The Carolina Panthers have promoted Cramer from their practice squad, filling the roster spot of receiver Rod Gardner, who was waived on Friday. The second-year fullback, a seventh-round draft pick in 2004, appeared in six games last season, including one start.

The Panthers re-signed Cramer to serve as the team's backup fullback behind Brad Hoover in 2005. Cramer played in six games for Carolina last season, but did not log a carry or reception.
