Ernster has been released by the Denver Broncos, opening a spot on the roster for the re-signing of running back Quentin Griffin, who inked with the team on Tuesday. The punter/kickoff specialist became expendable, due to Todd Sauerbrun's effectiveness on kickoffs in last week's action.
