Derek Anderson

9/22/2005

Anderson wasn't out of work for long. After being let go by the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, the rookie quarterback has been claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Browns. He takes the roster spot of veteran Doug Johnson, who was released by the club on Wednesday.

After signing veteran Kordell Stewart last week, Anderson became expendable, so the Baltimore Ravens decided to release the rookie quarterback on Tuesday. Until regular starter Kyle Boller is able to return from a hyperextended big toe, Anthony Wright will be the team's top signal caller, while Stewart will handle the backup duties.
