Dan Cody

8/30/2005

After suffering damage to the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his right knee during a practice session earlier this month, Cody has been placed on injured reserve by the Baltimore Ravens. The rookie linebacker, who was a second-round pick out of Oklahoma in this year's draft, will miss the entire 2005 campaign.

After signing a four-year rookie contract with the Ravens on Sunday, Cody sprained the ACL in his right knee on Monday in training camp and needed to be carted off the practice field. The second-round pick out of Oklahoma underwent an initial MRI which indicated a severe sprain, and he will be re-evaluated once the swelling subsides. If further testing reveals a more significant tear, the DE/LB likely will need to undergo surgery and would be lost for the season.
