Domanick Davis

12/28/2005

Davis has decided to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his troublesome knee, ending his 2005 campaign. The Texans' running back, who has been battling inflammation and soreness in the joint nearly all season, has missed four games overall with the injury, including the last two. He finishes the year with 976 yards and two touchdowns on 230 carries, as well as 39 receptions for 337 yards and four scores in 11 games.

12/24/2005

Davis will be inactive for the Texans' game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday because of inflammation in his knee. This is the fourth game this season that the running back has missed because of this problem.

12/21/2005

Reportedly, Davis won't see much, if any, practice time with the Houston Texans this week. The running back, who has missed three games this season -- including last weekend's win over the Arizona Cardinals -- due to continued soreness and swelling in his troublesome knee, is expected to be a game-time decision for Saturday's tussle with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

12/18/2005

Davis will not play in Sunday's game against Arizona due to continued soreness and swelling in his knee. The Texans' running back had been listed as questionable on this weeks' injury report.

12/16/2005

Earlier in the week, it appeared Davis definitely would be ready for Sunday's matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, but he's been unable to practice with the team the past couple of days, due to continued soreness and swelling in his troublesome knee. Officially, the running back has been listed as questionable on the Texans' injury report, and he's expected to be a game-time decision, according to head coach Dom Capers.

12/15/2005

Nursing the sore knee that has bothered him all season, Davis was held out of practice on Wednesday as a precautionary measure. The Texans might choose to limit the running back over the next couple of days as well, but he's expected to be in the lineup when the team takes the field against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. He has been listed as questionable on the injury report.

12/12/2005

Davis was limited in practice all last week by his troublesome knee, but the ailment did not appear to hamper him in Sunday's loss to the Tennessee Titans. The running back, who's been battling inflammation and soreness in the knee all season, finished the contest with 139 yards on 22 carries, along with seven catches for 50 yards and a touchdown.

12/9/2005

Davis has been limited to individual work this week, allowing him to rest his troublesome knee. The Texans' running back, who has battled inflammation and soreness in the joint all season, currently is listed as probable for Sunday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans, and he plans to be in the starting lineup, barring any last-minute setbacks.

12/5/2005

Davis rushed for a season-high 155 yards on 29 carries in Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens, despite being limited in practice by his sore knee earlier in the week. The Texans' running back also hauled in three passes for 16 yards.

12/4/2005

Even though he was limited by his troublesome knee in practice this week, Davis will be in the Texans' starting lineup for Sunday's battle with the Baltimore Ravens. The running back has battled inflammation in the knee all season, and recently admitted it won't be back to 100 percent the rest of the campaign.

12/1/2005

On Wednesday, Davis admitted that his knee is not 100 percent, but he plans to play through the pain, if at all possible. The running back was limited during the Texans' practice as a precautionary measure, but should return to full speed on Thursday and be ready for Sunday's tussle with the Baltimore Ravens. Officially, he has been listed as probable.

11/21/2005

As anticipated, Davis returned to the Texans' lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs after missing the team's previous two games with inflammation and soreness in his knee. The running back led the club in both rushing and receiving, finishing the contest with 57 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, along with three catches for 53 yards.

11/18/2005

Davis was able to do more on Thursday than the previous day, and according to head coach Dom Capers, the Texans are planning on having the running back in the lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs, barring any last-minute setbacks. Due to inflammation and soreness in his knee, Davis has missed the team's last two games. He remains listed as questionable on this week's injury report.

11/17/2005

Davis returned to practice with the Houston Texans on Wednesday, albeit on a limited basis. The running back, who has missed the team's last two games with soreness and swelling in his knee, will try to expand his workouts over the next couple of days to determine if he will be ready for Sunday's battle with the Kansas City Chiefs. At this point, he is considered questionable.

11/14/2005

Davis was able to make it through a couple of the Texans' workouts last week, but due to continued swelling and soreness in his knee, he was inactive for Sunday's meeting with the Indianapolis Colts. The running back, who has missed the team's last two games, was replaced in the starting lineup by Jonathan Wells.

11/13/2005

Davis will not suit up for the Texans when they face the Indianapolis Colts today.

11/12/2005

Although Davis was held out of Friday's practice because of puffiness in his knee, the running back is expected to be ready to go when the Texans face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

11/11/2005

After being limited on Wednesday, Davis made it through a full practice on Thursday, and he is expected to be in the starting lineup when the Texans take the field against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. The running back was unable to play in last weekend's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, due to soreness and inflammation in his knee. Officially, he has been listed as questionable.

11/10/2005

Davis was able to get in some limited work at the Texans' practice on Wednesday, and he hopes to expand his involvement in the coming days. The running back, who missed last weekend's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, continues to battle soreness and inflammation in his knee and currently is listed as questionable for Sunday's battle with the Indianapolis Colts. He could be a game-time decision. Jonathan Wells will start if Davis can't go.

11/6/2005

The inflammation and soreness in Davis' knee will prevent the running back from playing in Sunday's matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. In his absence, Jonathan Wells will get the starting nod for the Texans, with Vernand Morency likely to see some time as the third-down/change of pace back.

11/5/2005

Davis, who has inflammation in his knee, will be a game-time decision for the Texans' contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

11/4/2005

Davis missed practice on Wednesday and was limited to individual work on Thursday, prompting the Texans to downgrade him from probable to questionable on this week's injury report. The running back, who has been nursing some minor soreness and swelling in his knee recently, will be re-evaluated on Friday and Saturday to determine his status and availability for the weekend.

11/3/2005

Davis was held out of practice by the Houston Texans on Wednesday, purely has a precautionary measure. The running back has been nursing some minor soreness and swelling in his knee recently, and the team just wanted to give him a chance to rest and recover. He plans to get in his normal work over the next couple of days and be in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

10/25/2005

Davis injured his wrist in Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts, and as a precautionary measure, the Houston Texans plan to limit his involvement at practice over the next couple of days. However, the injury is not considered serious enough to keep the running back out of game action, so he is expected to be in the starting lineup for this weekend's matchup with the Cleveland Browns.

10/10/2005

Davis turned in his best performance of the 2005 campaign in Sunday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans, but it went to waste, as the Texans lost the game, 34-20. The third-year running back rushed for 130 yards on 19 carries and hauled in a season-high eight passes for 43 yards. For the third time in four contests this season, he failed to score a touchdown.

8/29/2005

Davis' sprained right ankle has improved over the past couple of days, but the Texans' running back likely won't play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, primarily because of the quick turnaround. He suffered the injury in Saturday's exhibition loss to the Dallas Cowboys and is expected to be limited in practice this week.

8/6/2005

Davis has reportedly agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Houston Texans. The running back was to make $380,000 in 2005, wthe final year of his rookie deal. The new contract reportedly is worth $22 million, with $8 million guaranteed.
