Erasmus James

9/30/2005

With Kenechi Udeze out for this Sunday's meeting with the Atlanta Hawks, James will get his first NFL start at left defensive end.

8/9/2005

James has signed with the Minnesota Vikings, agreeing to a five-year contract. Although official terms were not released, the deal reportedly is worth more than $11 million, including at least $6 million in guaranteed bonuses. The defensive end, who was the 18th overall selection in this year's draft out of Wisconsin, is expected to report to camp on Tuesday.

James has yet to sign with the Vikings, claiming that they are still working on a deal. This seems to be a market value type hold out, where James is waiting on others to sign in front of him, to help determine where his value stands.
