Andrew Walter

12/15/2005

With both Kerry Collins and Marques Tuiasosopo struggling, some Raiders fans have called for Walter to get a chance at the starting job. However, the rookie quarterback, who was a third-round pick in this year's draft, probably won't see any game action this season, as he's been slowed since training camp by a sports hernia. He's scheduled to undergo surgery after the season.

Walter has been working out with the Oakland Raiders this week and has reported no major problems with the groin injury that forced him to miss the team's last two exhibition games. According to head coach Norv Turner, the rookie quarterback should be available for Thursday's preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints.
