Rohan Davey

12/21/2005

Davey, who spent a few weeks with Arizona earlier this season before being released, has re-signed with the Cardinals. Reportedly, the new deal includes the last two games of the 2005 campaign, as well as all of 2006. With veteran quarterback Kurt Warner out for the season with a knee injury, Davey will supply the team with some depth at the position, backing up Josh McCown and John Navarre.

After being released late in training camp by the New England Patriots, Davey has signed with the Arizona Cardinals. The signal caller will serve as the team's emergency third-string quarterback at least until regular starter Kurt Warner is able to return from the groin injury he suffered last week. Josh McCown will step into the starting role, while John Navarre will handle the primary backup duties.

Davey has been released by the New England Patriots. The quarterback, who has been with the team since being selected in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL Draft, lost out to rookie Matt Cassel in the competition for the third spot on the depth chart. In seven career games, he is 8 of 19 for 88 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
