It appears Krenzel has won the No. 3 quarterback spot for the Cincinnati Bengals, after the club cut the other candidate, Casey Bramlet, on Saturday.

The Cincinnati Bengals have claimed Krenzel off waivers from the Chicago Bears, who cut ties with the 23-year-old quarterback last week. A fifth-round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, Krenzel appeared in six games with the Bears last season, going 59 of 127 for 718 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions. He fumbled eight times, losing six.

Krenzel, a fifth-round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, was waived by the Chicago Bears on Tuesday. The quarterback won his first three NFL starts, marking the first time a Bears QB had done so in 40 years. He injured his ankle against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day and his season ended when he was placed on the injured reserve on December 7. For the season, Krenzel completed 59 of 127 passes for 718 yards. He threw three touchdowns and six interceptions.
