For the second time this season, Steele has been waived by the Green Bay Packers, reportedly to open a spot on the roster for either an offensive lineman or receiver. The reserve tight end, who had four receptions for 42 yards in 15 games last season, does not have a catch in 2005.

After being released just prior to the start of the regular season, Steele has re-signed with the Green Bay Packers. The 27-year-old tight end, who takes the roster spot of injured receiver Javon Walker, caught four passes for 42 yards last year, and also saw action in 15 games on special teams.

Opening a spot on the roster for Donald Lee, who signed with the team on Tuesday, the Green Bay Packers have released Steele. The 27-year-old Steele caught four passes for 42 yards as the team's No. 3 tight end last year, and he saw action in 15 games on special teams.
