Matt Jones
11/14/2005
Jones had the best game of his young NFL career, hauling in five passes for 117 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-3 thrashing of the Baltimore Ravens. The Jaguars' receiver, who was the 21st overall pick in this year's draft, has found the end zone three times in his last four games.

With the release of Troy Edwards, Jones has moved up the Jaguars' depth chart at wide receiver. He currently sits at third, but may crack the starting lineup should Reggie Williams struggle in the role.
8/2/2005
Jones has come to terms with the Jaguars on a five-year deal that has a base value of $8.45 million, with $6.07 of that figure guaranteed. The 21st player taken in this year's draft, the former quarterback out of Arkansas likely will make the transition to wide receiver in the pro game. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Jones opened eyes earlier this year with 4.4, and even a couple of 4.3, 40 times at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
