Gallery, the No. 2 overall pick in 2004, injured a quad muscle working out last week. Though the injury is not thought to be serious, team trainers and coach Art Shell opted to take a cautious approach.

4/14/2006

Lance Johnstone, oak

Johnstone rejoined Oakland on Thursday, signing a contract with the Raiders after spending the last five seasons with Minnesota. The defensive end led the Vikings with 7 1/2 sacks last season despite playing only 12 games.

3/23/2006

Aaron Brooks, oak

Brooks lands in Oakland. His stay ended in New Orleans when the Saints signed free-agent quarterback Drew Brees. Brooks will likely start for the Raiders, who have released Kerry Collins. Brooks signed a two-year deal worth $8 million, including a $1.5 million bonus, with Oakland.

3/10/2006

Kerry Collins, oak

The Oakland Raiders released Kerry Collins on Friday, ending the quarterback's two-year stint with the team and saving $9.2 million against the salary cap. The decision was delayed five days after the NFL and its union postponed the start of free agency.

3/1/2006

Rod Smart, oak

Smart was released by the Panthers in an effort to get the team under the salary cap for the upcoming season. The running back/kick returner's release clears around $700,000 off the salary cap. The five-year veteran joined running back Stephen Davis and defensive tackle Brenston Buckner in getting released by the Panthers.

2/26/2006

Duane Starks, oak

The New England Patriots released veteran cornerback Starks on Saturday after just one season with the team. The 31-year-old cornerback spent most of 2005 on injury reserve because of a shoulder injury.

12/28/2005

Courtney Anderson, oak

Sidelined for nearly two weeks with a strained ligament in his knee, Anderson was unable to practice with the Oakland Raiders again on Wednesday. It is looking like the tight end will be forced to miss Sunday's season finale against the New York Giants. Officially, he has been listed as doubtful.

12/27/2005

LaMont Jordan, oak

Barring a miraculous recovery over the next couple of days, Jordan will not play in Saturday's 2005 finale against the New York Giants. The Raiders' starting tailback has been sidelined since suffering a turf toe injury in a loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 15. With Jordan out, Zack Crockett will start at running back, with Justin Fargas also likely to see some time in the backfield.

12/24/2005

LaMont Jordan, oak

Jordan has been ruled out of Saturday's game against the Denver Broncos because of turf toe. The running back injured the big toe on his right foot during last week's loss to the Cleveland Browns, but remained in the contest and ended up running for a career-high 132 yards. A MRI earlier this week revelaed the turf toe injury and Jordan had his foot placed in a walking boot. He did not practice at all this week.

12/22/2005

Zack Crockett, oak

Crockett is slated to get more touches in Saturday's meeting with the Denver Broncos, filling in for injured starter LaMont Jordan, who is expected to miss the contest with turf toe. Normally a fullback, Crockett will split playing time with Justin Fargas.

12/21/2005

LaMont Jordan, oak

Jordan did not practice with the Oakland Raiders on Tuesday after an MRI revealed that he has a jammed big toe on his right foot. The running back suffered the injury early in last Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns before re-aggravating the problem in the third quarter. At this point, he is considered as doubtful for this weekend's tilt with division-rival Denver Broncos.

Courtney Anderson, oak

An MRI has revealed that Anderson has a strained ligament in his knee, an injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns. The tight end was unable to practice with the Raiders on Tuesday, and he's currently listed as doubtful for this weekend's matchup with the Denver Broncos. In 14 games this season, he has 24 catches for 303 yards and three touchdowns.

12/20/2005

Kerry Collins, oak

After temporarily losing his starting job to backup Marques Tuiasosopo in Week 14, Collins was back under center for the Raiders' matchup with the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The veteran struggled in the contest, posting a 56.5 passer rating, his second-worst total of the 2005 campaign. He finished 14 of 30 for 132 yards, one touchdown and an interception.

LaMont Jordan, oak

Despite suffering a turf toe injury in Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns, Jordan was able to remain in the Raiders' lineup and finished with 132 yards on 25 carries, along with five catches for 40 yards. He was scheduled to undergo a precautionary MRI to rule out any significant damage.

