According to 49ers head coach Mike Nolan, Fleck will be placed on injured reserve after recently undergoing surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his shoulder. The receiver will miss the entire 2005 campaign.

Fleck was released from Stanford Hospital Friday afternoon, a little more than two hours after a scary collision between Fleck and lienbacker Jamie Winborn that left the receiver prone on the field for 15 minutes as trainers and paramedics worked on him. Fleck was taped to a backboard and taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a back sprain.
