Filling the roster spot of safety Terrence Holt, who will miss the rest of the season with an elbow injury, the Detroit Lions have promoted McHugh from their practice squad. The tight end, a seventh-round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, appeared in one game with the Green Bay Packers last season, but failed to record a catch.