12/15/2005

Andrew Walter, oak

With both Kerry Collins and Marques Tuiasosopo struggling, some Raiders fans have called for Walter to get a chance at the starting job. However, the rookie quarterback, who was a third-round pick in this year's draft, probably won't see any game action this season, as he's been slowed since training camp by a sports hernia. He's scheduled to undergo surgery after the season.

12/14/2005

Kerry Collins, oak

The Oakland Raiders gave Marques Tuiasosopo a chance to start in last week's loss to the New York Jets, but after struggling in the role, he will return to the bench this week. According to head coach Norv Turner, Collins will reclaim the top job and get the nod in Sunday's meeting with the Cleveland Browns, as he gives the team the best chance to win.

Aaron Brooks, oak

Primarily due to his inconsistency this season, Brooks has been benched by the New Orleans Saints, as the team has decided to give backup Todd Bouman the starting nod in Sunday's matchup with the Carolina Panthers. Brooks has completed just 55.7 percent of his pass attempts in 13 games on the year, recording 13 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He's also scored twice on the ground, but been sacked 33 times.

Marques Tuiasosopo, oak

Making just the second start of his NFL career, Tuiasosopo struggled in last weekend's loss to the New York Jets, going 14 of 26 for 124 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He was sacked six times and lost two fumbles. As a result, the Raiders have decided to make another switch, handing the starting job back to veteran Kerry Collins. According to head coach Norv Turner, Collins gives the team the best chance to win in Sunday's meeting with the Cleveland Browns.

12/12/2005

Marques Tuiasosopo, oak

It was fairly obvious that Tuiasosopo was making just his second career start in Sunday's matchup with the New York Jets. The Raiders' quarterback, who got the nod over ineffective veteran Kerry Collins, finished the game 14 of 26 for 124 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He was sacked six times and lost two fumbles.

12/8/2005

Kerry Collins, oak

As had been rumored earlier in the week, Collins has lost his job as the Raiders' starting quarterback, at least for this Sunday's matchup with the New York Jets. Leading the team to just one win in the last five games, the veteran signal caller has been benched by head coach Norv Turner in favor of backup Maques Tuiasosopo. In 12 games, Collins has completed 54.9 percent of his passes for 16 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and 259.8 yards per contest.

Marques Tuiasosopo, oak

According to Raiders head coach Norv Turner, Tuiasosopo will be under center when the team takes the field against the New York Jets on Sunday, replacing the struggling Kerry Collins, who has led Oakland to just one win in the last five games. A second-round pick in 2001, Tuiasosopo has not appeared in a regular-season game since the 2003 campaign. For his career, he is 28 of 49 for 358 yards, three interceptions and no touchdowns.

12/5/2005

Kerry Collins, oak

Collins has led the Raiders to just one win in the last five games, and his struggles could have cost him his starting job. According to head coach Norv Turner, the team is seriously considering giving backup Marques Tuiasosopo the nod in next Sunday's matchup with the New York Jets. A decision is expected to be made prior to Wednesday's practice.

Aaron Brooks, oak

After posting a season-best 136.1 passer rating in last week's win over the New York Jets, Brooks looked like a totally different player in Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Saints' quarterback finished the day 18 of 34 for 215 yards and tied a career-high with four interceptions. He failed to throw a touchdown pass.

Marques Tuiasosopo, oak

According to Raiders head coach Norv Turner, the team is considering giving Tuiasosopo the nod in Sunday's matchup with the Jets in New York, primarily due to the continued struggles of starter Kerry Collins. Turner plans to make a final decision prior to practice on Wednesday. Tuiasosopo, a second-round pick in 2001, has appeared in eight games in his career, but hasn't taken the field during the regular season since 2003.

12/3/2005

Langston Walker, oak

The Raiders placed Walker on injured reserve Friday. The offensive lineman underwent emergency abdominal surgery on Oct. 25 for a hemorrhage and has been sidelined ever since.

Anttaj Hawthorne, oak

The Raiders promoted Hawthorne from the practice squad on Friday. He takes the roster spot of Langston Walker, who was placed on injured reserve.

12/2/2005

ReShard Lee, oak

Lee has been placed on injured reserve by the Green Bay Packers, officially bringing his 2005 campaign to an end. The running back, who is nursing a rib injury, appeared in seven games this season, but picked up just 16 yards on 11 carries. He will be replaced on the roster by rookie Noah Herron.

