Ladell Betts
12/6/2005
As anticipated, the Redskins decided to hold Betts out of Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams to give him some more time to recover from a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee. The running back, who has been sidelined since Week 10, has reported improvement recently, however, and plans to work out with the team in the coming days. Barring any setbacks, he should be available for this weekend's matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.

Betts was able to work out with the Redskins on Thursday, but was back on the sidelines Friday, and it appears he won't be available for Sunday's meeting with the St. Louis Rams. The backup running back has been sidelined since Week 10 with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee, and the team is expected to give him another week to recover from the ailment.
12/2/2005
Betts' chances of playing in Sunday's matchup with the St. Louis Rams looked slim earlier this week, but he was able to return to practice with the Washington Redskins on Thursday and reported no major problems. The running back, who has been sidelined since Week 10 with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee, continues to be listed as questionable on the team's injury report, but could be upgraded if he looks good in Friday's workout.
12/1/2005
Betts did not practice with the Washington Redskins on Wednesday, and he has yet to resume running at full speed. Officially, the running back is listed as questionable for Sunday's meeting with the St. Louis Rams, but at this point, it appears he will not be ready for the contest. He has been sidelined since Week 10 with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee.
11/20/2005
Betts will not suit up for today's game when the Redskins host the Oakland Raiders.
11/15/2005
Betts will be limited in practice this week and his availability for Sunday's tussle with the Oakland Raiders currently is up in the air after suffering a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee during last weekend's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Redskins' running back will receive treatment over the next couple of days before being re-evaluated to determine his status.
10/14/2005
Betts continues to be hobbled by a strained groin, and since he's been unable to practice with the Redskins this week, his status has been downgraded from questionable to doubtful for Sunday's meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs. If the running back is unable to go this weekend, Rock Cartwright will step in as Clinton Portis' primary backup.
10/13/2005
Betts has been listed as questionable on the Redskins' injury report this week, due to the groin injury he suffered in last weekend's loss to the Denver Broncos. The running back, who serves as Clinton Portis' primary backup, did not practice with the team on Wednesday. He will be re-evaluated over the next couple of days to determine his availability.
8/30/2005
Betts was sporting a protective boot on his left foot over the weekend after spraining his ankle late last week. The running back, who suffered the injury in last Friday's exhibition victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, plans to return to practice with the Redskins within the next couple of days, but he likely will be held out of the team's preseason finale on Thursday as a precautionary measure.
