J.P. Losman

12/28/2005

Losman, who has missed the Bills' last two games with a sore throwing shoulder and bruised left leg, has shown improvement recently and is taking a few reps at practice this week. However, the quarterback still is not back to full strength, according to head coach Mike Mularkey, and Kelly Holcomb is expected to get the starting nod in Sunday's season finale against the New York Jets.

12/20/2005

Losman was able to work out with the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, albeit on a limited basis. The quarterback, who sat out last week with a sore throwing shoulder and bruised left leg, was still walking with a slight limp. Although Losman currently is listed as probable for Saturday's meeting with the Cincinnati Bengals, head coach Mike Mularkey indicated he is leaning toward giving Kelly Holcomb the nod again this weekend.

12/14/2005

Losman will be absent from the Bills' starting lineup for Saturday's meeting with the Denver Broncos, due to a sore right shoulder and left leg. The second-year quarterback, who will be replaced by veteran Kelly Holcomb, was injured early in last Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots, but was able to remain in the lineup and finish the game.

12/13/2005

Losman did not work out with the Bills on Tuesday, and he was scheduled to undergo an MRI on his sore right (throwing) shoulder, according to head coach Mike Mularkey. Reportedly, the quarterback was injured early in Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots, but was able to remain in the lineup and finish the game. He's currently considered as questionable for Saturday's matchup with the Denver Broncos.

11/28/2005

According to head coach Mike Mularkey, the Buffalo Bills will stick with Losman as their starter for the remainder of the 2005 campaign. The quarterback began the season at the top of the depth chart, but struggled and eventually lost the job to veteran Kelly Holcomb. He stepped back in when Holcomb went down with an injury in Week 10 and has remained in the lineup since.

11/23/2005

Bills coach Mike Mularkey announced at his Wednesday press conference that J.P. Losman will start at quarterback for the second straight week. Losman threw for 168 yards and had one touchdown and one interception in last Sunday's 48-10 loss to the San Diego Chargers.

11/18/2005

Regular starter Kelly Holcomb has yet to practice with the Bills this week after suffering a fairly significant concussion in last weekend's win over the Kansas City Chiefs. As a result, Losman will get the nod against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, head coach Mike Mularkey announced on Friday. The second-year quarterback, who began the season at the top of the depth chart, is 54 of 110 for 570 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in five games.

11/17/2005

The Bills have yet to rule out Kelly Holcomb officially, but this point, it appears Losman will be the probable starter for Sunday's meeting with the San Diego Chargers. Holcomb suffered a fairly significant concussion last weekend and has yet to be cleared for practice. He continues to be bothered by headaches and shows up on this week's injury report as questionable.

11/14/2005

Losman, who lost his starting job last month, was called upon to lead the Bills in Sunday's matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs after Kelly Holcomb was knocked out with a concussion in the second quarter. After taking over the reins, the second-year quarterback completed nine of his 16 pass attempts for 137 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

10/6/2005

After leading the Buffalo Bills to a 1-3 record to begin the 2005 campaign, Losman has lost his job as the team's starting quarterback. According to receiver Eric Moulds, head coach Mike Mularkey has decided to give the nod to Kelly Holcomb, beginning with this weekend's matchup with the Miami Dolphins. Losman has posted a 55.9 passer rating this season, including only one touchdown and two interceptions.

10/3/2005

Following Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints, Bills head coach Mike Mularkey indicated that Losman will be back under center when the team takes the field against the Miami Dolphins next weekend. The starting quarterback was pulled in the fourth quarter on Sunday after going 7 of 15 for 75 yards, one interception and no touchdowns. He also was sacked three times and fumbled once. Backup Kelly Holcomb handled the signal-calling duties the rest of the game.

10/2/2005

Losman was removed from the Buffalo quarterback position in the fourth quarter and replaced by reserve Kelly Holcomb. Early reports stated that the move was performance based.

4/30/2005

Losman, who participated in the first day of Buffalo's mini-camp on Friday, says that the left leg he broke last August is now fully healed.
