12/12/2005

McGahee was assisted off the field after taking a hit early in Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots. The running back was evaluated on the sidelines, and despite feeling a bit woozy, was able to return to the Bills' lineup shortly thereafter. However, he turned in his worst performance of the season, picking up just three yards on eight carries and hauling in one pass for five yards.

McGahee topped 30 carries for the second time this season, rushing 31 times for 136 yards in Sunday night's loss to the New England Patriots. The Bills' running back also hauled in two passes for 21 yards, but failed to find the end zone for the second consecutive game.

Following a season-high 31 carries in last week's win over the Miami Dolphins, McGahee was busy yet again in Sunday's victory over the New York Jets, picking up a career-best 143 yards on 23 rushes. The running back also punched it in from a yard out in the third quarter to notch his fourth touchdown in as many consecutive weeks.

After being challenged by Bills head coach Mike Mularkey earlier in the week, McGahee responded to the call in Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons, rushing for a career-high 140 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. The running back looked timid in last week's contest, recording just 34 yards on 13 rushes, which resulted in the criticism from his coach.

As a precautionary measure, McGahee was held out of practice earlier this week after tweaking his right leg in last weekend's exhibition win over the Indianapolis Colts. However, the running back has worked out at full speed with the Bills the last two days and reported no problems, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

McGahee "tweaked" his right leg in last weekend's exhibition win over the Indianapolis Colts, according to Bills head coach Mike Mularkey, and the running back has been held out of practice the last two days as a precautionary measure. Mularkey indicated that McGahee could return to the team's workouts at any point, and he'll likely be available for Saturday's preseason meeting with the Green Bay Packers.
