Osgood signed a four-year contract with the Chargers on Friday. Financial terms were not disclosed. The special teams standout and reserve wide receiver led San Diego with 19 special teams tackles before suffering a torn pectoral muscle in a Dec. 4 game. He had just two catches for 21 yards this season.

Tests have revealed that Osgood has a torn pectoral muscle, an injury suffered in Sunday's win over the Oakland Raiders. According to Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer, the receiver will undergo surgery in the near future and miss the rest of the season. He will be placed on injured reserve.

Osgood has re-signed with the San Diego Chargers, agreeing to a one-year contract. The receiver appeared in all 16 of the team's regular-season contests in 2004, finishing the year with 15 catches for 308 yards and two touchdowns. He also saw extensive action on special teams.
