Jason Wright

12/16/2005

Wright has been waived by the Cleveland Browns, opening a spot on the roster for tight end Paul Irons, who was promoted from the practice squad on Friday. The running back appeared in just three games this season, rushing for 27 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, while also adding three catches for 15 yards.

As anticipated, the Cleveland Browns have promoted Wright from their practice squad for Sunday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans. The running back will serve as the primary backup to starter Reuben Droughns, as William Green (ankle) is doubtful and Lee Suggs (thumb) is still at least a week away from a return.
