Looking to add some insurance on their struggling and banged-up frontline, the Arizona Cardinals re-signed Lynch on Tuesday. The center was in the team's starting lineup for the regular-season opener, replacing the injured Alex Stepanovich, but was released a short time later. Tight end Teyo Johnson was cut to open a spot on the roster.

Lynch has been released by the Arizona Cardinals, opening a spot on the roster for linebacker Lester Towns, who re-signed with the club on Tuesday. The center got the starting nod in last Sunday's season opener against the New York Giants, but he became expendable with regular No. 1 snapper Alex Stepanovich returning to action this week.