11/29/2005

Warren Sapp, oak

Sapp is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday to repair the tear in his right rotator cuff. The Raiders' veteran defensive tackle, who suffered the shoulder injury in a Week 11 victory over the Washington Redskins, was placed on injured reserve and will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign.

Reggie Tongue, oak

Tests have revealed that Tongue has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, an injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins. The Raiders' safety, who is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday, will be placed on injured reserve in the coming days, officially ending his 2005 season.

11/28/2005

Aaron Brooks, oak

Brooks notched a season-best 136.1 passer rating in Sunday's meeting with the New York Jets, leading the Saints to a 21-19 victory. The quarterback completed 17 of his 23 attempts for just 181 yards, but connected for three touchdowns and did not have an interception. He has six TDs over his last three games after tossing six in his first eight contests combined.

LaMont Jordan, oak

After failing to record a rushing touchdown in his previous four games, Jordan found the end zone twice in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins, finishing with 97 yards and a pair of TDs on 23 carries. The Raiders' running back was also involved in the passing game, notching seven catches for 47 yards.

11/27/2005

Warren Sapp, oak

Sapp's season came to an end Saturday when the Oakland Raiders placed him on injured reserve. The defensive end had been listed as doubtful during the week with a shoulder injury, and now he is out for the year with a torn rotator cuff. Sapp appeared in 10 games for the Raiders, taking part in 32 tackles and recording one interception.

11/26/2005

Randy Moss, oak

Although he sat out part of Oakland's Friday practice as a precaution, it looks like Moss is close to 100 percent healthy.

11/22/2005

Doug Gabriel, oak

Gabriel is scheduled to undergo precautionary tests early this week to determine the extent of the ankle injury he suffered in Sunday's win over the Washington Redskins. At this point, the ailment is considered only a sprain, and the Raiders are optimistic that the receiver will not miss much time. His status will be updated in the coming days.

11/21/2005

Aaron Brooks, oak

Attempting to get the Saints back in the game, Brooks finished Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots with a season-high 50 pass attempts. The quarterback completed 27 for 343 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 30 yards on three carries. With the performance, Brooks now has 116 career touchdown passes, breaking the club record formerly held by Archie Manning.

Jerry Porter, oak

Porter had one of his best games of the 2005 campaign, hauling in six passes for a season-high 142 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 16-13 victory over the Washington Redskins. The Raiders' receiver has four TDs this season, all coming over his last four games.

11/17/2005

Randy Moss, oak

After being listed as questionable on the Raiders' injury report the past few weeks, Moss was upgraded to probable on the most recent list. Although the receiver did not practice with the team on Wednesday, he should get close to his regular reps in Sunday's matchup with the Washington Redskins. Moss has been limited since suffering bruised ribs, a strained groin and a bruised pelvis on a hard fall in a game against the San Diego Chargers in Week 6.

11/14/2005

Kerry Collins, oak

Collins completed 26 of his season-high 50 pass attempts for 310 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Denver Broncos, but he was picked off three times and sacked four times. Going into the contest, the Raiders' veteran quarterback had thrown just three interceptions in his previous eight games.

11/10/2005

Randy Moss, oak

According to Raiders head coach Norv Turner, Moss continues to be bothered by soreness caused by bruised ribs, a strained groin and a bruised pelvis. The veteran receiver is expected to be in the lineup for Sunday's meeting against the Denver Broncos, but his playing time might be slightly limited again, as a precautionary measure. Officially, he is listed as questionable on this week's injury report.

Duane Starks, oak

Starks 2005 campaign officially has come to an end, as he has been placed on injured reserve by the New England Patriots. The veteran cornerback, who is nursing a shoulder ailment, finishes the season with 28 tackles in seven games. Randall Gay is expected to fill the void in the lineup going forward.

11/7/2005

Randy Moss, oak

Moss saw regular playing time in Sunday's matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, despite being less than 100 percent because of bruised ribs, a strained groin and a bruised pelvis. However, the Raiders' receiver failed to record a catch -- a seven-yard touchdown reception -- until there were less than two minutes left in the game. He was targeted eight times by quarterback Kerry Collins.

11/6/2005

Randy Moss, oak

Moss, who has been hampered by bruised ribs, strained groin and bruised pelvis since a hard fall on October 16, is active and will be in the Raiders' lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. He is expected to start opposite Jerry Porter, with Doug Gabriel serving as the No. 3 wideout.

