Andre Johnson
1/2/2006
Johnson hurt his left ankle in the Texans' 20-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The third-year wide receiver caught just one pass for three yards to finish an injury-plagued 2005 with 63 receptions for 688 yards and two touchdowns. He made the Pro Bowl last season when he caught 79 balls for 1,142 yards and six scores.
12/18/2005
Johnson practiced Friday and is expected to start in Sunday's game against Arizona. The Texans' receiver had been limited in Thursday's practice due to discomfort in his calf muscle, and was listed as probable on the injury report.
12/16/2005
After experiencing some discomfort in his calf muscle, Johnson was limited during the Texans' practice on Thursday, primarily as a precautionary measure. The receiver, who was not listed on the team's initial injury report this week, plans to be in the starting lineup come Sunday. In 10 games this season, he has 48 catches for 515 yards and one touchdown.
11/28/2005
Playing in his fourth game since missing more than a month with a calf injury, Johnson looked to be back to full strength in Sunday's overtime loss to the St. Louis Rams. The Texans' receiver hauled in 12 passes for a season-high 159 yards and scored his first touchdown of the 2005 campaign.
11/7/2005
After missing the Texans' previous four games with a nagging calf injury, Johnson was back in the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The receiver didn't waste any time making his presence felt, turning in his best performance of the 2005 campaign. He finished with nine catches for 91 yards.
11/6/2005
Johnson has been cleared to return to action and will be in the Texans' starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The receiver has been sidelined since Week 4 with a strained calf muscle.
11/5/2005
Johnson, who has been sidelined for several weeks with a calf injury, was held out of Houston's practice Friday because of tightness in the calf muscle. Coach Dom Capers is calling Johnson's availability for Sunday's game against Jacksonville a game-time decision.
11/4/2005
After getting in more work than he did the previous day, following Thursday's practice, Johnson said he should be available for Sunday's matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, barring any last-minute setbacks. The Texans' receiver, who has been sidelined since Week 4 with a strained calf muscle, continues to be listed as day-to-day.
11/3/2005
Johnson took part in about half of the team drills during the Texans' practice on Wednesday, and if no problems are reported Thursday morning, he will expand his involvement over the next couple of days. The receiver, who has been sidelined since Week 4 with a strained calf muscle, currently is listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's likely that he will be a game-time decision.
11/1/2005
Johnson was able to work out on a limited basis last week, but due to continued discomfort in his strained calf muscle, there is no guarantee that the receiver will be cleared to practice at full speed with the Texans in the coming days. At this point, it appears he is highly questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
10/30/2005
Johnson has been limited in practice all week, and now the Texans are reporting that he will be inactive for today's game against Cleveland. The wide receiver is battling a sore calf muscle that he injured a few weeks ago.
10/28/2005
Even though he's resumed light running on his own, Johnson has yet to take part in a full practice with the Houston Texans, and it is unlikely that he will play in this weekend's tussle with the Cleveland Browns. The receiver, who has been sidelined since straining his calf muscle early in the team's Week 5 loss to the Tennessee Titans, officially is listed as questionable on the injury report.
10/25/2005
The Houston Texans expect Johnson to return to practice on Wednesday, but his workouts will be limited as a precautionary measure. The receiver has been sidelined since straining his calf muscle early in the team's Week 5 loss to the Tennessee Titans, forcing him to miss the majority of the last three games. He continues to be day-to-day.
10/21/2005
Johnson was held out of practice again Friday, and it appears all but certain that he will sit out Sunday's game against the Colts.
10/20/2005
According to Texans head coach Dom Capers, Johnson has been slow to recover from his strained right calf muscle, and at this point, it is likely that he will be unavailable for Sunday's meeting with the Indianapolis Colts. The receiver did not work out with the team on Wednesday, and he's officially listed as questionable on this week's injury report.
10/17/2005
As anticipated, Johnson was held out of the Texans' lineup for Sunday night's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, due to the right calf muscle he strained during last weekend's action. With Johnson sidelined, Houston looked to Corey Bradford and Jabar Gaffney to fill the receiver spots in the starting lineup, while rookie Jerome Mathis moved up on the depth chart as well, serving as the No. 3 wideout.
10/14/2005
It appears highly unlikely that Johnson will be able to play in Sunday night's meeting with the Seattle Seahawks. The receiver, who suffered a strained right calf muscle early in last weekend's loss to the Tennessee Titans, has yet to resume practicing with the Texans, and the team does not have a definitive timetable for his return.
10/11/2005
Johnson will miss at least Wednesday's practice with a strained right calf muscle, and the Texans currently don't have a specific timetable for his return. The receiver, who suffered the injury early in Sunday's loss to the Tennessee Titans, will be re-evaluated later this week to determine his status and availability. As is the case with the Texans as a whole, Johnson has been a disappointment this season, notching just 10 receptions for 76 yards and no touchdowns.
10/9/2005
Johnson was unable to return to the Texans' lineup after straining his right calf muscle in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Tennessee Titans. The receiver failed to haul in a pass prior to his departure, marking the first game in his three-year NFL career to go without a catch. He was replaced by Corey Bradford.
9/19/2005
The Houston Texans have been trying to get Johnson more involved in the offensive attack, but the receiver finished with just 20 yards on four catches in Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Over his last six contests, Johnson's best outing was a four-catch, 46-yard performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars last December. He has a total of 18 receptions over that span.
