Phillip Buchanon

9/21/2005

Trying to light a spark under his team, Texans head coach Dom Capers has made a switch on the defensive side of the ball, removing Buchanon from the starting lineup and replacing him with Demarcus Faggins. The cornerback, who was acquired from the Oakland Raiders during the offseason, has 10 tackles through the club's first two games of the 2005 campaign.

The Oakland Raiders have traded Buchanon to the Houston Texans for a second-round and third-round pick in this year's NFL draft. The cornerback, who voiced his displeasure with the status of the Raiders' franchise during the last week of the 2004 regular season, reportedly had been on the trading block for the past several weeks. Buchanon has shown flashes of brilliance, but has yet to fully live up to his potential.