11/4/2005

Randy Moss, oak

Moss did not return to practice with the Raiders on Thursday as head coach Norv Turner had hoped, and he remains listed as questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs. Reportedly, the receiver has shown improvement, but the team is being very cautious with him in hopes of avoid further aggravation of his laundry list of injuries. Moss has been hampered by bruised ribs, strained groin and bruised pelvis since a hard fall on October 16.

11/3/2005

Randy Moss, oak

Giving him some time to recover from his groin, rib, pelvis and head ailments, the Raiders kept Moss on the sidelined for Wednesday's practice. According to head coach Norv Turner, the move is considered precautionary, and the team expects the receiver to return to the field on Thursday.

10/31/2005

Kerry Collins, oak

Despite being without the services of a banged-up Randy Moss for much of the second half, Collins posted some solid numbers in Sunday's victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Raiders' quarterback completed 17 of his 29 pass attempts for 238 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Going into the game, he had found the end zone just once in his previous three contests combined.

Randy Moss, oak

Moss was able to play through his rib and groin injuries in Sunday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans, but after taking a shot to the head, he did not see much time in the second half. The Raiders' receiver likely will be limited in practice over the next several days, and his status will be updated later this week. For now, he is considered day-to-day.

Jerry Porter, oak

Porter had his best game this year and one of the best of his career on Sunday, catching six passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns. With Randy Moss hobbled and used mainly as a decoy, Porter took advantage and beat up the Titans' pass defense. In seven games this season, he has 31 receptions for 426 yards and two TDs.

10/30/2005

Randy Moss, oak

Despite soreness in his groin and ribcage, Moss is listed as active for Oakland's Sunday game with the Titans. With Moss still hampered by the injuries, his snaps may be somewhat limited.

10/28/2005

Derrick Gibson, oak

Gibson has been placed on injured reserve by the Oakland Raiders, officially ending his 2005 campaign. The safety underwent surgery to insert stabilizing pins into his dislocated left wrist earlier this week and is expected to require 6-8 weeks of recovery time. Linebacker Isaiah Ekejiuba was signed to fill the void on the 53-man roster.

10/27/2005

Tyrone Poole, oak

Sidelined since injuring his ankle in New England's regular-season opener against the Oakland Raiders, Poole has been placed on injured reserve by the Patriots, officially bringing his 2005 campaign to an end. The cornerback has appeared in just six games over the past two seasons combined, notching 15 tackles and one interception.

Randy Moss, oak

Moss continues to battle soreness in his groin and ribs, but he should be available for Sunday's matchup with the Tennessee Titans. However, according to Raiders head coach Norv Turner, the veteran receiver is nowhere near 100 percent, and his action likely will be limited, as it was last week. Officially, he has been listed as questionable.

Langston Walker, oak

After complaining of abdominal pain on Tuesday, Walker was sent to a doctor for evaluation to determine the cause of the discomfort. A hemorrhage was discovered in his stomach, and the Raiders' starting left guard was forced to emergency surgery later in the day. According to head coach Norv Turner, Walker will be sidelined at least six weeks, but the absence could be considerably longer.

10/25/2005

Derrick Gibson, oak

Gibson underwent surgery to insert stabilizing pins into his dislocated left wrist, and the Raiders expect him to be sidelined for the next 6-8 weeks, according to head coach Norv Turner. If the safety recovers on schedule, the team is optimistic that he will be available for a December 18 meeting with the Cleveland Browns.

Jake Grove, oak

Grove said he plans to return to the Raiders' lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Tennessee Titans. The second-year center, who has been sidelined for nearly a month after undergoing surgery to repair cartilage damage in his right knee, reported no problem after testing out the leg prior to last weekend's victory over the Buffalo Bills.

ReShard Lee, oak

With Ahman Green and Najeh Davenport both lost for the season with injuries, the Packers now will turn to Tony Fisher and Lee to fill the void in the backfield. Fisher is slated to step into the starting lineup, while Lee will serve as the primary backup going forward. In two games this season, Lee has just seven yards on seven carries.

10/24/2005

Randy Moss, oak

Moss was able to play in Sunday's victory over the Buffalo Bills, but his action was limited as a precautionary measure, and he finished with three catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. The Raiders' receiver had been listed as doubtful going into the game, due to bruised ribs, a strained groin and bruised pelvic area, injuries suffered during last weekend's action.

