Tests have revealed that Smith has a torn right quadriceps tendon, an injury suffered during a practice against the Green Bay Packers late last week. The Bills' offensive lineman is scheduled to undergo surgery within the next few days, and he will need up to three months of recovery time. According to head coach Mike Mularkey, Smith will be placed on injured reserve.
