Charles Rogers
8/17/2006
Rogers will miss Friday's preseason game against the Cleveland Browns with a knee injury. After Thursday's workout, coach Rod Marinelli said the fourth-year receiver would not play against the Browns. Rogers missed the last three days of practice with soreness in his knee.
8/16/2006
The Detroit News reported that Rogers did not practice for the Lions on Tuesday due to a sore knee.
12/20/2005
Rogers was the Lions' surprise offensive star in Sunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, hauling in three passes for 71 yards and a touchdown, his first score in two years. The third-year wideout, who missed four contests earlier this year while serving a suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy and sat out two others because of bad practices, returned to action after working his way back into the receiver rotation.
12/8/2005
According to interim head coach Dick Jauron, Rogers will be inactive for the second consecutive week, missing Sunday night's matchup with the Green Bay Packers. Reportedly, the receiver might not take the field again this season. He missed four contests earlier this year while serving a suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy and sat out two others because of bad practices.
12/4/2005
Rogers has tumbled down the Lions' depth chart, and he will be inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. The receiver, who was the second overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, has been disappointing this season, notching just 11 catches in six games. He missed four games while serving a suspension and was inactive for another, due to a bad week of practice.
11/13/2005
Rogers will be in uniform for today's game against the Arizona Cardinals, but Scottie Vines and Roy Williams will start at wide receiver.
11/11/2005
Rogers is expected to be in uniform and see some action in Sunday's matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. After serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy, the receiver returned to practice with the Lions last week. However, he didn't show enough effort in the workouts, according to head coach Steve Mariucci, and was not allowed to travel with the team for a matchup with the Vikings.
11/6/2005
Rogers was expected to return to the Lions' lineup this week after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy, but he did not travel with the team and will not play in Sunday's meeting with the Minnesota Vikings. Mike Williams and Scottie Vines are slated to get the starting nod, with Roy Williams coming off the bench.
10/31/2005
Rogers will return to practice with the Detroit Lions this week after wrapping up a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Prior to serving the penalty, the receiver had hauled in just five passes for 77 yards in three contests this season.
10/5/2005
As was reported earlier this week, Rogers officially has been suspended for four games by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The Lions' third-year receiver will begin serving the penalty immediately and won't be eligible to return to the team until Week 9. During Rogers' absence, rookie wideout Mike Williams will step into the Lions' starting lineup opposite Roy Williams.
10/3/2005
ESPN is reporting that Rogers will be suspended for four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Reportedly the suspension could be announced this week, unless the Detroit wide receiver files an appeal. Neither the league nor the Lions would comment on the report.
9/18/2005
Rogers is active for Detroit's Week 2 showdown against division rival Chicago. The injury-prone wide receiver, who was nursing an ankle ailment this week, had just one catch last week against Green Bay.
9/2/2005
Rogers likely will be held out of Friday's exhibition finale against the Buffalo Bills after missing practice the last couple of days with a minor ankle injury. The Lions' receiver, who missed most of the last two seasons after breaking his collarbone twice, will be ready for the start of the regular season, however.
6/8/2005
Rogers is nearly back to 100 percent, and he has been cleared for contact in the Lions' workouts. The receiver, who missed most of the last two seasons after breaking his collarbone twice, no longer is wearing a protective red jersey at the team's practices. In six career games, the second overall pick of the 2003 NFL Draft has 22 catches for 243 yards and three touchdowns.