Derrick Gibson, oak

Gibson suffered a dislocated wrist in Sunday's victory over the Buffalo Bills, and he will be sidelined indefinitely, according to Raiders head coach Norv Turner. The starting safety will undergo more tests on Monday to determine if surgery is necessary. In six games this season, Gibson has 35 tackles and one sack.

LaMont Jordan, oak

Jordan had the biggest day of his five-year career on Sunday rushing for 122 yards, catching four passes for 40 yards and scoring a career-high three touchdowns in Oakland's win over Buffalo. In his first year as a starter, the Raiders' running back has put up excellent numbers. Through six games, he has 432 rushing yards, 245 receiving yards and eight total touchdowns.

Doug Gabriel, oak

As anticipated, Gabriel saw more reps in Sunday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills, due to regular starter Randy Moss being limited by a trio of injuries. The receiver took advantage of the added playing time, hauling in five passes for a career-high 101 yards.

10/23/2005

Randy Moss, oak

Despite being unable to practice with the Raiders during the week, Moss will be active and in the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Buffalo Bills. The receiver had been limited to light running over the previous few days, due to bruised ribs, strained groin and bruised pelvic area, injuries suffered during last weekend's action.

10/21/2005

Randy Moss, oak

Moss has been able to jog lightly during the Raiders' practices the past couple of days, but he has yet to resume participation in team drills. According to head coach Norv Turner, the receiver, who is nursing bruised ribs, strained groin and bruised pelvic area, continues to show improvement. Despite the progress, he is listed as doubtful for Sunday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills and likely won't play.

10/20/2005

DeLawrence Grant, oak

Grant continues to be hobbled by a sprained ankle, and he was unable to practice with the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday. The linebacker has been listed as doubtful for Sunday's battle with the Buffalo Bills.

Doug Gabriel, oak

With Randy Moss unlikely to play in Sunday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills, Gabriel will step into the Raiders' starting lineup opposite Jerry Porter. Serving as the team's No. 3 receiver since Ronald Curry went down early in the season, Gabriel has hauled in seven passes for 119 yards and one touchdown in three games.

10/19/2005

Randy Moss, oak

Moss has been listed as doubtful for this week's game against the Buffalo Bills, suffering from groin and rib injuries.

10/18/2005

Randy Moss, oak

According to Raiders head coach Norv Turner, Moss was still very sore on Monday, and his availability for next weekend's meeting with the Buffalo Bills will be determined in the coming days. The receiver missed the final three quarters of Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers after suffering bruised ribs, a strained groin and bruised pelvic area.

10/17/2005

Randy Moss, oak

Moss was forced to leave the game against the Chargers on Sunday with bruised ribs and an injured groin. He was hurt after trying for an overthrown ball and landing hard on the ground towards the end of the first quarter. The Raiders' wide receiver was able to return for one play, a Lamont Jordan touchdown run, before leaving the game for good and missing the final three quarters. His status for next weekend is up in the air, so stay tuned for updates this week.

10/12/2005

Rod Smart, oak

Smart, who missed last weekend's meeting with the Arizona Cardinals due to a strained groin, did not practice with the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday and currently is listed as doubtful for Sunday's tussle with the Detroit Lions. The running back sees the majority of his playing time on special teams. He has just three carries this season.

10/10/2005

Aaron Brooks, oak

Failing to get the Saints' offense on track, Brooks was pulled from the lineup in the third quarter of Sunday's 52-3 loss to the Green Bay Packers and replaced by backup Todd Bouman. Prior to his departure, Brooks was just 9 of 22 for 146 yards and two interceptions. His 25.9 passer rating was the lowest of his NFL career as a starter.

10/6/2005

ReShard Lee, oak

Lee has signed with the Green Bay Packers, filling the roster spot of rookie receiver Terrence Murphy, who will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign with a neck injury. The running back spent time with both the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings in training camp this year, but was released before the start of the regular season. He rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown in 14 games with the Dallas Cowboys in 2004.

10/4/2005

Jake Grove, oak

Grove underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Monday after tests revealed torn cartilage. The Raiders' starting center, who suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's victory over the Dallas Cowboys, is expected to be sidelined for the next 3-4 weeks. In his absence, Adam Treu will fill the void on Oakland's offensive front.

