James Harrison
4/14/2006
Harrison signed a $5.5 million, four-year contract with Pittsburgh on Thursday, including a $1.375 million signing bonus. The backup linebacker couldn't have become a free agent until 2008, but the Steelers value his presence filling in for other injured players. He had 45 tackles and three sacks last season, starting three games for the Super Bowl champions.

Harrison reportedly should be able to return from his high ankle sprain for the Super Bowl Feb. 5. The Pittsburgh Steelers' linebacker missed the past two games because of the injury.

At this point, it appears Harrison will not be ready in time for Sunday's playoff matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. Due to a sprained ankle, the Steelers' linebacker has been unable to work out with the team this week, and he's currently listed as doubtful on the injury report.
