Brandon Jacobs

11/7/2005

Despite missing some practice time with a bruised quadriceps muscle last week, Jacobs was dressed and available for duty in Sunday's meeting with the San Francisco 49ers. The Giants' rookie running back made the most of his limited playing time, rushing for two touchdowns on five carries. He has three TDs in his last two contests.

A bruised quadriceps muscle prevented Jacobs from practicing with the New York Giants on Thursday and landed him on the team's injury report. The rookie running back, who officially is listed as questionable, should be able to return to the field on Friday, according to head coach Tom Coughlin.

Through two games this season, it is obvious that the Giants are going to turn to Jacobs in most short-yardage and goal-line situations. The rookie running has 44 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries, with both of his scores coming from five yards or less.
