Vincent Jackson

8/25/2005

According to Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer, Jackson should see significant playing time in Friday's exhibition battle with the Minnesota Vikings, as the team wants to get a good look at the rookie receiver. A second-round pick in this year's draft, Jackson returned to practice on Wednesday after missing the previous several days with an Achilles injury.

One day after contract talks had reportedly broken down, Jackson signed with the San Diego Chargers on Thursday, agreeing to a five-year deal that includes a signing bonus worth $1.4 million. The receiver was a second-round pick in this year's draft out of Northern Colorado.
