Tony Fisher

12/21/2005

Fisher will step into the Green Bay Packers' starting lineup over the last two weeks of the 2005 campaign, filling the void created when Samkon Gado suffering a season-ending knee injury last weekend. In 12 games this season, Fisher has 135 yards and one touchdown on 47 carries, along with 34 catches for 242 yards and a score.

11/22/2005

Returning to action following a two-week absence (broken rib), Fisher was expected to see limited work in Monday night's matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. However, after starter Samkon Gado dropped a pass in the second quarter and fumbled in the third, Fisher got the majority of the touches out of the Packers' backfield the remainder of the game. He finished with 14 yards on four carries, along with four catches for 25 yards.

Fisher remains listed as questionable on the Packers' injury report, but as long as he feels good during pregame warmups, he'll be available for Monday night's meeting with the Minnesota Vikings. The running back, who has been sidelined for nearly three weeks with a fractured first rib under his right collarbone, likely will serve as the team's third-down back, allowing Samkon Gado to remain in the starting role and handle the majority of the carries.

Fisher took part in portions of the Packers' practice on Wednesday, albeit on a limited basis. The running back, who has been sidelined for nearly three weeks with a fractured first rib under his right collarbone, should be allowed to expand his workouts over the next couple of days, including contact work, according to head coach Mike Sherman. Officially, he is listed as questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Minnesota Vikings.

11/12/2005

Fisher has been declared out for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons because of a fractured rib.

The Green Bay Packers still do not have a definite timetable for Fisher's return, as the running back continues to be sidelined with a fractured first rib under his right collarbone, which is causing discomfort in his right shoulder blade. He has been listed as doubtful for this weekend's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.

Further tests have revealed that Fisher has a fractured first rib under his right collarbone, which is causing discomfort in his right shoulder blade. The running back, who missed Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, reportedly could be sidelined for several more weeks. He was slated to take over as the Packers' primary tailback in the absence of Ahman Green and Najeh Davenport, but the team now will look to Samkon Gado and ReShard Lee to fill the void.

11/6/2005

Fisher will not play in Sunday's meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers, due to bruised ribs. In the running back's absence, ReShard Lee and Samkon Gado will split carries for the Green Bay Packers.

10/27/2005

Fisher suffered a minor eye injury last weekend and was held out of the Packers' practice on Wednesday as a precautionary measure. The running back, who officially is listed as probable on the injury report, plans to return to the field on Thursday and be ready for Sunday's meeting with the Cincinnati Bengals.

10/24/2005

Fisher's climb up the Packers' depth chart will continue, as he now takes over the starting role going forward. The running back, who replaced Najeh Davenport as the backup earlier this month, will fill the void created when starter Ahman Green went down with a torn quadriceps tendon -- a season-ending injury. In six games this season, Fisher has 20 yards on 14 carries and 13 catches for 85 yards and a touchdown.

10/10/2005

With Najeh Davenport expected to miss the rest of the season after breaking his ankle in Sunday's victory over the New Orleans Saints, Fisher will move up a spot on the Packers' depth chart and serve as Ahman Green's primary backup going forward. In five games this season, the running back rushed just nine times for 18 yards and hauled in 11 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.
