Pierce is expected to require surgery to repair a torn ligament in his knee, an injury suffered in Sunday's victory over the Detroit Lions. The Cowboys' tight end, who has seen limited playing time this season, will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign. He will be placed on injured reserve.
