Julius Jones
12/27/2005
Jones finally looked back to full strength after missing a month with a sprained ankle earlier this season, turning in his best performance of the 2005 campaign in Sunday's win over the Carolina Panthers. The Cowboys' running back handled the majority of the rushing load, finishing with 194 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.
12/5/2005
Jones saw his most extensive work in more than two months in Sunday's loss to the New York Giants. The Cowboys' running back, who missed four weeks with a sprained ankle, appeared fully recovered from the injury, rushing for 74 yards on 23 carries and hauling in a career-high nine passes for 88 yards.
11/21/2005
For the first time in six weeks, Jones was back in the Cowboys' starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Detroit Lions. The running back, who had been limited by a nagging ankle injury, picked up 92 yards on 21 carries, but also lost a fumble.
11/17/2005
Jones will be back in the Cowboys' starting lineup as soon as his ailing ankle will allow. The running back, who returned to action last weekend after missing nearly a month with a high sprain, admitted on Wednesday that he's still less than 100 percent. He will continue to split carries with rookie Marion Barber.
11/15/2005
Jones played in his first game since October 9 rushing for 16 yards on eight carries against the Eagles on Monday Night. He also had a catch for three yards in the contest.
11/10/2005
Jones has been practicing with the Dallas Cowboys for the past several days, and he is not listed on the team's injury report this week. The running back, who has been sidelined for nearly a month with a high ankle sprain, is expected to return to the starting lineup for Monday night's matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.
11/4/2005
If Jones is held out of practice on Friday, he'll definitely be back on the field with the Cowboys for Saturday's workout, according to head coach Bill Parcells. The running back, who has been sidelined for nearly a month with a high ankle sprain, is expected to return to the starting lineup for the team's Week 10 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. Dallas has a bye this week.
10/30/2005
With a bye next week, the Cowboys have decided to keep Jones inactive for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Jones continues to suffer from a high ankle sprain that has kept him out since October 9. Marion Barber and Anthony Thomas should get the bulk of the carries at running back.
10/25/2005
Since they have a bye in Week 9, it appears the Dallas Cowboys are leaning toward keeping Jones out of the lineup for one more game, giving him nearly five weeks to recover from the high ankle sprain he suffered in a victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on October 9. According to head coach Bill Parcells, the running back is highly questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Arizona Cardinals.
10/23/2005
Jones has been ruled out of Dallas' Week 7 matchup with the Seahawks due to a high left ankle sprain. The running back, who also missed last Sunday's win over the Giants, did not even make the trip to Seattle.
10/21/2005
Jones did not participate in practice Friday, and at this point looks unlikely to play Sunday when the Cowboys face the Seattle Seahawks.
10/19/2005
Jones worked out in practice for the first time since spraining his left ankle October 9.
10/17/2005
Jones missed the majority of the Cowboys' workouts last week, and as a result, he was inactive for Sunday's matchup with the New York Giants. The running back, who sprained his left ankle in the team's previous game, was replaced in the starting lineup by Anthony Thomas, while Tyson Thompson and Marion Barber saw some touches as well.
10/12/2005
Jones was limited to riding a stationary bike and other individual side work during the Dallas Cowboys' practice on Wednesday, due to a sprained left ankle. The running back, who suffered the injury in the second quarter of last weekend's win over the Philadelphia Eagles before spending the rest of the game on the sidelines, currently is listed as questionable for Sunday's meeting with the New York Giants. Tyson Thompson will get the starting nod if Jones can't go.
10/10/2005
Jones did not see any action after injuring his left ankle in the second quarter of Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The running back wanted to return to the lineup in the second half, but with the Cowboys boasting a 27-3 lead, head coach Bill Parcells chose to keep him on the sidelines and not risk further aggravation. After the game, Jones said the ailment is minor, and he plans to be in the backfield for next weekend's matchup with the New York Giants.
10/2/2005
Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells has vowed to decrease the workload that he has given Julius Jones. The running back, who participated in 71 plays from scrimmage during last Sunday's loss to the 49ers, should still get a majority of the work, but expect reserves Tyson Thompson and Marion Barber to get a few extra carries.
9/26/2005
Jones rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries in Sunday's victory over the San Francisco 49ers and also added four catches for 28 yards. The Cowboys' tailback is averaging 3.5 yards per carry this season after posting 4.2 yards per rush in his rookie campaign.
8/5/2005
If all goes as planned, the Dallas Cowboys will rush the ball around 35 times per game this season, with Jones getting the majority of the work. According to head coach Bill Parcells, the second-year tailback should get the call between 20-25 times per contest, while backups Anthony Thomas and Marion Barber will figure into the mix as well.
