Aaron Kampman

3/11/2006

Kampman signed a contract extension with the Green Bay Packers Saturday, though the terms of the multiyear deal were not disclosed. The defensive end is the second potential unrestricted free agent the Packers have signed to an extension this week. Packers all-time leading rusher Ahman Green re-signed Monday.

Kampman will return to Green Bay next season after the Packers matched the terms of the offer sheet the defensive end agreed to with the Minnesota Vikings last week. The one-year deal is worth $1.2 million, including a $500,000 signing bonus, but reportedly, the Packers are interested in securing Kampman with a long-term contract, which will avoid him becoming an unrestricted free agent after the 2005 campaign.
