Eric Shelton

9/4/2005

The Panthers placed Shelton on injured reserve on Saturday, meaning the running back will miss the entire 2005 campaign. The rookie, who was selected in the second-round in April's draft, broke a bone in his left foot in Carolina's preseason finale on Thursday night against the Steelers. The injury is not expected to require surgery, but Shelton will be sidelined for at least two months and the club did not want to save a roster spot for him.
