Charlie Frye

12/27/2005

Frye reported feeling fine when he showed up at the Browns' practice facilities on Monday, and he plans to be under center when the team takes the field against the Baltimore Ravens this weekend. The rookie quarterback, who was sacked eight times in Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, suffered a concussion when he took a hit in the fourth quarter, but was able to remain in the lineup and finish the game.

Despite some lingering soreness in his knee, as well as bruised ribs, Frye was able to make it through Wednesday's practice without any problems, and he plans to be under center when the Browns take the field against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday. The quarterback officially has been listed as probable.

Frye was able to shake off the minor knee injury he suffered last weekend, and he took the majority of the snaps with the Browns' first-team offense at Wednesday's practice. Barring any last-minute setbacks, the rookie quarterback, who as a third-round pick in this year's draft, will be under center when the team takes the field against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.

According to Browns head coach Romeo Crennel, Frye will be under center when the team takes the field against the Bengals in Cincinnati on Sunday, making his second consecutive start. With veteran Trent Dilfer hobbled by knee problems, the rookie quarterback got the nod against the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend, going 13 of 20 for 226 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

12/5/2005

Making his first career start, Frye posted an impressive 136.7 passer rating in Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Browns' rookie quarterback, filling in for the injured Trent Dilfer, finished 13 of 20 for 226 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Frye got the majority of the snaps with the Browns' first-team offense last week, and he will be under center for Sunday's matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, making the first start of his NFL career. The rookie quarterback takes over for injured veteran Trent Dilfer, who is nursing soreness in both knees, but will be available for backup duty, if needed.

12/1/2005

With Trent Dilfer unable to practice because of a knee injury, Frye took all the snaps with the Browns' first-team offense on Wednesday. The rookie quarterback, who was a third-round pick in this year's draft, would get his first career start in Sunday's meeting with the Jacksonville Jaguars if Dilfer can't take the field. A final decision likely won't be made until Friday at the earliest.

11/21/2005

Frye made his NFL debut in Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins, going 6 of 11 for 58 yards, one interception and no touchdowns. Reportedly, the rookie quarterback, who was a third-round pick in this year's draft, will continue to see some time in the Browns' upcoming games, although veteran Trent Dilfer will remain in the starting role.

Following a solid preseason, Frye has claimed the job as the Cleveland Browns' No. 2 quarterback, serving as the top backup to veteran starter Trent Dilfer. The rookie signal caller, who was a third-round pick in this year's draft, beat out Doug Johnson for the position.
