Duckett had hoped to return to the Falcons' backfield last Sunday, but the team decided to give him a little more time to recover from his sprained ankle. The running back, who has been sidelined since suffering the injury in a Week 6 win over the New Orleans Saints, officially is listed as questionable on the Falcons' injury report, but he plans to play in this weekend's matchup with the Green Bay Packers.

As anticipated, Duckett was inactive for the Falcons' matchup with the New York Jets Monday night, due to a sprained ankle. The running back will used the team's bye week to rest and receive treatment in hopes of being ready when play resumes in Week 9. Warrick Dunn got the majority of the carries in his absence.

An MRI on Duckett's ailing right ankle confirmed the original diagnosis of a high sprain, but no significant damage was found. The running back has not practiced with the Falcons this week, and he's officially listed as questionable for Monday night's matchup with the New York Jets. Considering the Falcons have a bye next week, they'll likely choose to hold Duckett out and give him the extra time to fully recover.

Duckett was unable to return to the Atlanta Falcons' lineup after spraining his right ankle in the second quarter of Sunday's victory over the New Orleans Saints. The running back, who had his foot in a protective boot after the game, is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury. For now, he has been listed as day-to-day.

Duckett sat out his second straight practice and was in street clothes on Saturday due to a hamstring injury that he suffered in practice on Thursday. Although not believed to be serious, the Falcons will play it safe with this type of injury early in training camp. Over the past two seasons combined, Duckett is tied in 10th place with Clinton Portis for most rushing touchdowns in the league with 19.
