Heath Miller

11/1/2005

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to keep Miller involved in their offensive attack, especially in the red zone. The rookie tight end, who was the 30th overall pick in this year's draft, hauled in three more passes for 18 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's win over the Baltimore Ravens. He has at least one TD catch in five of seven games this season, including four straight.

Miller notched the first reception of his NFL career in Sunday's victory over the Tennessee Titans. Although the catch totaled just three yards, the rookie tight end was in the end zone to record his first pro touchdown. It was his only catch on the day. Expect him to become more involved in the Steelers' passing game as the season goes on, especially in the red zone.

Miller agreed to terms on Tuesday with the Steelers on a five-year, $6.89 million deal that includes $4.542 million in guaranteed money. The only tight end taken in the first round of this year's draft (30th overall), Miller will be with his Pittsburgh teammates when they report to camp this Sunday. A three-year starter at Virginia, he won the John Mackey Award in 2004 as the nation's top tight end.
