Gould will take over as the Bears' kicker going forward, as the team decided to cut ties with veteran Doug Brien on Wednesday. Brien was released after hitting just one of his four field-goal attempts this season before missing last weekend's game with back spasms.

Gould has signed with the Chicago Bears and will fill in for the struggling Doug Brien, who will not play in Sunday's meeting with the Cleveland Browns, due to back spasms.
