Courtney Anderson

12/28/2005

Sidelined for nearly two weeks with a strained ligament in his knee, Anderson was unable to practice with the Oakland Raiders again on Wednesday. It is looking like the tight end will be forced to miss Sunday's season finale against the New York Giants. Officially, he has been listed as doubtful.

An MRI has revealed that Anderson has a strained ligament in his knee, an injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns. The tight end was unable to practice with the Raiders on Tuesday, and he's currently listed as doubtful for this weekend's matchup with the Denver Broncos. In 14 games this season, he has 24 catches for 303 yards and three touchdowns.

Anderson, who won a starting job with the Oakland Raiders in training camp this year, got off to a solid start in Thursday's season opener against the New England Patriots, making three catches for 18 yards and two touchdowns. He and Zeron Flemister will serve as the Raiders' top two tight ends this year.
