Alvin Pearman

10/30/2005

With Fred Taylor still ailing and listed as questionable, Pearman will see the ball an increased number of times during Sunday's game with the Rams. Although Pearman will share Jacksonville's rushing duties with fellow reserve Greg Jones, he should see a significant number of touches throughout the game.

Pearman appears to be the starter for Jacksonville on Sunday in Pittsburgh, after ESPN reported that Fred Taylor will not be active for the game. Pearman has rushed for 39 yards on eight carries this season. He also has caught six passes for 69 yards.

Pearman has moved up a spot on the depth chart and is now serving as Fred Taylor's primary backup at tailback. The Jaguars' rookie, who was a fourth-round pick in this year's draft, claims the job from LaBrandon Toefield. In five games this season, Pearman has rushed for 39 yards on eight carries and also hauled in six passes for 69 yards.
