The Oakland Raiders have claimed Wells off waivers from the Denver Broncos, filling the roster spot of safety Reggie Tongue, who is out for the season with a knee injury. The cornerback began the 2005 campaign in the Broncos' starting lineup, but was placed on injured reserve earlier this month after straining his groin. He has since recovered from the ailment.

Nursing a right groin strain, Walls has been placed on injured reserve by the Denver Broncos, bringing his 2005 campaign to an end. The cornerback began the season in the Broncos' starting lineup, but lost the job to Darrent Williams last month before eventually going down with the groin ailment. He will be replaced on the roster by safety Hamza Abdullah.
