Jefferson underwent surgery on Tuesday after missing the last couple of weeks with swelling and soreness in his knee. The safety will be sidelined indefinitely, so the Indianapolis Colts have placed him on injured reserve, officially ending his 2005 campaign. Linebacker Mike Labinjo was promoted from the practice squad to fill the void on the roster.
