Bernard Berrian

1/16/2006

Berrian hauled in a career-high five passes in Sunday's playoff loss to the Carolina Panthers, leading the Bears in receiving with 68 yards. However, the wideout spent a good portion of the second half on the sidelines with his bruised hip wrapped in a large ice pack. He was unable to return to the game after suffering the injury.

Tests have revealed that Berrian has torn ligaments in his left thumb, and he will be forced to undergo surgery to correct the problem. The Bears' receiver, who suffered the injury in last weekend's win over the Baltimore Ravens, is expected to be sidelined for the next 6-8 weeks.
