1/3/2006

Jones practiced with the Jaguars' the majority of last week, but the team decided to hold him out of Sunday's regular-season finale against the Tennessee Titans as a precautionary measure. The running back, who has been sidelined since Week 15 with a neck stinger, declared himself ready for the start of the playoffs.

Jones has returned to practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars this week after missing last Saturday's win over the Houston Texans with a neck stinger. Barring any setbacks over the next couple of days, the running back plans to be available for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Tennessee Titans.

Jones was inactive for Saturday's game against the Houston Texans because of a neck stinger suffered in last week's win over the 49ers.

12/21/2005

Jones did not practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday, as he continues to recover from the helmet-to-helmet hit he took in Sunday's win over the San Francisco 49ers. The running back, who suffered a stinger on the play, likely will be limited over the next couple of days as well, but purely as a precautionary measure. He's currently listed as probable for Saturday's tussle with the Houston Texans.

With regular starter Fred Taylor back in the lineup after missing three of the last four games with an ankle injury, Jones returned to his role as the Jaguars' primary fullback in Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The second-year back, who saw the majority of the carries when Taylor was sidelined, rushed just seven times in the contest, picking up 43 yards.

12/5/2005

Jones topped the century mark for the second time this season, rushing for 103 yards on 27 carries in Sunday's victory over the Cleveland Browns. Normally a fullback, the 2004 second-round pick was filling in as the team's tailback in the absence of Fred Taylor, who continues to be hobbled by a ankle injury.

12/2/2005

Jones is slated to handle the majority of the Jaguars' rushing load in Sunday's matchup with the Cleveland Browns, filling in for the injured Fred Taylor, who will miss his third game in four weeks with a nagging ankle problem. Normally a fullback, Jones has 385 yards and four touchdowns on 105 carries in 11 games this year.

11/28/2005

With Fred Taylor inactive with a nagging ankle injury, Jones got the starting nod and handled the majority of the touches out of the backfield for the Jacksonville Jaguars in Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals. The running back finished with 78 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.

11/20/2005

With Fred Taylor suddenly back in the picture as the starting running back for today's game against the Tennessee Titans, Jones has been regulated to backup duty.

11/16/2005

Jones is slated to handle the bulk of the Jaguars' rushing load for the second consecutive week, as regular starter Fred Taylor is expected to miss Sunday's battle against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a nagging ankle/foot problem. In Taylor's stead last weekend, Jones rushed for a career-high 106 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.

11/14/2005

As anticipated, Jones handled the bulk of the Jaguars' rushing load in Sunday's meeting with the Baltimore Ravens, filling in for the injured Fred Taylor. Normally a fullback, Jones did not disappoint in the tailback role, rushing for a career-high 106 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. He has scored a TD in three of his last four games.

11/10/2005

Jones is expected to handle the majority of the rushing load for the Jacksonville Jaguars in Sunday's matchup with the Baltimore Ravens, filling in for regular starter Fred Taylor, who is listed as doubtful after aggravating an ankle injury last weekend. In eight games this season, Jones has 168 yards and two touchdowns on 41 carries.

10/17/2005

With Fred Taylor sidelined with an ankle injury, the Jacksonville Jaguars gave Jones the starting nod at tailback for Sunday's meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Normally a fullback, the second-year player rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, splitting time with rookie Alvin Pearman.