10/3/2005

LaMont Jordan, oak

Jordan did not appear to be slowed by the minor calf injury that limited his work earlier in the week, posting his best performance of the 2005 campaign in Sunday's victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The Raiders' running back rumbled for 126 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries, while also adding four catches for 22 yards.

10/2/2005

LaMont Jordan, oak

Despite a limited participation in practice earlier in the week, Jordan is listed as probable and should be ready to play against the Cowboys on Sunday.

9/30/2005

LaMont Jordan, oak

Jordan was limited in practice earlier this week, but he participated in the majority of the team drills during Thursday's workout and looked good, according to Raiders head coach Norv Turner. The running back is nursing some minor soreness in his calf muscle and shows up on the injury report as probable. He is expected to be in the starting lineup against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

9/27/2005

Lance Johnstone, oak

According to Vikings trainer Chuck Barta, Johnstone has a injury to his pectoral muscle where it attaches to the shoulder bone. The defensive end underwent an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury. His status is expected to be updated once the results of the tests are known.

9/26/2005

Kerry Collins, oak

Collins topped the 300-yard mark for the first time this season, going 24 of 42 for 345 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Raiders' quarterback has a 95.9 passer rating with six touchdowns through three games this season, but has yet to lead Oakland to a victory.

Tyrone Poole, oak

Still nursing a sprained ankle, Poole was inactive for Sunday's meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers, missing his second consecutive game. The Patriots' cornerback has been sidelined since suffering the injury in the team's season opener against the Oakland Raiders on September 8.

Doug Gabriel, oak

Making his 2005 debut, Gabriel hauled in two passes for 35 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Raiders' receiver underwent surgery to repair a dislocated middle finger on his left hand late last month, and the team had been working him back in slowly.

9/22/2005

Nnamdi Asomugha, oak

Asomugha was able to practice with the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday, despite some lingering soreness in his injured foot. The cornerback reported no major problems and plans to be ready for Sunday's matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. Officially, he has been listed as questionable.

Doug Gabriel, oak

Curry has been practicing with the Oakland Raiders this week, and barring any setbacks, he will make his 2005 debut in Sunday's meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles. The receiver underwent surgery to repair a dislocated middle finger on his left hand late last month, and the team has been working him back in slowly. With Ronald Curry expected to miss the rest of the season with an Achilles injury, Gabriel is the top candidate to fill the Raiders' No. 3 wideout role.

9/20/2005

Aaron Brooks, oak

Despite passing for 375 yards -- the third-best total in his NFL career -- Brooks struggled trying to get the Saints back into Monday night's meeting with the New York Giants. The quarterback connected with Joe Horn for one touchdowns, but threw three interceptions, was sacked four times and lost a fumble in a 27-10 loss.

Ronald Curry, oak

Tests have revealed that Curry suffered a re-tear of his Achilles tendon in only the second regular-season game back from the same injury last year. He will be placed on injured reserve and miss the rest of the 2005 campaign. After eight months of rehabilitation, Curry returned and had a strong preseason camp to secure the No. 3 receiver's job for Oakland behind Randy Moss and Jerry Porter, but only caught two passes for 12 yards in two games this year before the injury.

9/19/2005

Randy Moss, oak

Moss hauled in five passes for 127 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown catch, in Sunday night's 23-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Raiders' receiver had nearly the same stat line in the team's season opener against the New England Patriots last week, notching five receptions for 130 yards and a TD.

Ronald Curry, oak

Curry will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the right calf injury he suffered late in Sunday night's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The receiver has been recovering after tearing the Achilles tendon in the same leg last season, but he does not feel that the new ailment is the same problem.

9/15/2005

Jerry Porter, oak

Despite still being listed on the Raiders' injury report this week (probable), Porter reports that his hamstring is no longer an issue, and he is back to 100 percent. The receiver was limited the majority of training camp by the nagging ailment and made his 2005 debut in the team's season opener against the New England Patriots last week.

9/13/2005

Kerry Collins, oak

Collins plans to practice at full speed with the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday after missing Monday's workout with a bruised right thumb. The quarterback, who suffered the injury when he hit his hand on a helmet in last Thursday's loss to the New England Patriots, will be under center when the team takes the field against the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday night.
