The Lions re-signed Holt to a one-year contract on Thursday. The free safety started 10 games in 2005 before being placed on injured reserve Dec. 7 with an elbow injury. He had a career-high 44 tackles and two interceptions in 2005.

Nursing a sore elbow, Holt has been placed on injured reserve by the Detroit Lions, officially bringing his 2005 campaign to an end. The safety finishes the year with 42 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble in 10 games.
