Michael Jenkins

11/21/2005

After missing three weeks with a high ankle sprain, Jenkins was back in the Falcons' lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as anticipated. The receiver had a fairly productive return, hauling in five passes for 69 yards and a touchdown.

Jenkins has been activated for today's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Sidelined since Week 7 with a high ankle sprain, Jenkins returned to practice with the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday, and barring any setbacks, he should be back in the lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Officially, the receiver has been listed as probable.

11/11/2005

Jenkins has yet to practice with the Atlanta Falcons this week, and it appears highly unlikely that he will be available for Sunday's matchup with the Green Bay Packers. The receiver, who has been nursing a high ankle sprain since a Week 7 victory over the New York Jets, officially has been listed as questionable.

11/8/2005

According to Falcons head coach Jim Mora, the team does not want to take any chances with Jenkins' high ankle sprain, meaning there is a good chance the receiver could be held out at least one more game. Jenkins suffered the injury in a Week 7 victory over the New York Jets, but was able to return to practice on a limited basis last week.

11/7/2005

Despite returning to practice with the Atlanta Falcons last week, Jenkins was inactive for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. The second-year receiver, who has been limited since spraining his ankle in a Week 7 victory over the New York Jets, was replaced in the starting lineup by rookie Roddy White. If Jenkins continues to show improvement over the next few days, he should be ready for the team's Week 10 battle with the Green Bay Packers.

11/4/2005

After returning to practice with the Falcons on Thursday, Jenkins is optimistic that he will be available for Sunday's meeting with the Miami Dolphins. The receiver, who has 15 catches for 249 yards and one touchdown in seven games this season, has been limited since spraining his ankle in a Week 7 victory over the New York Jets. Currently, he is listed as questionable for this weekend's action.

11/1/2005

Jenkins hopes to expand his workouts later this week, as he continues to recover from the sprained ankle he suffered in a Week 7 victory over the New York Jets. The Falcons' receiver saw some limited work at practice on Monday, but he hasn't been cleared to resume running and cutting. In seven games this season, he has 15 catches for 249 yards and one touchdown.

10/25/2005

Jenkins was taken to the locker room to undergo X-rays after turning his ankle in the second half of Monday night's win over the New York Jets. All tests were negative, but the receiver was unable to return to the Falcons' lineup and has been listed as day-to-day. His status will be updated over the next week.

With three of the Falcons' top four receivers out with minor injuries, Jenkins picked up the slack in Thursday's exhibition game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, hauling in four passes for 35 yards and two touchdowns.
